Mondelēz International revealed it is not always the company's decision as to when festive treats are released in supermarkets.
It explained that retailers are free to choose when products appear on shelves, and "due to supply chain reasons, some products will be on shelves a little earlier".
A Mondelēz International spokesperson said: "Most of our range will be available from August 2025, through to Christmas and as long as stocks last.
"Due to supply chain reasons, some products will be on shelves a little earlier than that."

Mathew Horne fights back tears over sudden death of Gavin and Stacey colleague
Mathew Horne fought back tears while telling crowds he'd just been told a crew member from Gavin and Stacey had died. The actor, 46, starred as Gavin Shipman in the BBC comedy alongside Joanna Page, James Corden, and Ruth Jones since it began in 2007 until its final episode on Christmas Day 2024. He was being interviewed on stage for an In Conversation With session in Taunton, Somerset, when he suddenly became emotional and told the audience he'd only just received the news when it had been shared on the cast WhatsApp group. Horne said, via The Sun: 'Sorry. I got distracted. Earlier on… we had a driver on the finale called Rob and he was in his early 40s… and I found out via the Whatsapp group earlier that he has passed away and I got slightly distracted there. 'It's really, really sad. I got distracted by losing Rob. 'He was a really lovely guy and he's left a four-year-old behind and that is really, really, really sad.' Horne also shared how close the cast had become since bonding 'like a family' over the last 18 years. For the main actors, their lives changed beyond recognition and the show became one of the most popular British comedies of all time. He explained: 'In 2019, before the Christmas special – part one of the finale if you like – aired, I lost my mother and Alison really stepped up and she became my surrogate mother off screen as well. 'Whenever she texts me even now she signs it 'Mum'. And that is cool. That is so beautiful. And she says, 'How are you, my little prince?' It means the world to me.' Gavin and Stacey ended on Christmas Day, 2024, with a feature-length episode that attracted a staggering 19.1million viewers. Fans waited five years to find out if Smithy accepted Nessa's proposal to quickly discover he was getting married – but not to her. Instead, the episode followed Smithy gearing up to marry Sonia – his insufferable girlfriend who his friends and family couldn't stand. Thankfully, fans got their happy ending, Smithy jilted Sonia at the aisle and raced across the country to find Nessa and get down on one knee. There has, however, been talk of potential spin-offs with other characters such as Dawn and Pete, played by Julia Davis and Adrian Scarborough respectively, keeping the spirit of Gavin and Stacey alive. Currently scheduled to air at 9:30pm, it seems like telly watchers will be opting not to tune in after branding it the 'worst' show ever. Commenting on the programme on X: "Worst programme in human history should've never been commissioned." Another added: "Just speechless... I honestly don't know one person who thinks this show is remotely funny." A third also posted: "I don't know anyone who will admit to liking, or even just watching, this show." Brendan was forced to apologise over a racial joke but later told how he thought it was a "good thing" for the BBC as it allowed them to raise awareness. Crew were left 'shocked' when O'Carroll made a racial slur during rehearsals for the beloved comedy's Christmas special and complained to bosses. Production was suspended whilst the Beeb launched an investigation and he later said he 'deeply regretted' his "clumsy attempt at a joke". However, he bizarrely shared his belief the BBC came out of it well, as it showed they took action. Brendan said: 'The one thing that that incident did is give great awareness about racism, and great awareness about the BBC, they don't take any messing. Asda customers furiously react after spotting Christmas stock on shelves already
Brits have reacted in disbelief after discovering that a number of Christmas sweets and chocolates hit the shelves of Asda supermarkets before July had concluded They say Christmas comes earlier every year, and that certainly appears to be true in one supermarket where festive treats hit the shelves in July. Social media's UK Newest Foods, which is devoted to providing details of the latest sweet treats to arrive in-store, shared a video from Asda after spotting a number of Yuletide sweets. " Christmas in July at Asda as Christmas food is starting to arrive!" the account began in a TikTok video posted yesterday (July 31). UK Newest Foods headed to the confectionary aisle, where they proceeded to showcase what's on offer. After beginning with gingerbread-flavoured Malteser Mini Reindeers share bags, they went on to highlight packets of Haribo Merry-Mix and Cadbury Mini Snow Balls. More Mini Reindeers followed in mint flavour, while Asda is also well-stocked with Haribo Elf Surprises and bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Mint Crisp it seems. Tubs of Quality Street and Celebrations have also returned, the size of which will no doubt cause a stir in the coming months as they do year on year. UK Newest Foods' clip prompted hundreds of TikTok users to react in disbelief, one of whom penned: "So wait? Halloween stuff is out? Easter stuff is still out? Christmas stuff is out? Have we all just collectively given up trying to judge the passage of time or...?" A second person added: "Oh I'm struggling with Halloween, done my peace with autumn. But I draw the li ne at Christmas. It's July." A third commented: "I can see people be bored of seeing this by September." And a fourth TikTok user ranted: "This just shows how commercialised Christmas is. It's f***ing July." Others, however, praised the early arrivals, claiming it helps Brits budget more effectively in time for Christmas. "I think it's great stores put stuff out early because the high in demand stuff always goes so quickly and those looking to buy on a budget can add things to their weekly shop in the run up to Xmas," one person explained. Another concurred: "Great for people who need to budget they can start early." A third individual agreed: "It's always fun to see Christmas come early! The holiday treats look delicious already." While a fourth TikTok user joked: "I buy it in advance to budget, but I have no self control so eat it all and have to re-buy it all!" Earlier this year it was reported that Asda, which is the UK's third biggest chain - saw a sales slump of 5.8% during the 2024 festive season, according to data from the analyst firm Kantar. Figures revealed that Asda was the only major UK supermarket to perform worse compared to the previous year. Spending in Asda stores fell to £4.59billion in the 12 weeks to December 29 - down from £4.87billion in 2023.
