He took a pledge with villagers to keep their surroundings clean and urged everyone to avoid littering and take responsibility for cleanliness around their homes. He highlighted the importance of increasing greenery, eliminating plastic usage, and cleaning drainage systems in villages. Minister Yadav also stressed the government's initiative to observe every third Saturday of the month as 'Swachh Saturday' and detailed ongoing activities like garbage segregation, drainage cleaning, and tree plantation under the campaign. He appealed to citizens to actively participate alongside government officials, stating that cleanliness is not only a personal duty but also a social responsibility. He called upon everyone to make Dharmavaram constituency a model of cleanliness in the State.
Following the cleanliness programme, he inaugurated a new drinking water supply project at the Bathalapalli Veterinary Hospital premises, funded by Zilla Parishad, to address potable water issues in the mandal center and nearby villages. The project includes newly drilled 15 bore wells made available for public use. Highlighting the government's commitment, Minister Yadav said providing safe drinking water to every household is a top priority. He emphasized the need for clean water for good health and explained that protected drinking water schemes are being implemented in rural areas to ensure this. The event was attended by RDO Mahesh, MPDO Narasimhanayudu, MRO Swarnalatha, ZPTC members Koti Sudha and Koti Babu, BJP Mandal President Bhaskara, local leaders including Veeranarappa Akuleti, D Cherlopalli Narayanaswamy, along with a large number of villagers and officials.

In ten days, 4,900 citizens from Thane district pledge to donate organs
Thane, Aug 13 (PTI) A total of 4,900 citizens from Maharashtra's Thane district have pledged to donate organs over the past ten days as part of the government's 'Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyan' campaign, officials said on Wednesday. According to a release by the Zilla Parishad, to make the process more citizen-friendly, the Health Department has simplified the online registration process for organ donation. 'Citizens can register by scanning the QR code or by visiting the website using their Aadhaar number or Abha-linked mobile. After completing the pledge, the certificate can also be downloaded," it said. The drive is being held from August 3 to August 15, it said, adding that 4,900 citizens have so far registered their pledge to donate organs. People urged to encourage organ donation
Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Health, Family Welfare, and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav called for a concerted effort to increase organ donation awareness, stressing a significant gap between India's organ transplant capabilities and its donation rates. Speaking at the 'Jeevandan AP' event at GSL Medical College on International Organ Donation Day, he noted that while India ranks third globally in transplants, it is at 68th position in donations. The minister urged the public to overcome social stigma and encourage organ donation. The minister shared promising statistics for Andhra Pradesh, where a single donor's organs can save up to eight lives. In 2023, there were 41 donors and 126 transplants, which increased to 66 donors and 210 transplants in 2024. In the first seven months of 2025 alone, 54 donations have already resulted in 174 transplants. The event, which included a walkathon and a flash mob, honoured the families of organ donors. Following the awareness programme, Minister Yadav inaugurated seven new Advanced Integrated Modular Operation Theatres at GSL Medical College, built with a Rs 35 crore investment by GSL Institutions. According to Managing Director Dr Ganni Sandeep, these state-of-the-art facilities are equipped for complex surgeries, including organ transplants, and will reduce the need for patients to travel to other cities. The new theatres, which bring the total to 20, also feature high-speed connectivity for live telecasts of surgeries for medical education globally. Anaparthi MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, MLC Somu Veerraju participated. A powerful public awareness event for organ donation was organised by 'Jeevandan AP', captivating the city with a rally and a flash mob. Dr Ganni Bhaskara Rao, Chairman of GSL Medical Institutions, delivered a moving speech, comparing organ donation to a family legacy of compassion. The event began with a Walkathon from the Government Hospital, featuring students and staff from GSL, Delta, and KIMS hospitals. Participants held placards as they marched to Kambala Park junction, where a dynamic flash mob dance and a 'face paint' exhibition drew a large crowd. Dr Ramaraju of KIMS Hospital and Dr K Rambabu of Jeevandan AP stressed the critical need for organ donation.

VIJAYAWADA: Under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the coalition government's proposed health sector reforms in Andhra Pradesh are facing sharp criticism from public health activists, who warn they will make healthcare unaffordable for the poor. Concerns centre on the reported plan to hand over 10 under-construction medical colleges to private entities and to establish super-specialty hospitals in every MLA constituency under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Activists point out that in other states, PPP-run facilities have led to soaring medical costs, restricting access for disadvantaged patients. GOs 107 and 108 sparked outrage by enabling costly self-finance seats in medical colleges, prompting Praja Arogya Vedika's (PAV) statewide drive with seminars, and drives across districts. Speaking to TNIE, PAV State President MV Ramanaiah said, 'As part of the campaign, a National Health Seminar titled 'Privatisation of the Healthcare Sector—Impacts and Solutions' will be held on August 24 at MB Vignana Kendram Auditorium, Vijayawada.'
