ITV Coronation Street fans demand for Sally and Tim Metcalfe as future 'confirmed'
Coronation Street fans are calling on hopes that both Sally and Tim Metcalfe are protected from any potential harm. It comes as their future on the Cobbles appears to 'set in stone.'
Viewers will recall that recent episodes of the ITV soap have shown Tim attempting to persuade his wife Sally to consider fostering as an option. The idea was sparked by Tim's desire to assist Mason Radcliffe, who tragically lost his life earlier this year after being stabbed by his own brother.
Sally was initially not on board with the idea, when weighing up their exisiting commitments and lives after raising their own children. However Tim went behind his wife's back and arranged a meeting to discuss fostering which left her stunned.
Tim's eagerness to support children continued as he encountered Lou Michaelis and her two young daughters in his taxi, after she was attempting to flee her violent husband Mick, who had fatally attacked PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) whilst on duty.
Sally was at first upset about Tim having a meeting to explore the options of becoming a foster parent without discussing it. However she eventually came around to the idea, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
She has now firmly pledged to care for the Michaelis kids as she made her intentions clear during a confrontation with Mick, following his recent prison escape.
ITV viewers witnessed Mick plan his own escape from behind bars, as he hid under a laundry van before later emerging on the street.
In collusion with Brody, the teenager alerted him to his daughter Joanie's presence at Weatherfield High, where she had been attending a taster day and was bullied by some of her peers. He promptly arrived at the school.
However, Sally had already collected Joanie after the young girl was distressed by the children's remarks about her incarcerated parents, with Lou also behind bars for her assault on Gary Windass.
Daniel Osbourne and Mrs Crawshaw were taken aback when they encountered Mick, who insisted they hand over Joanie. A frightened Mrs Crawshaw informed Mick that Joanie had already been collected, but he remained sceptical, leading to a brief struggle over the phone.
After confining Mrs Crawshaw and Daniel in the office, Mick made his way to the street, where Sally was introducing Joanie to Underworld. DC Kit Green, aware of Mick's escape, was hot on his trail and spotted his old friend heading towards the factory.
Mick took Tim and Sarah Platt hostage in the office and as Kit followed, tensions escalated when Mick realised that Sally had whisked Joanie onto the roof in an attempt to evade him.
Sally was seen consoling the young girl amid the incident unfolding below in the factory, with Mick stabbing Kit and leaving him fighting for his life as he ascended to the roof, where Sally was able to confront him with some hard truths.
Sally gave Mick her word in her final moments with him, promising to care for Joanie and Shanice and offering them a brighter future as he surrendered to the authorities.
While Sally holds the fort at home, Lou remains incarcerated, telling Brody from prison that she sees no hope of release before her trial. Next week's Corrie spoilers confirm she's set for an extended stay behind bars, following her attempt to extort Gary and subsequently assaulting him, resulting in Gary lying in hospital.
Coronation Street fans have been quick to speculate on how this development will affect Tim and Sally's storyline, some even drawing parallels between them and a legendary couple from Weatherfield.
One Twitter user quipped: "The way sally and tim are becoming the new jack and vera. why are they taking in every child may i ask? #Corrie."
Another remarked: "Sally and Tim are well adopting those weans #Corrie," as a third stated with optimism: "I really hope sally and Tim adopt the girls #corrie."
One fan declared: "Protect Sally and Tim at all cost...don't care what happens to anybody else really.#corrie." Someone else expressed support, adding: "I am so here for Sally and Tim being parents to the two girls #corrie."

Bradley Walsh reveals The Chase 'ban' and says 'I'd be fired'
The Chase host Bradley Walsh has been presenting the ITV gameshow since it first aired in 2009 and appeared on BBC's The One Show ahead of the new series. Bradley Walsh has cautioned he'd be "fired" from The Chase if he implemented any major alterations. The cherished host, 65, has fronted the ITV quiz show since it launched in 2009, and is set to grace our screens again with a fresh series. Nevertheless, Bradley has assured viewers it won't differ from the usual format. Whilst appearing on The One Show tonight (Friday 15 August), Bradley faced questions about his hectic timetable. "You've got The Chase coming up, you've got Beat The Chasers as well, anything different we can expect from these series?" presenter Clara Amfo enquired, reports Bristol Live. Bradley promptly responded: "No they're the same, they're what you see on the tin. "I'm not allowed to do anything different, I think I'd get fired if I did anything different. "You've got to stick to the rules, and stick to the format." He continued: "You can have a laugh in between." This follows Bradley confessing he doesn't object to being perceived as "old and grumpy" whilst discussing his altered attitude towards the projects he accepts given his packed schedule. He revealed: "People say to me 'you never stop working', but here's the thing, and I tell every young performer this, 'if you enjoy the job you do, you will never do a day's work in your life'. "It's as simple as that. I try and have as much time as I possibly can off, but I just love what I do." The Gladiators host went on to tell My Weekly magazine: "As you know, the older you get, the more belligerent you get. I'm 65 now. "Do you know what age and experience brings? Freedom. Because you can say, 'Absolutely not. No, I'm not doing that. I don't want to go there'. "And people will just remark, 'He's just old and grumpy', well, that's fine by me." The Chase is available to watch on ITVX. The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer

Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed.
