Woman gasps 'what have we done?!' as she faces disastrous home makeover - while seething husband fumes 'the designer should be locked in a cupboard!'

A woman gasped 'what have we done?!' as she faced a disastrous home makeover in a previous episode of Your Home In Their Hands.
The British makeover show, which only aired six episodes across one series, was on our screens between September 2014 and February 2015.
The premises of the programme is that home owners give all their trust to designers to totally transform their pads - however they have no idea that they are just amateur designers.
Although the show was on our screens a decade ago, there are some pretty hilarious moments from it that stand out as iconic television.
The first ever episode, which is presented by Celia Sawyer, sees Kelly and Andy - from Hatfield - want something a little bit different.
Kelly explained that she wants something with colour, whereas her partners would be happy with a 'tin of white paint'.
The British makeover show, which only aired six episodes across one series, was on our screens between September 2014 and February 2015
At the end of the instalment they were shown their brand new home.
As they walked into the bedroom, they both said: 'Oh my God.'
Kelly added: 'What have we done?!'
She continued: 'I don't like the tapestries, I don't like the red ceiling. What about you?'
Celia told Andy: 'You've got to be honest.'
Andy bluntly said: 'I don't like it.'
Celia asked: 'Does this make you think perhaps Kelly's feature wall was actually not that vibrant and bold after all?'
Andy replied: 'Maybe it was quite safe.'
Kelly chimed in: 'At least I only had one wall... This is every wall isn't it?!'
Celia asked if they wanted her to relay any messages back to the designers.
Andy replied: 'I'd like Nick to take control and Kirsty maybe locked in the cupboard.'
Kelly said: 'This is colour overload I think, definitely.
'The red and all the tapestry on the wall is way too much. '
Many have rushed to YouTube to share their thoughts on the segment.
'Just watched a few clips of this show. Every room is horrible.. are they doing this on purpose?'
Many rushed to the comments section on YouTube to share their thoughts - and while mostly were negative, there was also some positive ones
'I feel like they do it on purpose.'
'Oh my God, not an inch of that room that doesn't give me a headache.'
'How the hell did this get the approval of a whole team? I can only imagine a very few selection of 7 year old girls liking this..
'Looks like everything's been wrapped in the foil papers you used to back your books with at school. Awful.'
But others shared that they were a fan of the new interior.
'Not gonna lie I like it lmao. Except for the random things on the walls. '
'I like it.'
'I love the colors.'
It comes after a grimacing man raged 'it's an absolute mess!' after being shown his new bedroom on the TV show.
Couple John and Rachel Geoghegan appeared on Your Home In Their Hands 10 years ago.
The pair had opposing preferences, with Rachel wanting more colour, while John was a fan of more plain interiors.
At the end of the episode interior designer Celia Sawyer took them around their new home - and they were very pleased with the living room.
However things took a nasty turn when they were shown their new bedroom.
John couldn't hide how unimpressed he was with the interior moments after opening their eyes.
Celia asked: 'What do you think Rachel?... You've got your colour!'
After a very awkward silence she replied: 'Yeah I do. I like the wardrobes and...'
John chimed in: 'Nah it's too much. For me it's too busy. I wouldn't have done anything like it and I don't like it.
'You're supposed to be able to go to sleep in a bedroom and it's like a kid's play area.
'I think it looks horrendous. It doesn't look anything like a bedroom.
'Sorry it's a big thumbs down from me. It's hideous. I think its even too much for Rachel if she were to tell the truth.'
Celia was keen to find out her thoughts and asked: 'Is it, Rachel?'
John didn't hold back and told the presenter: 'Nah it's too much. For me it's too busy. I wouldn't have done anything like it and I don't like it'
Rachel sheepishly confessed: 'I do like... I do like the bed and the wardrobes...
'I like the theme of it.'
Celia added: 'So overall you quite like it?'
'Hmm... yeah,' Rachel said.
A very unimpressed John simply chimed in: 'It's rank. I don't like it at all. Definitely not.'
Celia tried to change the mood and told him: 'I think Rachel likes it though, John?
'I know you're telling her she doesn't, but I think she does!'
John told the presenter: 'I'll leave it to her.'
Celia hit back: 'But you're answering for her! I haven't heard much out of Rachel's mouth actually. Come on, Rachel!'
'I think it'll grow on us, I like, I like the bed and the wardrobes, I did ask for colour,' Rachel said.
John told the presenter: 'If Rachel likes it, so be it.'
'So if Rachel likes it, can you keep it the same?' Celia asked.
And John told her: 'Not for long.'
Celia then questioned John and said: 'So you were going to accept what Rachel wanted, you said if she's happy she's fine, what you're saying now, it isn't fine?'
John didn't hold back with his opinion and told the host: 'It's rank. Horrible. Nah. Sorry. It's not for me.'
Celia wanted to know if he had a message for the designer, to which he said: 'Don't touch the other room.'
After taking a moment and reflecting away from the bedroom, Rachel said: 'We took a chance when we handed the keys over. She's done colour. What I asked for. It might grow on you.'
John simply replied: 'Fungus grows - that's horrible.'
Many rushed to share their thoughts on whether Rachel actually liked the new look, while others couldn't contain their laughter.
'The first room was horrendous as well and I do believe the wife hates the bedroom as well. She looks like she is holding back the tears.'
'"It might grow on you." "Fungus grows." [laughing emojis].'
'"I've not heard much from Rachel" Rachel can't speak as she's holding tears [laughing emojis].'
'Lmaoooo 'So, What message do you have for the designer?' — 'Dont touch the other room'.'
Many rushed to the comments section on YouTube to share their thoughts on the moment that happened back in 2015
'The level of second hand embarrassment here was overwhelming [laughing emojis].'
'Rachel looks like she's holding back tears. I agree with the husband. I think Rachel's too polite because she did ask for colour.'
'I'd LOVE to know what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. What the couple did next?'
The synopsis of Your Home In Their Hands reads: 'Makeover show in which desperate homeowners hand over their door keys to amateur interior designers, hoping they can solve their design dilemmas.'

