Dr Jasim Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, emphasised that the Challenge embodies the Award's vision to enhance social and environmental responsibility among individuals and institutions. He added that every tree planted and every piece of recycled waste is a step toward a more sustainable future. Such a challenge is not only a call for participation but also a message of awareness carrying the values of giving and shared responsibility.

She further noted that "Our Heaven is with You" also extends to health, psychological, and social support, as well as efforts to integrate elderly people into society by involving them in activities and competitions that enhance mobility, occupy their spare time, and positively affect their overall health. She added that all relevant SSSD departments contribute to implementing the project, while institutions across various sectors can support it through financial or in-kind sponsorships directly channelled towards programmes that improve the quality of life for the elderly. The department also enables institutions and individuals to participate through multiple channels, including donations via text messages, bank transfers through Sharjah Islamic Bank, or by engaging with SSSD's social media platforms. The initiative reflects Sharjah's vision of sustainable community development and highlights the importance of engaging the elderly in public life as a deeply rooted human and cultural value deserving of support and appreciation at all stages of life. What's new in the 2025 edition? The 2025 edition of "Our Heaven is with You" introduces fresh concepts and wider outreach, covering all SSSD branches in Sharjah and extending promotional activities to other emirates. Stronger partnerships with government bodies, private institutions, and charities enabled this expansion, with the aim of boosting community participation and attracting more contributors. This year's edition features smart technologies to facilitate contributions and documentation, including mobile payment devices at promotional points and QR codes on the initiative's bags to record community participation instantly and accurately. Additionally, a range of volunteering opportunities has been introduced, allowing people of all ages to take part in various stages of the project, from promotion and preparation of bags to accompanying field teams and distributing gifts to elderly beneficiaries in their homes. Housing Department promotes family stability in 'Al Qutaina 1'
Architectural diversity Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Hamad Saleh Al Hammadi confirmed that "Al Qutaina 1" project offers architectural diversity, allowing beneficiaries to choose one of three design facades: local, modern, or Islamic. This is before they enter an electronic lottery to determine the location of their home within the project. The department has reinforced this approach with streamlined procedures, communicating directly with beneficiaries and inviting them to its headquarters to receive keys and complete transactions quickly and efficiently, embodying its commitment to facilitating government services. Safe and comfortable housing The Head of the Media Department pointed to the technical support provided by the department to beneficiaries. The Planning and Survey Department team provided detailed maps of each home, while a field follow-up team was formed to visit families after receipt and inspect the homes to ensure their readiness for safe and comfortable housing. The project is the first of several phases embodying institutional integration that seeks to improve the quality of residential life through designs that meet families' needs while preserving their privacy. Al Hammadi added that the delivery of the first phase reflects the project's rapid completion and the department's commitment to the planned timeline. He noted that subsequent phases will witness further improvements and design options, meeting citizens' aspirations and enhancing the level of housing services in the emirate.
