3 Vogue Editors Reveal Their Go-To T-Shirts—And How to Style Them
A sartorial white whale for many, a go-to T-shirt is an essential part of almost any wardrobe, regardless of changing trends, personal style shifts, and color preferences. For many Vogue staffers a classic plain style, be it in white, grey, or black, serves as a universal layering piece under sweaters, blazers, and trench coats. It can also make a proclamation, featuring bold stripes, a favorite sports team, or a tribute to a hometown hero. The best T-shirts, whether a relaxed crewneck or subtly cropped, can be paired with almost anything, from low-rise jeans to silky skirts. Below, 3 Vogue editors share what they look for in a T-shirt and how they came to find the perfect fit for them at UNIQLO.
Mai Morsch, fashion editor
'My colleagues joke that I am the queen of basics—and it's true, I am almost always in jeans and a tee. While my outfit formulas are simple, I put a lot of thought into fit and fabric, and I can confidently say that UNIQLO'S pieces are timeless, well-made, and genuinely chic. My style philosophy is always that once you have a solid base wardrobe, it's easy to build out your personal style with one-of-a-kind, vintage, or trend-forward pieces.
I love how this T-shirt from the UNIQLO U Collection echoes the effortless vibe of a classic baby tee. It hits just at the waist, making it super versatile—pair it with a low-rise pair of jeans for a laid-back weekend look, or tuck it into high-rise trousers for something more polished. The fabric is soft but structured, holding its shape without wrinkling, and the cap sleeve adds a flattering touch. With many colors to choose from, it's a fantastic staple to stock up on.
I leaned into the '90s feel of this UNIQLO U tee by layering a ribbed tank underneath, which adds just the right amount of texture and dimension. I also chose to wear it with dark-wash jeans from the UNIQLO x JW Anderson collab, which have quickly become a go-to thanks to their classic straight-leg cut and slightly rigid feel. The whole look feels simple but considered. I styled it with a heeled sandal, but honestly, it's the kind of outfit I could wear with any shoe, in any season.'

'I prefer tees to button-downs and knits, so I own a lot of them. I'm partial to cropped tees, and love that this one falls into that category, but doesn't expose the midriff when worn with a high-waisted skirt or pair of trousers. (If I'm open to showing a bit more skin, I'd wear it with a skirt that fits lower on the hips.) The cotton is perfect—stretchy with a nice heft to it, and incredibly soft and comfortable. These have enough structure to work for the office, but are perfect for a laid-back weekend look, too. I styled my white tee with a silk midi skirt and denim jacket, draped over my shoulders—a look I turn to often when I want to dress casual but feel put together.'
Irene Kim, production and editorial associate
'Finding the perfect simple tee is harder than you think. But UNIQLO makes it so easy for you, especially with their U collection designed by Christophe Lemaire and Sarah Linh Tran. First of all, you can get it for less than $20—a rarity I find these days—and it's made of a thick and heavyweight cotton so that your bra doesn't show through, which I find to be my biggest struggle when wearing T-shirts.

Behind the Designs: The Cultural Inspirations of Tokyo Tiger Tees
Tokyo‑Tiger draws deeply from traditional Japanese art forms such as ukiyo‑e woodblock prints, calligraphy, and classic textile patterns. These inspirations appear prominently across their modern collections, giving their clothing a distinctive aesthetic appeal. A simple japanese frog shirt, for example, may feature classic amphibian illustrations inspired by Edo-period artwork, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune in Japanese folklore. Similarly, Tokyo‑Tiger incorporates wave patterns, floral motifs, and traditional family crests into their designs, ensuring each piece feels like wearable art. This creative approach allows the brand to connect deeply with those who value culture and heritage while staying fashionable. Beyond traditional patterns, the brand also experiments with unique interpretations of classic silhouettes, like reimagining the Japanese Hawaiian Shirt by merging tropical themes with Japanese iconography such as koi fish, cherry blossoms, or cranes. By bringing these cultural elements into streetwear, Tokyo‑Tiger ensures every design tells a story, blending ancient artistry with modern street fashion in a way few other brands achieve. One of Tokyo‑Tiger's defining traits is its use of symbolism in every design. From animals to abstract shapes, each print carries meaning, reflecting aspects of Japanese philosophy and culture. Take, for example, their popular japanese frog shirt designs. Frogs in Japanese tradition symbolize luck, safe travel, and the idea of returning home safely, making these tees more than just fashion—they're a symbol of positivity and protection. The Japanese Hawaiian Shirt collection often features bamboo, tigers, and dragons—symbols representing strength, courage, and resilience. These thoughtful design choices attract customers looking for clothing that has emotional depth as well as visual appeal. Each Tokyo‑Tiger tee becomes a conversation starter, allowing wearers to