Royal Ascot racegoers forced to stump up or face missing out on final day after flouting unknown dress code - as racing fans rush to defend strict rules

Royal Ascot revellers have been forced to stump up or face missing out on the final day of the meet after flouting one of the lesser known dress regulations. While ladies have to wear a hat or headpiece with a base of at least four inches in the Royal Enclosure and men must wear a jacket, collared shirt and tie, few are aware that men are also obliged to wear socks. And despite being dressed lavishly from head to toe, some sockless men were stopped at the gates by dress code staff and forced to buy a £5 pair or face missing out on the event. Images have emerged on social media of racegoers trying on their new pairs in a dressing room before being allowed in. Royal Ascot states that 'socks must be worn at all times' and they should be 'covering the ankle'. The firm clothing regulations also mean checks have taken place to ensure that ladies have their shoulders covered. Racing fans rushed to defend the strict sock rules on social media. 'Love the idea of someone spending hundreds on a suit, hat, and champagne... only to be undone by a rogue ankle and a rebellious shoulder. Peak British drama,' one wrote. 'This is brilliant. Nothing worse than someone wearing a suit without socks,' another added. Racegoers have had to abide by the racecourse's strict dressing rules despite temperatures soaring past 30 degrees this week. Punters sweltered during the hottest week of the year but while Ascot provided them with water, their uncompromising dress code stayed intact. The outfits rules were last relaxed due to high temperatures in 2022 and this year Ascot instead provided free water at hydration stations and bottled water was handed out as people left the venue. The strict dress code enforcement comes just a day after a bloody brawl between young men, who were both suited and booted, took place at the famous venue. West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle joined the crowds of racegoers on Ascot's final day A shocking video emerged online of the duo viciously swinging punches at one another, at the prestigious Berkshire event. For a short moment, the pair grip each other before one plummeted to the ground after being hit once again. Stunned attendees at the racing event were left staring in horror, as a group of men attempt to separate the brawling pair. The group could briefly be heard telling the fighting men: 'Stop, stop, boys.' While one man, dressed in a grey suit, was dragged away, the other was picked up from the ground with blood gushing from his face.

