Charlie Woods hints at tension with dad Tiger in Father's Day message amid Vanessa Trump romance

Daily Mail18-06-2025
In a heartful message written for Father's Day, amateur golfer Charlie Woods hinted that there may be some tension with his dad, Tiger Woods.
Charlie, 16, wrote a letter to Tiger - who Daily Mail exclusively revealed this year is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, Donald's ex-daughter-in-law - in a video posted to the account of the American Junior Golf Association.
The son of Tiger and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Charlie and his sister Sam live in Palm Beach, Florida with their dad and attend The Benjamin School - where Charlie is on the golf team.
As images from Charlie's recent Junior Golf win at the Team TaylorMade Invitational played, he narrated the message he wrote to his father.
'Thank you, Dad, for believing in me in times when I didn't even believe in myself, and for all the times when you have supported me no matter what I do,' Charlie wrote.
'Even though we argue a lot, I still cherish every moment and I would just like to say thank you for everything you have done for me.'
Charlie didn't say exactly why he and his famous father argue - whether it's typical teenage-related angst or if it could have something to do with golf.
Regardless, it's a kind gesture from the up-and-coming teenage golfer who saw his AJGA ranking jump from No. 606 to No. 14 after his TaylorMade win.
It's been an eventful year for the Woods family after Tiger went public with his relationship with Vanessa Trump.
That announcement came 10 days after DailyMail.com exclusively broke the news that the golf icon was dating Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-wife.
Alongside two pictures of the loved-up couple, Woods wrote: 'Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together.
'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.'
The couple have the blessing of the President, with Trump himself saying he was happy when he learned that they had become an item.
'He told me about it, and I said, 'Tiger, that's good, that's good. I'm very, happy for both.' But they just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They're both great,' Trump said.
'I love Tiger and I love Vanessa. He and I have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger. I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he's a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete.'
The relationship has the blessing of the president - Trump paid tribute to the pair of them
Additionally, Tiger's mother, Kultida, passed away in February - a devastating blow as the matriarch of the Woods family died at the age of 80.
'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.'
Tiger himself has been absent from the course after suffering an injury to his Achilles as he prepared for the Masters back in April. However, he was recently seen without a brace on his knee riding a golf cart while watching Charlie.

Legendary '90s sitcom rumored for reboot with original cast and a VERY surprising twist

One of the original stars of the popular '90s sitcom Family Matters is working on a reboot of the series... but it comes with a surprising twist. Bryton James, who played Richie Crawford on the show, has revealed that he is currently working on updating Family Matters by turning it into an animated series. The actor, 39, told Entertainment Weekly that his plan involves 'taking the old episodes and modernizing them and kind of starting from scratch for the new generation.' While the animated reboot has yet to be officially greenlit, James has already found a production company to finance the project. He also said that the original cast are on board for the project, including breakout star Jaleel White. 'It's sitting in Warner Bros.' hands right now… That plan is still kind of floating around out there, and I'm still trying to pursue it,' he said. Family Matters premiered in 1989 and went on to become one of the most successful shows of the '90s. It reached over 26 million viewers at its peak and won a slew of awards, including three NAACP Image Awards for White's role as Steve Urkel. White, 48, was just 12 when he landed the role of the geeky Urkel, which was originally supposed to be a fleeting guest role lasting one episode. The Urkel character quickly became so popular that he was promoted to a series regular and eventually the central character of the sitcom. In his memoir Growing Up Urkel, White revealed that he was told by network executives to wear loose-fitting jeans 'to hide his bulge' once he turned 20. The actor said he was growing out of the character by Season 8, but the network still wanted to keep the show going. White claimed TV executives told him, 'Let's get rid of the suspenders. Lower his pants, too.' He said the execs added, 'Oh and... it's getting a bit uncomfortable watching him in tight jeans. There's a, uh... bulge.' Along with the suspenders and tight pants, one of Urkel's trademarks was his high-pitched voice, which, as he got older, became 'physically painful' to recreate. The pain was so intense that he even considered leaving the show that made him a star, though he ultimately stayed through all nine seasons before it went off the air in 1998. He also revealed in 2021 that his co-stars didn't handle his growing fame too well. 'I didn't see how I was stepping on anybody's toes, [or] taking anybody's shine,' White revealed to TVOne's Uncensored in 2021. 'It's very important that I say this: I was not very well welcomed to the cast at all,' he alleged. 'And I don't need to rehash that with the adults over and over again. They know what it is,' he insisted.

New horror film shot from perspective of a dog drops first trailer

Watch the trailer for a new horror movie that is filmed from the unique perspective of a dog. 'Good Boy', which is hitting theatres on 3 October, follows Todd and his dog Indy as they relocate to an old farmhouse that is rumoured to be haunted. 'Indy is immediately vexed by empty corners, tracks an invisible presence only he can see, and is haunted by visions of the previous occupant's grim death,' a synopsis for the movie writes. The 73-minute film directed by Ben Leonberg had its world premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film and TV Festival in Austin, Texas, in March, where Indy won the first-ever 'Howl of Fame' award.
