Triple H Drops Major Hint about Colorado Linebacker's Future in WWE originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, has built an outstanding career in professional wrestling over the past four decades. The wrestler turned WWE executive addressed the potential of Colorado linebacker Gage Goldberg being on a future roster for the organization during WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.

'He probably won't be the last Goldberg in the business," Levesque said. "I can see this sparkle in Gage's eyes, and he's been very clear about it – if the NFL doesn't work out, here he comes. So we'll see.'
The son of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg was on hand to take part in his father's farewell match over the weekend. The 6-foot, 205-pound middle linebacker from Boerne Champion (Texas) was part of Coach Prime's 2024 recruiting class. He has a special tie to Sanders having known him since he was a kid. Gage played in three games last year as a true freshman with his debut on the road against Arizona.
Bill Goldberg was a teammate of Coach Prime's in the early 90s with the Atlanta Falcons. He eventually quit football and became one of the most noticeable figures in the wrestling world with WCW and eventually the WWE.

With Gage previously expressing interest in following his father's footsteps, the WWE remains a solid backup plan for now. It's clear wrestling fans would enjoy the continued storyline with Gage being the next Goldberg in the world of wrestling.

Another analyst steps up to defend Jalen Hurts after Cam Newton's harsh critique

Another established voice come to Jalen Hurts defense after cam Newton's verbal assault. No one loved beef like the late, great 'Drama King,' D.J. Kay Slay. If things were quiet and there wasn't any, he'd create some. If he were here, he'd be having a field day with the Jalen Hurts narratives if he hadn't passed on after a COVID-19 contraction in 2022. This seemed like a mere opinion a couple of years ago. Still, it's hard to think of a starting quarterback who is marginalized and disrespected more often than the Philadelphia Eagles starter. All he does is win. All people do is complain. If you only read the narratives, you'd think he was Trevor Lawrence or Justin Herbert... But, that probably doesn't make the point we're trying to communicate because people keep telling us those two are better players. Recently, Cam Newton joined the Jalen Hurts onslaught. That was surprising. If anyone joined Hurt's side, we would have assumed it would have been him, but no dice. Hurts found some support as Newton was criticized for his statements. The 2015 NFL MVP didn't waver. He doubled down. Most thought training camp would shift the focus away from this, but an established voice joined the discussion. And, he's backing Hurts. Chase Senior is an analyst and content creator over at Chat Sports. He hosts Eagles Now and the 49ers Report. He joined in on the Newton vs. Hurts discussion and did Philadelphia sports fans proud. We tried to play devil's advocate and offer a varying opinion just for kicks after that one, but we can't. Senior hit the nail on the head there. That sound you hear is Newton's jaw hitting the floor. Well done, Mr. Senior. There's seemingly nothing left to add after that level of excellence. That being said, we get back to the Eagles training camp news.

Red Sox Trade Idea Lands 2.41 ERA Closer

Red Sox Trade Idea Lands 2.41 ERA Closer originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Boston Red Sox have a few areas to address at the trade deadline. The question is, where will they turn their attention? Previously viewed as a wasteful season, the Red Sox have flipped the script and enter the second half on a 10-game win streak. Boston has boosted its record to 53-45, just one game behind the New York Yankees and just three games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the American League East lead. One potential target is Baltimore Orioles closer Félix Bautista, who could be on the move, especially considering their lackluster 43-52 record. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic wrote this about Bautista's availability: 'The Orioles… are listening on closer Félix Bautista, who is under club control for two additional seasons. A source briefed on the team's plans, however, said it was unlikely [Bautista] would be traded.' While Baltimore may not ship its top reliever to a division rival, the Red Sox have so many prospects that they could make an irresistible offer. It would have to look something like this: Red Sox receive: RHP Félix Bautista Orioles receive: RHP Richard Fitts, OF James Tibbs III (No. 5) Bautista did miss all of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he has bounced back nicely with a 2.41 ERA, a 3.17 FIP, 18 saves, and 48 strikeouts to 20 walks over 33 and 2/3 innings. Fitts (4.28 ERA, 5.19 FIP) has had his moments in his first full campaign as a starting pitcher for Boston, and sacrificing him would seriously strain this starting rotation. The Red Sox would have to rely on either bullpen games or Tanner Houck, who is still not back from the injured list, to erase the absence. Tibbs was the main prospect return from the San Francisco Giants in the Rafael Devers trade and would make for another tantalizing piece on that young Baltimore crew. The price is steep, but Bautista is elite, and there is no telling what pending free agent Aroldis Chapman might do after the story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Fitness influencer Joey Swoll quits social media as Hulk Hogan tribute sparks backlash: ‘I'm done'

A renowned fitness influencer and bodybuilder was chased off social media over the vitriol he received for his tribute to Hulk Hogan following the WWE legend's death. Joey Swoll, the 42-year-old 'CEO of Gym Positivity,' declared Monday that he was 'done' with his online platforms as he apologized for dressing up as the mustachioed wrestling icon, which he claimed was a gift from Hogan himself. 'I owe my followers, my community and all of social media an apology,' Swoll told his 8 million followers in a recorded message from the front seat of his car. Swoll had paid tribute to the late Hogan in a now-deleted video in which he wore a Halloween costume resembling the famed wrestler during a workout at Gold's Gym in Venice, Calif. Hogan, born Terry Bollea, died at the age of 71 on July 24 after suffering a 'serious medical issue' at his Clearwater, Florida home. 5 Fitness influencer Joey Swoll addresses his followers after taking down his Hulk Hogan tribute on July 28, 2025. Joey Swoll/X Swoll was known for making videos where he outed 'gym bullies' and held them accountable for the way they treated others on a mission to create a positive gym environment. The social media influencer said he faced backlash from upset followers during a livestream a day after posting the tribute. 'I would be a hypocrite if I didn't hold myself to the same standards. I am human, I am still growing and learning and I promise to all of you I will do better,' he said. 'I have nothing but love and kindness in my heart, I will continue to try and make the world a better place.' Swoll, whose real name is Joey Sergo, then returned to social media on Tuesday to say he was 'done' and that 'people just wait for a reason to hate you.' 'All the good I've done, all the people I've helped, all for nothing. I truly hope all the people I've inspired do great things in their life and pay it forward to help others and carry on my message,' Swoll wrote on X. 'But no matter how much good you do, people just wait for a reason to hate you and tear you down. You either die a hero, or live long enough to be the villain. Thank you for your support. I am done.' 'Instead of listening and understanding like I should've, I became defensive and said 'I was posting to celebrate the wrestling icon, the person so many of us looked up to as kids that we grew up with. That made us tear off our shirts and take our vitamins and say our prayers,'' Swoll said. Swoll had often recycled the workout video dressed as Hogan. In October 2020, he posted the same clip as Hogan's 'Real American' theme song served as the background music. Swoll claims he was unaware of the extent of Hogan's scandals and later researched the wrestler. 'Since last night I have done a lot of research and learned all of the horrible, horrible things that man has done, which is way more than just making a mistake and being human,' Swoll said. 5 Joey Swoll wears a Hulk Hogan Halloween costume in an old video he reposted to pay tribute to the wrestling icon on July 25, 2025. Swoll said he was met with backlash again, moments later, when he used the word 'colored' instead of the term 'person of color' during the livestream. 'It is a very outdated, very offensive term. Someone educated me and told me that it wasn't ok to use that, which I immediately apologized to everyone and said 'I would never do that again,'' he added.