Jo Wood, 70, looks as glamorous as ever as she steps out alongside her son Tyrone at event in Nice - after AWKWARD run-in with her ex husband Ronnie Wood

Jo Wood looked typically glamorous as she stepped out for the Thirty Six for Coral event in Nice alongside her son Tyrone on Friday night. The model, 70, and her son had flown across the channel for an art exhibition supporting the preservation of coral. And Jo continued to prove age is just a number as she beamed in snaps while sporting a simple but classy black silk dress. Wearing her blonde locks up, the former Strictly contestant layered her look with a green floral jacket before accessorising with a glitzy brown bag. She posed for photos alongside her son Tyrone, 41, who she shares with her former husband rock and roll legend Ronnie Wood, 78. Ty cut a dapper figure for the evening, sporting a navy suit over an unbuttoned white shirt. The model was joined at the event by her son Tyrone, 41, who cut a dapper figure in a navy suit for the evening The 41-year-old and his mother were joined at the event by Ty's wife, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden's daughter, Faye. She wowed on the evening in an elegant beige and white dress which complemented her light brown hair. The couple tied the knot last summer at The Old Town Marylebone Hall in London and Faye shared snaps of the happy couple to her Instagram following the special day, showing her and her spouse beaming after saying their vows. Speaking ahead of the wedding last year, Ty's father Ronnie - who has been pretty private about his children - said it was 'amazing' to see his son getting married. Ty's appearance in southern France alongside his mother comes after Jo had a shock during a recent holiday to the Bahamas when she ended up staying in the same hotel as Ronnie. She told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden: 'I'd only been there a day and I walked into the hotel restaurant and there was Ronnie with his wife and kids. 'You should have seen his face when he saw me.' Ronnie is now married to theatre producer Sally, 31 years his junior, with whom he has twin daughters. Jo added: 'I'm no stalker.' Jo was married to rocker Ronnie for 24 years between 1985-2011 and the two share children Leah, 46, and Tyrone. She also became stepmother to Ronnie's son Jesse, 48, from his first marriage. She is also mum to another son, Jamie, 50, from her first marriage to clothing entrepreneur Peter Greene. Jo recently revealed the hilarious nickname given to her by her grandchildren as she admitted they know all about her wild drug-taking rock and roll past. The former wife of The Rolling Stones guitarist was known for embracing the party lifestyle in her younger days. And the star admitted her grandchildren are now calling her 'Gangsta Granny' after she revealed some of her past antics to them. Speaking on Good Housekeeping UK's podcast My Life in A Biscuit Tin, Jo said: 'I know I shouldn't say this, but I was in the car with them and they were giggling, two of them [grandchildren, Maggie and Kobe]. 'They went, "Gran, have you done any drugs?" I said, "Of course I have, but I don't recommend it". 'I said, "Because it didn't get me anywhere except lots of sleepless nights". Explaining how she believes it is important to be honest with your family she added: 'You can't be dishonest, because they'll find out. 'So, I tried to warn them it was a waste of time, but I was in a very special situation. So then they said, "We're going to call you Gangster Gran from now on."' She has 10 grandchildren in total, four from Jamie, two from Leah and four from Jesse. Last year Jo revealed she had left her wild nights of partying behind for an eco-friendly countryside cottage. The TV personality moved to the old farmhouse in 2019 and has embraced 'off-grid' living, generating her own electricity and nurturing her own vegetable patch. Aside from WiFi, she more or less lives self-sufficiently and has traded in her days of drinking and joints for homegrown veg and is even creating a capsule supplement called Longevity to boost her health.

