A woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident involving a speeding goods vehicle in Hyderabad on Sunday. The reckless driving in Kukatpally was caught on CCTV cameras. The victim was identified as Kritika.
Kritika had gone for a temple visit with her husband Amit Karan, son Madhav, and the in-laws. On their way back, their car had a breakdown, due to which she had stepped out. She was standing next to the car in the middle of the road when the speeding Bolero swerved sharply and hit her.
She was tossed into the air and thrown to one side of the road. The Bolero sped away after the incident.
The police are trying to ascertain if it is a road accident or murder.

Ropar: Ropar police have arrested three notorious gangsters following an encounter in an abandoned building here in the early hours of Friday. The suspects are linked to the daylight murder of a man in Amritsar (rural) on July 4. Ropar senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gulneet Singh Khurana said acting on a tip-off regarding three people with criminal backgrounds hiding near the Sutlej river in Bhindran Nagar, police cordoned off the abandoned structure around 1.30 am. Upon seeing the police, one of the suspects opened fire, striking a police Bolero vehicle. Officers retaliated, overpowering and apprehending the accused. SSP Khurana identified the arrested gangsters as Gurwinder Singh alias Bhola from Channanke village, Amritsar (rural); Navtej Singh alias Teji from Jabbowal village, Amritsar; and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi from Sara village, Amritsar. During the exchange of fire, Gurwinder Singh sustained a bullet injury to his right thigh. He was taken to Ropar civil hospital and is undergoing treatment at PGI, Chandigarh. Police recovered one Glock 9mm pistol, a magazine, one live cartridge, and three spent shells from Gurwinder Singh. A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the law, including the Arms Act, at Nurpur Bedi police station. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder of Jagraj Singh (28), son of Sukhjinder Singh, also a resident of Channanke village, Amritsar (rural), according to the police. The murder occurred around 7.45 am on July 4 in front of the gate of Gurdwara Baba Budha Sahib, Channanke. SSP Khurana said that after committing the crime, the accused fled Amritsar and went into hiding at various locations before settling in Ropar. 1 2 3 Alwar: Vijay Mandir police, rescued a 22-year-old man, kidnapped from Alwar with the help of Bundi district police late Tuesday night. Four suspects were arrested, and the Bolero vehicle used in the crime was also seized. Victim Hansraj, who works in share marketing and trading, was abducted Monday evening while returning home on his bike. According to the police, 5–6 men intercepted him and forcibly took him in their vehicle. His brother, Deshraj, reported the matter to the Vijay Mandir police after the family found his bike abandoned at the spot. The kidnappers assaulted Hansraj, made an obscene video of him pleading for help, and sent it to his family, demanding a ransom of Rs 3.5 lakh. They threatened to kill him and used WhatsApp calls to warn the family against contacting the police. Under pressure, the family transferred Rs 50,000 to the number shared by the criminals. ASP headquarters Tejpal Singh said police traced the location in Bundi and launched a swift rescue operation. Hansraj was safely recovered, and four kidnappers—two from Khairthal and two from Bundi—were arrested. Police suspect the involvement of someone known to Hansraj, as the kidnappers had detailed information about his family. Further investigation is underway to nab other accused and uncover the full conspiracy.

Last Updated: A woman in Alwar, Rajasthan, was allegedly gang-raped by seven men for 11 days after being kidnapped on April 24. An FIR was filed on June 2, 2025, after a court order. In a disturbing incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven men for days after she was kidnapped from outside her house in Alwar in Rajasthan. The woman was reportedly kidnapped on April 24 when she went outside to relieve herself. It is learnt that she was allegedly forced into a Bolero vehicle by three men. According to a report in India Today, the woman was held captive for 11 days before being left unconscious on roadside. The matter came to light after the rape survivor's family approached police who initially refused to register a complaint. Thereafter, her family moved court, which led to the police filing a case. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Bagad Tiraya police station on June 2, 2025, following a court order. According to complaint filed by the victim's husband, the woman was reportedly taken to a location near Paniyala Road by accused where they took turn to rape her inside the vehicle. The complaint further mentioned the woman tried to resist and raise an alarm but they stuffed a cloth in her mouth. The accused also filmed the inhuman act and threatened to circulate them on social media if she reported the matter. After being dumped on roadside, the woman somehow managed to return to her house with help from locals. After the woman confided in her family, they initially refrained from going to the police, citing threats from the accused. So far, no arrests have been made in the case. Meanwhile, the investigation is being done by DSP Sunil Kumar Sharma of Ramgarh. The survivor will undergo a medical examination, and her statement will be recorded before a magistrate.
