4-star edge rusher, Alabama target announces official commitment date
A prospect that the Alabama Crimson Tide recently made the top three finalists for earlier this month, a date is now set for the commitment decision of highly-touted edge rusher Cincere Johnson.
Johnson, who lists both Ohio State and Penn State as finalists alongside Alabama, will be making his decision June 19 between the three programs.

According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Johnson is considered as the nation's No. 71 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, as well as the No. 8 overall edge rusher. A versatile linebacker, Johnson is also a four-star prospect, and is ranked the No. 2 overall player in the state of Ohio where he attends Glenville High School.
Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently boasts five commitments, two of which are edge rusher's in fellow four-star's Jamarion Matthews and Kamhariyan Johnson.

Alabama has four players in CBS Sports' top 50 NFL Draft prospects to watch in 2025
Kadyn Proctor is Alabama's highest-ranked player in CBS Sports' list of 2026 NFL Draft players to watch this season. Alabama football has some NFL draft analysts buzzing ahead of the 2025 season. Small wonder. The Crimson Tide have gone 17 years since a player wasn't selected in the first round of the draft. That was all the way back in 2008 after Nick Saban's first season when the talent simply hadn't arrived in Tuscaloosa but was more than on its way with Saban's banner '08 class. Exactly who the first Alabama player chosen at next year's draft, to be held in Pittsburgh, will be is probably a matter of debate and hinges on who steps up the most in 2025. Two players to keep an eye on are offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor and defensive lineman LT Overton. Proctor and Overton are two of four Alabama players that made CBS Sports' top 50 draft prospects to watch ahead of the 2025 college football season. Proctor has been a two-year starter at left tackle and enters the season as a rising junior among the draft boards. He was ranked the No. 3 overall player in CBS Sports' list on Friday, behind Texas quarterback Arch Manning at No. 1 and former Crimson Tide safety Caleb Downs of Ohio State. Overton will return for his senior season and second with the Crimson Tide after transferring to Alabama from Texas A&M after the 2023 season. In 12 games last season, the 6-foot-5, 283-pound tackle made a career-high 42 tackles (17 solo) and recorded two sacks and a forced fumble. Overton, named to the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, was ranked the No. 13 overall play to watch by CBS Sports. Further down the list, fifth-year senior linebacker and fellow Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List member Deontae Lawson was ranked at No. 35 overall, with offensive lineman Parker Brailsford No. 49. Alabama will open the 2025 season against the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Aug. 30. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ABC. One of the most enjoyable aspects of Howie Roseman's evolution has been watching him learn from the mistakes he made in the past. No one has ever accused the Philadelphia Eagles' general manager of being perfect, but have we seen another GM navigate the NFL's constant changes and do so any better? It's hard to think of one. Maybe you've never thought about the following statement this way. Then again, perhaps you have, but it feels like once Howie discovered the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs, things took off. WATCH: Ohio State football players claim 'June Olympics' title with half-court shot
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 Finale, Half court shots 🏀The Players take down the staff to win the 2025 June Olympics in stylish fashion to end it 🏆 If you've been paying attention to the summer offseason workouts for the Ohio State football team, or reading our stuff here, then you know the team has been going through a little friendly competition called the "June Olympics." It's a competition between the players and staff to see who can bring home the most wins in various competitions with a champion being crowned at the end. We weren't too sure when the end of the "feats of athletic endeavors" between the old guys and the young pups were going to be over, or even what events would be a part of all the hoopla, but we were informed today that the last competition took place by way of half-court shots. Going into the last event, things were all knotted up at 5 to 5, just like you'd want it, so the winner of the long bombs from half-court would get the bragging rights. And, unfortunately for those of us who are competing with Father Time ourselves, the younger players won the half-court shooting competition and took the title of the "June Olympics" with a final 6 to 5 score. You can check out the highlights below. By the looks of it, it took just one shot to win it after several airballs and misfires. Watch as the shot goes through the bottom of the net for the players to claim supremacy. As if the youth in the building didn't have enough talking to do, now the elder statesmen in the program will have to live with the loss until next summer when we see if the "June Olympics" make another appearance.
