WATCH: Ohio State football players claim 'June Olympics' title with half-court shot
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 Finale, Half court shots 🏀The Players take down the staff to win the 2025 June Olympics in stylish fashion to end it 🏆 If you've been paying attention to the summer offseason workouts for the Ohio State football team, or reading our stuff here, then you know the team has been going through a little friendly competition called the "June Olympics." It's a competition between the players and staff to see who can bring home the most wins in various competitions with a champion being crowned at the end. We weren't too sure when the end of the "feats of athletic endeavors" between the old guys and the young pups were going to be over, or even what events would be a part of all the hoopla, but we were informed today that the last competition took place by way of half-court shots. Going into the last event, things were all knotted up at 5 to 5, just like you'd want it, so the winner of the long bombs from half-court would get the bragging rights. And, unfortunately for those of us who are competing with Father Time ourselves, the younger players won the half-court shooting competition and took the title of the "June Olympics" with a final 6 to 5 score. You can check out the highlights below. By the looks of it, it took just one shot to win it after several airballs and misfires. Watch as the shot goes through the bottom of the net for the players to claim supremacy. As if the youth in the building didn't have enough talking to do, now the elder statesmen in the program will have to live with the loss until next summer when we see if the "June Olympics" make another appearance. Ohio State football staff tightens players' lead in 'June Olympics' after winning Euchre
Ohio State football staff tightens players' lead in 'June Olympics' after winning Euchre The Ohio State football program continued its summer competition it's calling the "June Olympics," on Monday. What better way to pass the time during the dead period than a friendly competition of various sports and games between the players and staff? To date, the players have had the upper hand, going into the latest event with a 5-3 lead. The latest competition stepped outside of the physical, athletic realm and dove into card playing. It's just the sort of competition the older staff members likely needed after falling behind by two points because of a dodgeball win by the players last week. And, wouldn't you know it, the staff came through, winning a Euchre competition to pull to within one point at 5-4. It had a lot of drama with the score nip and tuck until the staff took the momentum at the end to tighten things up. You can get the highlights of the win thanks to the "X" account (formerly Twitter) of Ohio State Football below. As always, we're not sure what the next event is, or even how many competitions are set to take place in the month of June, but so far, we've been getting a look at an "Olympic event" every other day or so. We'll see what the future holds and if the staff can even things up, or if the players again put a little separation between themselves and the guys with a little seasoning on their ages. WATCH: Ohio State football players beat coaches in 'June Olympics' dodgeball
WATCH: Ohio State football players beat coaches in 'June Olympics' dodgeball Next event for 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬, Dodgeball 💪 The players extended their win streak after taking down the staff. Bringing the series 5-3 Players Lead 👀 — Ohio State Football (@OhioStateFB) June 13, 2025 The "June Olympics," a competition between the Ohio State football players and coaches during the doldrums of summer continued this week. This time around, the competition was dodgeball, something you won't see in the traditional Summer Olympics, but that doesn't matter when we're talking about a battle among friends. Coming into the contest, the players were on a bit of a winning streak and had a 4-3 lead in the competition. Nobody is really sure when this thing ends, and us on the outside aren't sure what competitions will be a part of all the fund, but it's clear the coaches needed a win to reel things and and tie things up. Unfortunately for them, the players were able to win once again and now enjoy a 5-3 lead. It's not an insurmountable lead, but one that might prove difficult for the "old guys" to overcome. Here's a look at a snippet of the dodgeball win by the players. Remember, "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." We'll keep an eye on the next "June Olympics" moment and report on whether the players extend their lead or if the coaches can pull to within one point. Ohio State football named its 'Dudes of the Week' on Thursday
Ohio State football named its 'Dudes of the Week' on Thursday While the Ohio State football team isn't in the middle of fall training camp, it's still in and around the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex getting workouts in in preparation for breaking the seal on the start of camp. We've seen a flurry of activity from some of the "June Olympics" events and other things going on, so we know the team is still hard at work. For further proof that guys are still on the grind in summer, Ohio State will routinely announce its "Dudes of the Week." We're not quite sure what goes into being nominated, let alone winning the recognition, but you can bet it involves being an Alpha athlete in some way, shape, or form. For this week, the "Dudes of the Week" are none other than receiver Jeremiah Smith (is there a "Dude of the Year" award?), offensive lineman Austin Siereveld, and linebacker Garrett Stover. Congratulations to this trio for working hard. We're pretty sure it's not the last we've seen of any of them in the spotlight. WATCH: Ohio State football player, staffer compete in three-point shooting contest
WATCH: Ohio State football player, staffer compete in three-point shooting contest In case you haven't noticed, the Ohio State football program is passing the time during a slow summer by competing in some "June Olympics." It's a competition of different athletic competitions between the OSU staff and the players, and so far it's been a hoot to watch it all go down. The staff got out to an early lead, but the players won three events in a row to take a 3-1 lead before the older guys trimmed the lead to 3-2. And now, after the latest event, a three-point shooting contest between OSU staffer Matt Guerrieri and wide receiver Bryson Rodgers, things are all tied up. That's because Guerrieri battled through some suspect shots to bury the one that mattered, giving the staff the win and even the competition at 3-3. If you missed any of the action, get a look at the cliff notes version of what went down on the courts of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. We're not sure when these June Olympics are over, or how many events there are, but it's fun to watch and keep up with, so we'll do our best to stay on top of it. We say, go old guys.