express their personality and cultural appreciation through style. This focus on meaningful graphics differentiates Tokyo‑Tiger from generic fashion brands, as every item tells a unique cultural story, making them ideal for those who want apparel that's not only stylish but also rich in significance. Anime and manga have become global cultural forces, and Tokyo‑Tiger expertly incorporates these influences into its designs. The brand's tees often feature anime-style artwork, bold line work, and colorful characters that resonate with both Japanese and international audiences. Their anime-inspired japanese frog shirt designs are particularly popular, showcasing quirky, animated frogs in dynamic poses that reference Japanese pop culture humor. Similarly, Tokyo‑Tiger's take on the Japanese Hawaiian Shirt often includes anime-inspired floral and wave motifs mixed with tropical patterns, making them standout vacation wear for fans of Japanese aesthetics. This playful approach appeals to younger generations who want fashion that reflects their interests in manga and anime culture. By blending entertainment, art, and fashion, Tokyo‑Tiger successfully bridges traditional culture with modern pop culture trends, ensuring their apparel is both nostalgic and trendy. This creative fusion has helped Tokyo‑Tiger stand out among streetwear brands worldwide, attracting anime fans and fashion lovers alike. Nature and mythology are key elements of Japanese art, and Tokyo‑Tiger frequently integrates them into its designs. Iconic creatures like dragons, cranes, koi fish, and frogs often appear on their clothing, drawing from centuries-old legends. The japanese frog shirt is a perfect example, symbolizing fertility, renewal, and prosperity. Tokyo‑Tiger elevates this by combining minimalist streetwear cuts with vibrant frog designs, making the shirts both culturally meaningful and fashion-forward. Likewise, their Japanese Hawaiian Shirt collection often merges tropical vacation motifs like palm leaves and hibiscus flowers with Japanese mythology, adding a unique cross-cultural twist. These mythological and nature-inspired designs connect deeply with customers who appreciate spiritual symbolism in everyday fashion. By reimagining these traditional elements through a modern lens, Tokyo‑Tiger provides customers with clothing that is not only stylish but also steeped in cultural storytelling, appealing to those seeking apparel that blends fashion with heritage. Tokyo‑Tiger's success lies in its ability to blend East Asian cultural heritage with modern, global fashion trends. While rooted in Japanese tradition, the brand isn't afraid to experiment, creating cross-cultural styles that appeal to a wide audience. Their japanese frog shirt represents a playful take on cultural symbolism, while their Japanese Hawaiian Shirt fuses tropical holiday vibes with Japanese aesthetics. This mix caters to fashion lovers who want something unique yet globally appealing. By collaborating with artists and staying up-to-date on global trends, Tokyo‑Tiger ensures its designs remain fresh while still paying homage to heritage. This cultural fusion appeals to those who want apparel that stands out in a world of mass-produced fashion. Customers appreciate the creativity and thoughtfulness behind every collection, making Tokyo‑Tiger a go-to brand for people who love experimental, globally inspired streetwear without losing the authenticity of Japanese roots. Tokyo‑Tiger tees resonate with people around the world because they combine cultural meaning, premium quality, and distinctive design. The japanese frog shirt is a prime example—quirky yet meaningful, it brings a touch of Japanese tradition into everyday streetwear. Similarly, the Japanese Hawaiian Shirt appeals to customers looking for something different from standard floral vacation shirts, blending tropical comfort with Japanese design elements. Fans appreciate how Tokyo‑Tiger balances tradition with modernity, resulting in apparel that tells a story while remaining versatile and wearable. Another reason for their global success is their focus on quality fabrics and detail-oriented craftsmanship, ensuring each tee lasts longer than average fast-fashion alternatives. Fashion enthusiasts worldwide love that Tokyo‑Tiger offers designs that are conversation starters, allowing them to express their individuality and cultural appreciation through what they wear. Ultimately, Tokyo‑Tiger has successfully built a bridge between heritage and modern streetwear, earning a loyal international fan base. TIME BUSINESS NEWS

Who is Chloe Kelly's husband? The Lioness recently married Scott Moore
