The raid, conducted under Ops Tiris, also led to the arrest of six foreign workers suspected of transporting the fuel to telecommunications towers.
Pahang KPDN chief enforcement officer Mohd Hafiz Ramli stated that the operation followed a month-long intelligence operation.
'Based on the documents submitted, this premise does not have a permit to store diesel at the location, thus raising suspicions of a violation of the law,' he said.
Six foreign nationals, including four Bangladeshis and two Myanmar citizens aged between 20 and 29, were detained. Investigations revealed they had been operating in the area for over a year, supplying diesel to 33 telecommunications towers for generator use.
Authorities also confiscated two four-wheel drive vehicles loaded with diesel drums, valued at RM140,000, along with related documents. The case is being investigated under Regulation 21(1) of the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974 and Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961. - Bernama

'Close inspections through Ops Kesan 4.0 will continue to be carried out to protect con- sumers from unjustified price hikes,' she said during a spot check at a supermarket in Johor Baru. The inspections, she said, would focus on types of goods and services covered under SST, businesses exceeding the tax threshold, period of price and service charge adjustments and margin movements. 'Between July 1 and 21, a total of 48 business premises involving 235 stock keeping units (SKUs) were inspected,' Lilis Saslinda said. 'All 48 premises were given Goods Information Verification Notices (NPMB) to gather pricing, cost and profit margin data from traders. 'Enforcement officers will continue to monitor and use daily price data to detect irregularities.' Ops Kesan 4.0, which began on July 1, was launched following the revision and expansion of SST. It is meant to ensure traders do not exploit the tax changes to unjustifiably increase prices of their goods and services. The operation is carried out under Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. Individuals found guilty of profiteering could face fines of up to RM100,000, jailed up to three years, or both. Companies may be fined up to RM500,000. Burglar nabbed after returning to crime scene to retrieve belongings
BALIK PULAU: A man who broke into a house in Batu Maung was caught after he returned to the scene to retrieve items he had left behind. The matter came to light in a viral video posted on the Facebook account "Amigos Media Viral" this afternoon. Southwest police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam said initial investigations revealed that the suspect had entered the home through the back door while the domestic helper was outside disposing of rubbish. "Upon realising the presence of the complainant, the suspect fled the scene. "However, he later returned to the house to collect belongings he had left behind. "The complainant and several friends managed to apprehend the suspect and handed him over to members of a patrol unit on duty in Batu Maung," he said in a statement. Sazalee said the suspect had been detained and would be brought to the Balik Pulau magistrate's court tomorrow for a remand application. "Preliminary urine tests showed the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and benzodiazepines. "The suspect also has a prior criminal record for a drug-related offence," he added. Police advised the public to ensure that all doors and windows are properly locked and that home security systems are in working condition to prevent similar incidents. The case is being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for house trespass, which carries a maximum jail term of three years, a fine of up to RM5,000, or both.

Chinese national fined for overstaying in Sabah
KOTA KINABALU (Aug 4): An Immigration Court here fined a Chinese national RM10,000, in default, six months' jail for overstaying in Sabah. Judge Hurman Hussain imposed the fine on Wang Hongzang after the latter pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 15 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, punishable under Section 15 (4) of the same Act. Wang, who holds a People's Republic of China passport, admitted to committing the offence at the departure hall of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on July 16. The charge stated that Wang had overstayed in the state after his social visit pass had expired for one month and 12 days. The pass only valid until June 5. Wang had paid his fine.