Inside Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's 3-day Venetian wedding with star-studded guest list, $500m yacht, & unique gifts

BILLIONAIRE Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sanchez are preparing to tie the knot in a lavish three-day wedding in Venice next week. The couple have remained tight-lipped about the upcoming nuptials but as the date nears, more details about the star-studded extravaganza have emerged. 9 9 9 The 61-year-old Amazon founder proposed to Sanchez, a former TV journalist, with a multi-million dollar ring on his yacht in May 2023. Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, confirmed in March that the popular Italian city would host the couple and their guests for the highly-anticipated ceremony. He said the city was "extremely proud" the couple had chosen it for their wedding and called it "an honor that Bezos is coming to Venice". The happy couple appear to be keeping the celebration intimate with reports of around 200 guests being invited. But that relatively small list is thought to include some big names including celebrities, politicians, and business moguls. This is certainly the case if Sanchez's star-studded Parisian bachelorette party is anything to go by. The final hoorah before the "wedding of the century" was attended by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, and Eva Longoria. Multiple reports suggest stars including Leonardo Di Caprio, Orlando Bloom, Mick Jagger, and Beyoncé, are expected to attend as well as Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. The upcoming bash is said to be as extravagant as a royal wedding with Sanchez's brother Paul telling TMZ it would "be like a Princess Di thing". "It's gonna be an amazing event. It's gonna be star-studded and fun," he said. The couples' children from their previous marriages are also expected to be in attendance. Bezos has four children with his ex-wife Mackenzie Scott and Sanchez has two children with her ex-husband Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell and a son with ex-football player Tony Gonzalez. Exact details for the celebrations have been kept under wraps but are believed to kick off on June 24 and end on June 26, a spokesperson for Brugnaro told CNN. As preparations are underway, city officials told NBC News. that 30 water taxis out of 280 have been reserved and up to four hotels have been booked. LIFE OF LUXURY These are thought to be several luxury venues along the Grand Canal including the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, the Grand Aman Hotel, the St Regis Venis, and the Gritti Palace. A room at The Aman, built in 1550, will set you back at least $2,700 per night, with prices going up to $10,000. This is where the couple are said to be staying, per TMZ, as sources claim the entire hotel has been booked out from June 25 to June 29. City officials added that "the celebrations, attended by 250 guests, will blend into the daily rhythm of a city". "Once again, Venice proves to be a world stage," Brugnaro said. 9 9 9 The actual ceremony is reported to be taking place on Bezos' $500 million yacht which will be in the Venetian lagoon, according to People. Meanwhile, the whole island of San Giorgio Maggiore which lies opposite St Mark's Square has reportedly been booked out. A source told the Daily Mail that the whole island will be "off limits to visitors" from June 24 to June 29. The power couple have also booked the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a grand event building in the city's historic center, per the outlet. The couple are said to be using mainly local vendors to cater for the huge event. Around 80 percent of the wedding is to be locally sourced including from Rosa Salva, the city's oldest pastry maker and Laguna B, a studio famed for its hand-blown Murano glass. Rosa Salva, which has been in business since 1876, has been asked to provide an array of surprises for goody bags , Antonio Rosa Salva revealed. It is not known how Laguna B will contribute to the celebrations, with the business remaining tight-lipped. One source told The Mail that a celebrity wedding planner not connected to the event has been told guests are being given "opulent" gifts just to attend. The three-day celebrations could cost as much as $21 million, The Mail reported. 9 9 9 'JUST BEGINNING' The 55-year-old bride is thought to have taken on the majority of the organizing for the big day, as Sanchez previously told Today that she has been obsessively adding to her Pinterest board "like every other bride". "I'm very excited about it, thinking about the dress. I have to say, I do have a Pinterest. I'm just like every other bride," she told Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb back in November. "I never thought at 54 — I'm going to be 55 — that I'd be an author, that I'd be getting married. I mean, life is just beginning." Her billionaire husband-to-be told Vogue in 2023 that he would not have any involvement in the planning saying, "Oh, God no. Do I look that dumb?" when asked if he would be helping out. As some locals launch protests against the wedding taking place in their city, officials have reassured them that they will not be adversely affected. Fears are increasing among some Venetians that they are being priced out of their own city by tourism. "The city is fully accustomed to hosting high-profile events of this nature and scale, including other celebrity weddings, international summits such as the G7 and G20, as well as traditional events like the Festa del Redentore and the Venice Biennale," city hall officials told NBC. "The celebrations, attended by 250 guests, will blend into the daily rhythm of a city that, with dignity and respect, welcomes thousands of visitors from around the world while safeguarding the quality of life for its residents, workers, and students. "Protest initiatives are in no way representative of the majority of citizens, who are proud that Venice has been chosen as the wedding location".