As the Lionesses make their way to yet another Euros final, all eyes are on the squad – including star forward Chloe Kelly, who makes scoring tough goals look easy. Alongside her impressive footballing career and 'day job' at Arsenal Women's Football Club, Kelly has also had an exciting personal life recently as she married her partner, Scott Moore, after five years of dating. But who is Scott Moore, how did he and Chloe Kelly meet, and what else do we know about him? According to a wedding-related interview that Kelly did with Vogue, Moore has some footballing connections of his own and they met while she was playing for Everton - where he was a groundsman. It's believed that he also maintains golf courses (a role known as a 'greenkeeper', FYI). "One day I held the door for him, and ever since that day he kept saying he was going to message me," she recalled. "When he did slide into my DMs, I didn't see it for ages, because it was in my requests folder, and then when I did see it I was like, 'Who is this?' But when I saw a few people that I knew had followed him, I realised, I must know him!" Their first date? A trip to IKEA, obviously. As the footballer said she was in need of storage space for her ever-growing wardrobe. Fast forward five years and Moore proposed to Kelly while on a trip to Finland, surrounded by a pack of huskies (naturally). Despite being utterly delighted at the thought of getting married, the athlete confessed that she had some pre-wedding jitters, which spooked her more than some of her most daunting career moments (AKA scoring that winning goal in the 2022 Euros). "I don't really get nervous for games, we train to prepare for those moments, it's just natural, whereas the wedding day is just something I haven't done before," she shared. "I actually felt sick." Luckily, the day sounded as though it went without a hitch. N'aww! As well as sharing her wedding snaps with Vogue, Kelly also posted some on her Instagram account with the sweet caption: "𝑻𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 🤍" The couple do not have any children and are kept busy with their three dogs Otis, Rolo and Brody. 30+ Best Linen Pants to Complete Your Summer Capsule Wardrobe
Just like breezy poplin trousers, the best linen pants are a summer uniform must-haves. Whether dressing for the office during a heatwave, or curating your capsule vacation wardrobe for an upcoming trip, the lightweight, breathable fabric is absolutely essential during the hottest months of the year, bringing the cool factor to foundational silhouettes such as pleated trousers and wide-leg pants. Vogue's Favorite Linen Pants Depending on your favorite silhouette, there are plenty options to cater to your personal taste and find a fit that's as effortless as the pants themselves. Those who face a sweaty commute on the daily, will want to lean into pleat-front trousers that work perfectly in an office environment, when styled with a button-up shirt, silky blouse, or tailored vest. Some of our favorites include Another Tomorrow's wide-leg trouser, a long and lanky option from The Row, and Posse's butter yellow version—the enduring shade of the season. If vacation is on the mind, rely on light and breezy—and maybe a little bit sheer—options to let that cute swimsuit peek out just the tiniest bit. Leset's gauzy pair in chocolate brown will layer perfectly atop a chic one-piece, while effortless, white drawstring pair feels like a match made in heaven, when worn as a cover-up over a printed bikini. Let's face it—many of these are ideal for poolside (or beachfront!) outfit combos. However you plan to style yours, let Vogue's guide to the best linen pants lead the way. From playful prints to the best basics, find 30 (plus) of our favorites to wear all season long. The Drawstring Drawstring linen pants are a prerequisite to summer outfitting—they're a sensible choice that can go from weekday errands, paired with a button-down shirt or T-shirt, to meandering around on next vacation—when the sun is beating down but you're not willing to forgo your sense of style. If you've already invested in a neutral hue, might we suggest adding a bit of color to your rotation this season? A bold red or striped blue feels fresh for the months ahead, when styled with swimwear and simple extras. The Beach-Ready Whether you're vacation bound, or simply planning to enjoy some time at the local beach or a friend's backyard pool, think of these pants as your instant cover-up solutions. They're all easy, breezy, and oh-so-light, with the ability to go from shoreline to street in a flash—simply add an oversized button-up, flip-flops, and roomy beach bag. From gauzy finishes to fun stripes, and even a classic white, these will take on whatever summer adventures are headed your way. The Pull-on Pant When it's too hot to think, reach for a pull-on pair. From everyday black pants that can be styled with literally everything in your closet, to summery stripes or a rich brown tone, think of these as the pants that require no thought. They slide on with ease, are comfortable to boot (thanks to the elasticity in the waistband), and look pulled together when paired with broderie anglaise tops, fitted tanks, or even a summery cardigan. What's not to love? The Pleated Trouser Feeling stuck in a summer workwear rut? Pleated linen trousers are the instant refreshment you need. They'll make commuting a breeze (no chaffed thighs here!), plus look polished enough to adhere to any dress code you might be working with. Simply style them with a minimalist blouse, easy slide sandals, and a structured work tote, for office-friendly dressing on-the-go. The Printed and Patterned If you're a maximalist at heart, or just looking to inject a little more fun into your everyday basics, personality pants are the answer. From playful polka dots to romantic florals and all the classic motifs in between, lean into the power of patterns—stripes, checks, gingham, oh my!—for a fresh spin on summer style, made even more appropriate when the material is breezy linen.
