MasterChef Australia star announces huge career move after shock elimination
Instead of hanging up her apron for good, the 29-year-old dental hygienist is planning on becoming a pastry chef.
Rue, who is known as the 'dessert queen' by fans, announced she plans to head to Europe to pursue her dream as soon as possible.
'My vision board is to go to France and gain work experience in the pastry world for six months to a year, as well as explore Europe,' she said in a new interview with Yahoo Lifestyle on Wednesday.
The WA-based kitchen star said her long-term plans included opening her own pastry shop.

Elsewhere, Rue opened up about her return to MasterChef after her headline making appearance on the show in 2023.
'I still wanted to work really hard and do well, but the most important thing to me was to have a good time,' she said.
'Coming back was like riding a bike. It felt like I never left! I integrated back into the kitchen so quickly.'
Rue scored a major win on her first go on the hit cooking competition, when she won one of the biggest prizes the contest has seen.
The Zimbabwe-born cook was left speechless when she came first in an immunity challenge after judges fell in love with her sweet and spicy BBQ sauce recipe, BarbeRue.
Not only was she free from elimination that week, she won the life-changing prize of having her sauce produced, packaged and sold in all Coles stores across Australia for a limited time.
Rue suffered the heartache of a second MasterChef Australia elimination this week after a tricky pudding failed to impress the judges.
Rue, Tim, Audra and Sarah were tasked with remaking Variations of Sourdough and Strawberry with Elderflower and Balsamic dessert from O.MY restaurant's Blayne Bertoncello.
The dish included a strawberry sorbet which sat atop a sourdough-infused crème pâtissière, a strawberry gum emulsion, macerated strawberries, sourdough tuilles and fried elderflower crisps - all finished off with a balsamic gel.
As Rue, Audra, and Tim all struggled with their emulsion, which split and was too runny when compared to Blayne's, the temperatures began to soar in the kitchen.
In the end, it was the dessert queen herself who was sent home over her grainy crème pâtissière.
In tears, Rue told the judges that it had been an honour cooking for them and being on the show for a second time around.
'Just being called back among such amazing chefs made me realise I'm also part of the great people,' she shared.
Jean-Christophe Novelli sang high praises of the contestant and her presence on the show.
'You are unique, you've got the most amazing spirit and, for me, I believe you are a ray of sunshine in any kitchen,' he told Rue in a heartfelt speech.
Speaking of her final cook with 10Play, Season 15's Rue was left disappointed after being eliminated in a challenge she considered to be her bread and butter.
'I really felt like this was a cook that I was supposed to shine in, and I didn't,' Rue said.
'I had done all these elements over a thousand times, and somehow that didn't show. You couldn't see that on the plate.'

Ex-Today sports presenter Alex Cullen's desperate bid to find a tenant for the home he has a huge mortgage on - after he was sacked by Nine and forced to move to Melbourne
Alex Cullen desperately slashed the price for his $1.9 million Summer Hill rental property from $1,800 to $1,500-a-week recently, after struggling to find a tenant. The ex-Today star, 44, was dumped by Nine earlier this year after he accepted a $50,000 payment from Adrian Portelli for calling him 'McLaren Man' live on air. Following his subsequent move to Melbourne, Alex struggled to find a tenant for his million-dollar Sydney investment property, finally securing one after five weeks of searching, reported The Daily Telegraph on Thursday. Alex was forced to progressively slash the price over several weeks before a tenant was willing to move into the house he has an eye-watering mortgage on. The media personality and his Nine Entertainment journalist wife Bonnie purchased the four-bedroom, two-bathroom property in 2020 for $1.9 million. Alex first listed the home for rent in early July after moving to Victoria when he landed a new gig on The Christian O'Connell Show for Melbourne's Gold 104.3. Built in 1912, the Queen Anne Federation dwelling has been carefully maintained and boasts classic features including stained glass windows, patterned ceiling finishes and archways. Highlights include timber flooring, original archways, decorative fireplaces and a wraparound verandah. There's also a well-appointed modern kitchen and a large backyard with a paved patio for alfresco dining. It comes after Alex revealed to Stellar magazine he was offered a gig on 7News after he was sacked by Nine. 'After everything went down, Seven were one of the first on the phone to say, "You have our support, and if you want to come back, we're a phone call away,"' he said. 'I can't tell you how much that meant to me and my family.' He went on to say he was excited to see some of his old colleagues at the network after previously working at Seven on shows including Sunrise and Sunday Night. 'It's not very nice being the story,' he said, adding: 'It's better telling the story.' Alex was dismissed from the Today show for accepting the $50,000 gift from controversial Block billionaire bidder Adrian. In January, the presenter was given the sizeable sum after he was the first media personality to use Adrian's self-proclaimed nickname 'McLaren Man' live on air, which resulted in him leaving Channel Nine. Alex's exit from Nine was announced by Today host Karl Stefanovic live on air. The scandal kicked off when Adrian had grown tired of his long-used nickname 'Mr Lambo' and offered the cash reward to the first person to use his new moniker on air, with Alex obliging on the Today show. Accepting cash, gifts or benefits to undermine journalistic independence, and improperly using a journalistic position for personal gain, are both breaches of the journalism code of ethics as defined by the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance union. The ill-advised stunt led to Alex being suspended by Nine, and he did not appear on the show while the network investigated the payment. Nine's parting of ways with Alex went ahead despite Adrian's claim that the journalist intended for the money to be paid to charity all along. Network insiders also told Daily Mail Australia that the stunt could have been beneficial for the network and Adrian, if Alex had advised the promoter that, as a journalist, he was unable to accept any payment for making the comment on air. Adrian first received the unwanted nickname 'Mr Lambo' after turning up to a 2022 auction of popular house makeover show The Block in a yellow Lamborghini.

Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith seen on second date as the AFL star flies to the Gold Coast AGAIN to see the fitness influencer
Tammy Hembrow and Bailey Smith can't seem to get enough of each other, as the pair were spotted enjoying their second date at a beach on Friday. The AFL star, 24, who first jetted up to the Gold Coast to see Tammy, 31, last weekend, made the trip again to take her on a romantic stroll to Nobby's Beach. Influencer Updates AU shared footage of the pair on Instagram on Saturday, as the footy player appeared to have his arm wrapped around Tammy's hips. The clip showed Tammy and Bailey cuddled up as they walked down the street after getting a coffee together and soaking up some sun in the sand. 'Spotted at Nobby's Beach GC yesterday!' the caption read. 'They pulled up together in her car, got coffee and went for a walk then drove off with him driving her car!' Tammy posted to her Instagram Stories just a few hours later, wearing the same grey tank top and denim shorts she wore on her date, and shared a photo of the beach. Likewise, Bailey was spotted in Melbourne just shortly before he flew up to QLD, wearing the same black tracksuit he donned for their outing. It was likely a brief visit as Bailey would have flown back to Melbourne soon after their rendezvous to prepare for the Cats' bout against the Swans in Sydney on Sunday. Their second catch-up came on the same day news broke about a community coach being sacked after he made a vile comment about Tammy dating Bailey. Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club formally sacked League coach John Baggetta on Friday after he posted a shocking slur about the online star to Facebook. John called the fitness influencer a 'c** bucket'. Days earlier, Daily Mail exclusively revealed Bailey and Tammy were seen together on a date on the Gold Coast, kissing and sharing lunch at a waterfront restaurant. The outing fuelled speculation about a new romance, coming only two months after Tammy's split from her ex-husband Matt Zukowski. Later, she appeared on social media wearing what seemed to be Bailey's jacket. Bailey has declined to clarify the relationship. Photographers and reporters attended Geelong training this week, where Bailey was the centre of attention, but the Cats star only responded with a tirade of expletives. Their alleged union on the Gold Coast sparked enormous chatter on social media platforms, including plenty of horrendous comments directed at Tammy. One of the worst of those slurs was posted in the comments section of a news article by John. 'He's just trying to keep his relevance,' John posted about Bailey. 'And she is just a c** bucket,' he then posted about Tammy. His comment sparked a barrage of calls for him to be sacked, with the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club officially wielding the axe on Friday. 'The board of the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club wish to inform all players, members, officials and supporters that John Baggetta has been terminated as League coach,' the statement read. 'Regarding the social media post made by John, we do not condone those comments, and they do not reflect the values or standards of the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club at any level.

Brazen thieves target footy legend's luxury car in broad daylight - leaving his young family 'rattled'
Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery. The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his Mercedes outside his Moonee Ponds home, in Melbourne's north-west, on Thursday. His wife Brooke later posted security footage of a car pulling up in front of their house around 6pm. A hooded thief can be seen hovering over Cotchin's car - which was unlocked - before opening the door and helping himself to a wallet, including an Amex card. Cotchin has confirmed multiple transactions were made on the card before it was locked. Victoria Police were then spotted at Cotchin's house on Friday morning taking statements. Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery this week in suburban Melbourne The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his luxury Mercedes (pictured) outside his Moonee Ponds home on Thursday Cotchin's wife Brooke told Instagram followers her family were left 'rattled' by the incident The footy star's wife posted on Instagram anything 'half valuable' in the vehicle was taken, but Cotchin's mouthwash, toothbrush and toothpaste were left behind. She added her family were left 'rattled' by the incident. Cotchin retired at the end of 2023 following a brilliant career with the Tigers, which included flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He captained the team to all three premierships, and also snared three best and fairest gongs at Punt Road during his storied 306-game career. Away from footy, Cotchin was recently mortified when he appeared on Channel Seven's Dancing With The Stars. While he impressed when performing a Cha Cha with Jess Raffa, the decorated midfielder was left with a questionable red lipstick mark on his crotch. It was all good natured, with Cotchin admitting it was 'extremely awkward' before playfully asking host Sonia Kruger to 'move on' when questioned about the stain. Dancing With The Stars fans previously noted Cotchin had been a little hesitant to dance with Raffa during early days of the show. Many felt the footy star didn't feel comfortable dancing with another woman who was not his wife and childhood sweetheart, Brooke.
