Superman Day 9 India Box Office: David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan's film observes good 80 percent growth from Friday BUT...
The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Superman Are As Under
Particulars India Net Collections
Week 1 Rs 32.75 crore
2nd Friday Rs 1.65 crore
2nd Saturday Rs 3 crore
Total Rs 37.40 crore in 9 days
Superman's Collections In India So Far Are Underwhelming; To Cross Rs 40 Crore Net On Day 10
The total collections of Superman after 9 days are slightly underwhelming. The movie should have been doing significantly better than what it is doing. In the weekdays, the day-on-day collections of a 3 and a half week old film, F1, should be higher. Jurassic World: Rebirth, over its 3rd weekend, is already ahead and that's enough proof of the superhero film's underperformance in India. As things stand, a Rs 50 crore net finish is what is expected from Superman. Even that depends on how the film reacts once Fantastic Four: First Steps releases.
Superman Is Doing Exceptionally In The Domestic Markets
Superman is performing better in the domestic markets. It has crossed USD 200 million in US/Canada on 2nd Saturday and is heading for a lifetime of USD 375 million or so. The global collections of the David Corenswet film shall have crossed USD 400 million by the end of its second weekend, setting the movie well for a lifetime cume of over USD 600 million.
Given how DC has been losing credibility over the last few years, these are really appreciable numbers. If James Gunn propels DCU in the right direction, the brand will get back the dedicated following it once enjoyed. There surely is a lot of scope left in this Comic Book brand.

Varun Dhawan likes a post criticising 'Saiyaara' actress Aneet Padda, netizens say 'Most Bollywood families don't want...'
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara is creating some insane and unbelievable records at the box office, which is phenomenal considering the musical drama features newcomers. The Mohit Suri directorial will mostly cross the Rs 300 mark today, which means in just 17 days, which is nothing less than historic. And it has also become the first YRF film that will stream on Netflix. Not only fans and audiences, Saiyaara garnered praise from celebs like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, Mahesh Babu, Arjun Kapoor, Ameesha Patel, Siddharth Anand, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Karan Johar, Anurag Basu and Anil Kapoor, among others, for its storyline, direction and performances. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD But there's a video that has gone viral on social media where Aneet is being criticized for refusing to pose for the paparazzi at the airport due to her shy nature, and the video has been liked by Varun Dhawan after keen observation by netizens. Why is Varun Dhawan liking a video against #AneetPadda Reddit caught Varun and screenshot it before he removes Like Or is it because Varun was considered for #Saiyaara and Adi rejected him for younger actor? The thing is Varun doesn't even follow KRK and yet he liked this… — Redditbollywood (@redditbollywood) July 31, 2025 One wrote- 'Interesting 🤔 what I feel mostly bollywood families don't want this movie to do good but destiny had other plans.' Another said, 'Do you think even if Varun Dhawan was cast as the male lead, it would have become this big? I don't think so. This Aahan kid performed so good, it's almost because of him and girl this film is doing this big.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Before the release of the movie, director Mohit Suri spoke about Saiyaara's comparison with Aashiqui 2 in an interview with Firstpost. He said, 'When I made Zeher, they said it looked like Murder. When I made Ek Villain, they said it looked like Murder 2. When I made Malang, they said it looked like Ek Villain. When I made Aashiqui 2, they said it looked like Woh Lame and Rockstar. So I think when I go ahead and make my next film, they'll say it looks like Saiyaara. I think when they're comparing it to my own work rather than somebody else's, it's good.'

Durgapur director wins Swarna Kamal at nat'l awards for short film on gender identity
1 2 3 4 Kolkata: A Durgapur director's Hindi short film—'Flowering Man'— which explores a daughter's gradual acceptance of her father's queerness, won the top honour (Swarna Kamal) in the non-feature film category at the 71st National Film Awards. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh, with the citation praising the director, Soumyajit Ghosh Dastidar. Notably, the citation avoids directly referencing the film's engagement with queer themes, instead stating that its "cohesive narrative allows it to resonate on multiple levels." Speaking to TOI, Dastidar said, "I would love to go back and make a film in Bangla, not necessarily in Kolkata. I feel that so much of Bengal is still unexplored in cinema. " Born in Chinsurah, Ghosh Dastidar calls Durgapur his hometown, though he now works as a freelance writer in Mumbai. While growing up in Durgapur, he was warned never to swallow the seeds of an orange, else a plant would start growing inside his stomach. The idea prompted him to doodle a figure with a flowering plant growing from his mouth. He used that visual imagery and synergised it with his observations of gender identity and sexuality while writing the screenplay of this film. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Undo The film employs the metaphor of a growing flower to symbolise the protagonist's desire to embrace the true identity as a woman. "Making this diploma film with Avirat Patil, PR Manikandan, Anurag Pant, and Aritra Majumdar was a wonderful experience. My FTII batchmate, Amartya Ray, composed the music. The cast includes Tanishka Meesala and Rajeev Gaursingh," he said. "We unfairly associate gender with things like clothes and jewellery. Our conditioning ignores the fact that each of us is fluid in our gender preferences. A human being, at any stage in life, can discover that they are fluid," he said. He also emphasised that much of what happens in our lives finds no reflection in contemporary Indian cinema. Speaking about the controversy over 'The Kerala Story' receiving a National Award, Dastidar said, "Celebrating a film that promotes a certain propaganda creates an atmosphere of fear."
