If you've been paying attention to the summer offseason workouts for the Ohio State football team, or reading our stuff here, then you know the team has been going through a little friendly competition called the "June Olympics." It's a competition between the players and staff to see who can bring home the most wins in various competitions with a champion being crowned at the end.
We weren't too sure when the end of the "feats of athletic endeavors" between the old guys and the young pups were going to be over, or even what events would be a part of all the hoopla, but we were informed today that the last competition took place by way of half-court shots. Going into the last event, things were all knotted up at 5 to 5, just like you'd want it, so the winner of the long bombs from half-court would get the bragging rights.
And, unfortunately for those of us who are competing with Father Time ourselves, the younger players won the half-court shooting competition and took the title of the "June Olympics" with a final 6 to 5 score. You can check out the highlights below. By the looks of it, it took just one shot to win it after several airballs and misfires. Watch as the shot goes through the bottom of the net for the players to claim supremacy.
As if the youth in the building didn't have enough talking to do, now the elder statesmen in the program will have to live with the loss until next summer when we see if the "June Olympics" make another appearance.

Ohio State men's hockey releases 2025-2026 nonconference schedule
The Ohio State men's hockey team surprised a lot of people with their unexpectedly high level of play this past season. The Buckeyes lost a lot of key players but found a way to plug in more talent and shock a lot of people by making it to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game en route to a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Things didn't end all that well on the national scale in the postseason, but it was still an overachieving year in which OSU went 24-12-2 overall and finished third in the League with a 14-9-1 record. It was a fun season, one that it hopes it can build momentum off of and take it into this upcoming season. And while we won't know the Big Ten schedule until a future date, the program did announce its nonconference schedule this past week, so if you are an ice hockey fan, and one that loves to watch the Scarlet and Gray, you've got something to look forward to. All told, the Buckeyes will host five nonconference games and go on the road for another five. Here's how it all plays out prior to hitting the conference for Big Ten play: 2025-26 Ohio State Men's Hockey Oct. 10-11 โ Northern MichiganOct. 17-18 โ at UConnOct. 24-25 โ Sacred Heart UniversityNov. 28-29 โ at Arizona State UniversityJan. 2 โ Bowling GreenJan. 3 โ at Bowling Green It won't be an easy road for Ohio State -- it never is in the Big Ten -- but hopefully, the Buckeyes can win their fair share of these nonconference games to prepare for what's to come in conference and beyond. And while we are at it, the deadline to renew season tickets is 4 p.m. ET June 30, and new season ticket packages are available now. For more information or to view available seating options, go online or contact the Ohio State Athletics Ticket Office by calling 1-800-GOBUCKS or by emailing Other ticket options including groups, miniplans, and single games, will be available for purchase later this summer. Texas A&M commit and 2026 4-star WR invited to Rivals Five-Star event
Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is chock-full of talent at every position. Over the past week, two of the program's elite commits, four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter, have been invited to the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which now features the Aggies' top-ranked wide receiver commit. On Friday, it was revealed that 2024 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory has become the newest A&M commit to be invited to the event of the summer, showcasing his elite talent. This is highly unsurprising, given his impressive play this summer during various camps, where he demonstrated his elite route-running and improved downfield speed. Earlier this month, running back Jonathan Hatton and tight end Caleb Tafua, along with Gregory, shut down their recruitment and will sign with the program as soon as Early Signing Day on December 4. During his 2024 junior season at Douglas County HS, Gregory reeled in 53 receptions for 914 yards and nine touchdowns after recording 795 yards and eight touchdowns during the previous season. Gregory's ability to quickly separate in coverage and make plays after the catch is similar to former A&M wideout and current Oregon standout Evan Stewart. As soon as Gregory steps on campus, the Georgia native has a chance to climb up the 2026 depth chart as a third or fourth option during his freshman season. Ohio State football set for massive recruiting weekend. Here's all 17 players attending.
The Ohio State football program has welcomed several prospects to its camps over the last few weeks, and this weekend is the last official visit weekend for the Buckeyes. In total, there are a whopping 17 prep players being hosted by the OSU staff, so it's time to pull out all of the stops. Ohio State has had a few players announce their verbal pledges after going on an official visit over the last few weeks, and I wouldn't put it wouldn't be surprising at all if there were some more news coming out of this one as well. We know you are interested in exactly who is coming to the banks of the Olentangy, so we have the complete 17-player list for you. All but one of the 17 have received an offer from the Scarlet and Gray, and you can bet the players are checking things out just as much as the Ohio State staff is, at least all but the seven that are already verbally committed (notated below). Here's a look at all of the players -- and their 247Sports profiles -- expected to be on campus this weekend as the Buckeyes put a wrap on official visit season. We might be hearing some BOOM!s after this weekend to add to the 2026 class that is already one of the very best in the country. We'll keep an eye to the sky and ear to the ground to see what news and rumblings come out of this massive recruiting weekend, so don't stray to far away from Buckeyes Wire.
