Chicken Wing Challenge: Brighton eatery partners with ‘Hot Ones' talk show
The popular talk show 'Hot Ones' is partnering with a local eatery to share its noteworthy sauces for customers to sample, if you're up for the challenge.
'Hot Ones' is hosted by interviewer Sean Evans, where celebrities in all fields meet for questions over a plate of chicken wings and the show's name-brand hot sauces.
'Hot Ones reached out to us about a month ago. We both agreed mutually that this would be a good partnership. We sell a lot of chicken wings and we give a lot of chicken wings away. Chicken wings is sort of in our wheelhouse, and Hot Ones has got a great reputation,' said Sal Panella, who owns MicGinny's on the River, which has been running on Brighton's East River Road for 15 years.
In that time, Panella says their reputation has grown strong, especially for their wings. MicGinny's is the only regional business, for now, selected to take part.
'It's just been word of mouth. This is one of those brands that's going to sell itself. You'll have to order from Uber Eats, Door Dash, or Grubhub. We won't be selling them in the actual restaurant. But, you can order them for takeout,' he said.
Much like the series, News 8's Natalie Kucko decided to get in the hot seat, sampling the hottest sauce the show has to offer.
Whether customers prefer their wings mild, or with the heat turned all the way up, Panella says MicGinny's is proud to take part in something so fun and unique.
'You don't have to go out and spend $120 on a whole kit with all the sauces. For less than $20, you can get a sampling and do that right at home. We consume more chicken wings in the northeast than anywhere else in the world. A brand like this has to be strong to penetrate this market. I'm confident this brand will compliment what we've been doing in upstate New York for the last 50 years,' said Panella.
To try the flavors at home, you're asked to visit 'Hot Ones' website and enter the appropriate location and information.

Pete Davidson's Most Humiliating Tattoo
You're already aware that Pete Davidson has gotten a lot of tattoos — so many, in fact, that he's currently in the process of getting all of them covered up. Obviously, anyone who's gotten as many tattoos as Pete is going to have a few ink-related regrets — and during a recent appearance on Hot Ones, the comedian and actor revealed the most "humiliating" tat he ever sat down to receive. Drumroll, please... The tattoo in question was on Pete's chest, and it was a compliment that comedian Dave Chappelle once paid him after Pete did a set at the age of "19 or 20." Allow Pete to explain: 'This was before [Dave] was back, so seeing him was like crazy, going 'What the fuck?'," he recalled. "And I got off stage and he was like, 'I watched your whole set — it was really good,' and I was like, 'Oh, thanks.'" "I was like, 'You know, how do you keep coming up with new stuff? I'm working on new stuff and it's like difficult,' and he goes, 'Jokes come and go, but swag is forever.' And guess who got that tattooed on his chest?' Apparently, Pete found the tattoo so embarrassing that he actually covered it up with a different tattoo at one point. Can you guess what he chose? Time's up! If you guessed "the shark from Jaws," then congratulations on taking a huge risk and hitting it big, I suppose. 'I covered it with Jaws because I needed something huge to black it out," Pete explained. "I just put a giant shark over it. That's pretty bad, dude – but he was like my idol. He still is, but that's so dumb. I could've just told people he said that to me." Hey, we've all been there — right? Maybe not. Watch the whole segment with Pete right here.

Billie Eilish's Comments About It Being 'Really Cool' To Be Surrounded By People Who Look 'Exactly Like' Her In Ireland Were Taken Completely Out Of Context
On Monday, Billie Eilish was causing a stir on social media after an eyebrow-raising clip from one of her recent Dublin concerts emerged online. For reference, the 23-year-old star is currently in the midst of her Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour, which kicked off back in September. And on Saturday, the show arrived in Ireland for two dates at Dublin's 3Arena venue — and American-born Billie was excited to be in the Emerald Isle due to her Irish ancestry. However, a comment that the singer made at one of her weekend shows sparked backlash when it was later shared to X. Related: In the clip, Billie tells the cheering crowd: 'As you know, I'm Irish, so it's cool to be here.' 'Obviously I'm not from here, duh,' she went on. 'But it's really cool to come somewhere and everybody looks exactly like you.' TikTok @@ / Via Related: The video has already been seen more than 33 million times since it was posted just one day ago, with tens of thousands of people quick to share their reactions in the replies and quote tweets. Needless to say, there were a few jokes that instantly went viral, with one quote-tweet quipping: 'y'all got white people dressed like Fat Joe in ireland?' However, others had a more concerning interpretation of Billie's comments, and one tweet that has been liked more than 172,000 times at the time of writing reads: 'Everyone here is white like me.' Another popular tweet echoed: 'crazy fucking statement to make as a fucking white woman.' And one more claimed: 'Billie really said 'wow that's a lot of white people, i like it here!'' Related: But it turns out that this hugely viral clip was actually taken completely out of context, with the video cutting just before Billie drops the punchline to what was obviously a self-deprecating joke related to stereotypes around Irish people. In the full video, Billie is poking fun at how pale she is, with her entire quote actually being: 'It's really cool to come somewhere and everybody looks exactly like you... You're all just as pasty as me!' Fans of Billie will know that she often jokes about how pale she is — something that she even referenced during her 2021 Saturday Night Live monologue, where she quipped: "I know I look like I've been locked in a basement for 17 years.' Related: And during her appearance on Hot Ones, she confessed: 'I'm so pale that you can literally see every vein in my body when I get hot.' Replying to the full video, one person admitted: 'I do agree that the sentence on its own sounds dumb as hell, but context matters.'
