Inaugurating the service on Thursday, airport director Pravat Ranjan Beuria said wi-fi would not only be available to passengers with an active phone network but also to foreigners who did not have roaming cell coverage after reaching Kolkata. "Flyers will no longer face connectivity issues at the airport. The entire terminal — arrival and departure; domestic and international wing—will be under Wi-Fi coverage," he said. New Town resident Anjali Tiwari said her relatives visiting Kolkata from the US last month were surprised to learn there was no Wi-Fi at Kolkata airport. "I am glad that Wi-Fi has been provided and hope the speed is on par with other international airports," she said. An airport official said the help desks will be available before the exit points at the arrival level in both domestic and international wings of the terminal. In the international wing, the desk will be positioned between exit gates 4 and 5 after the immigration and Customs channels. "Once the traveller logs into the free Wi-Fi after registering on the NSCBI Airport portal through either OTP mode via SMS or entering the voucher code obtained from the help desk, he or she can surf the Internet or access net-based apps, including WhatsApp, to make a call to a driver or book a cab using Uber, Ola or Yatri Sathi," the official explained. In future, the airport has plans to also introduce WhatsApp-based authentication. Passengers will, however, require an active Internet connection to access this. Tour operators and travel agents who bring foreign tourists to India, particularly around Durga Puja and Christmas, are delighted. Travel Agent Association of India chairman (East) Anjani Dhanuka and his counterpart at Travel Agents Federation of India Bilolaksha Das said Wi-Fi is a basic amenity that is of vital importance for international tourists who fly to a foreign shore. "Connectivity is important to contact the travel executive assigned to receive the tourist at the airport," said Dhanuka. "Once they are in the city, they can purchase prepaid local SIMs and get connected," added Das. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). George Russell is missing racing but enjoying holidays with girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt as fans ask, ‘Why is everyone in Sardinia?'
George Russell is on a vacation in Sardinia (Image credit: Instagram) Max Verstappen and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff are not the only ones who usually spend their summer holidays in Sardinia. George Russell has now joined the list, sharing fresh vacation pictures from his yacht in the scenic Italian destination. While Sardinia's charm is well known among the F1 fraternity, fans seemed far more interested in Russell's shirtless pictures, which he posted alongside snaps of his girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt, on Instagram as the couple continues to enjoy the summer break. George Russell holidays with girlfriend in Sardinia On Thursday, Russell took to Instagram to share a series of photos from his yacht getaway with Mundt, captioning the post: 'Missing racing, enjoying holidays', accompanied by a sunrise-over-mountains emoji. The carousel included shirtless shots of Russell relaxing on his yacht, a couple of sweet moments with Mundt, and an impressive video of the Mercedes driver surfing like a pro on an electric surfboard. He also confirmed that he was following his exercise regime as well to ensure he is in shape when he returns to the track. It seems the couple are accompanied by a few near and dear ones as well. He was also seen kayaking with a young child, protectively shielding them with his legs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These things are considered normal in Iceland - View listing (1) Novelodge Another picture showed Mundt attempting electric surfing herself. One fan joked, 'New game: take a shot every time you see a shirtless George Russell.' Another wrote, 'Shirtless George photos are so back.' A third commented, 'The number of shirtless photos here.' One quirky exchange saw a fan ask, 'What comes after seven?!??!!' to which many cheekily replied, 'Ate', referencing his shirtless shots. Others kept it simple, with comments like, 'Why is everyone in Sardinia?' and 'Missing you Georgeyyy. Come back on that podium.' Russell has been making the most of his luxury yacht, which he purchased earlier this year for a hefty sum. He has shared several pictures from aboard the vessel in the past, and recently, Mundt also posted a few glimpses of their time on it. Verstappen also owns a yacht and often holidays in Sardinia with girlfriend Kelly Piquet and his daughters.
