Debenhams chops £120 off 'comfortable and versatile' rattan loveseat and ottoman
'It is perfect for relaxing in the sun'
While there are many different pieces of garden furniture on the market, some products favour style over comfort. Quite a few people also have small gardens, so they are unable to purchase a luxury corner cushioned garden set.
For those who are dismayed that they cannot buy the garden furniture of your dreams, Debenhams may have a mini alternative that may provide more versatility than the larger versions. What's better is that the retailer has added the furniture to its massive spring sale - knocking £120 off this price tag.
The Costway Patio Rattan Daybed Set usually retails for £449.95, but garden lovers can now snap it up for 27 per cent less at £329.95. Able to seat two people, this daybed promises to be the best place to curl up with a book on a summer evening or relax in the sun.
This Rattan Loveseat isn't your average sofa as it is highly praised for its multifunctionality, reports the Mirror. Along with the sofa, the set also comes with a multipurpose ottoman which can be used as a side table, a chaise lounge for extra guests or expanding the sofa into a bed, or it can simply be placed underneath the sofa for more space.
Users will also be able to maximise their comfort as the loveseat comes with a four-position backrest. Whether shoppers want to sit up, recline or lie flat on their backs, this versatile piece of furniture can be adapted to any need.
For added comfort the rattan furniture also comes with three cushions and two pillows that are filled with elastic sponge. Each piece also comes with a smooth zipper to allow for easy removal and maintenance of the cushion covers if there are any accidental spills.

Product Description
If the ottoman wasn't already practical enough, it can also be used as a storage box so you can hide your garden essentials or store extra blankets for when the nights become chillier. The sofa also features two retractable side trays so any drinks and snacks will always be within arms reach.
For those looking for something a little bit cheaper, Debenhams is also selling the Gymax Patio Loveseat Sun Lounger with Canopy for the reduced price of £249.95. Normally retailing for £399.91, shoppers will save £150 thanks to the spring sale.
Alternatively, if shoppers are looking for something built for one person that can easily be transported, Amazon is selling the SUNYRISY Folding Sun Lounger. Retailing for £95.99, this sun longer comes with a removable mattress, headrest and side pockets for added comfort and ease of use.
While there aren't any reviews currently on the Debenhams website for the Rattan Loveseat, many Costway shoppers have taken to the brand's website to express their joy over their favourite new piece of garden furniture.
One delighted shopper gushed: "It is perfect for relaxing in the sun. The rattan woven loveseat is comfortable, and the storage ottoman is a bonus for keeping essentials handy."
A few shoppers did mention how long it takes to assemble the furniture, which may put some shoppers off buying the seat. However, once assembled shoppers were still widely positive.
Another shopper added: "I was able to put it together by myself, took some time but so worth it. Fits two adults easily and your fur babies. Soooo comfy and great color. Everything is quality made and super durable feeling. The price you most definitely can't beat!"
A third five-star reviewer slightly grumbled: "Wish assembly was a little easier but overall exactly what I needed for pool house."
A further shopper went on to say: "It took about two hours to assemble and at first I wasn't sure how cushioned and comfortable it would be, but when we got it together and sat down to relax it felt very comfortable. And it fits perfectly in my backyard, I can lay on it and enjoy my garden, fantastic."
While a fifth shopper praised: "The daybed is very comfortable and versatile. It fit perfectly into my outdoor living room and I love that the ottoman can be used for more seating when company comes over."

Once-thriving Debenhams store loved in the 90s to be transformed into cinema, gym & hundreds of homes
A DEBENHAMS that was once a bustling shopping hub is set to be transformed into a co-living space. The former store is set to be demolished and replaced by a ten-storey block with a cinema, gym and podcast studio. 2 Similar to student halls, the plan submitted to Chelmsford City Council envisages 181 single-occupancy rooms. If approved, each room will have a bed, kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom. They will also have a wardrobe, desk and storage. The communal spaces will contain facilities like a lounge, co-working space, event space, a gym, cinema and podcast studio. The shared areas will be available to the public on an invite-only basis. The vision for the development is to provide young professionals with affordable living spaces. Co-living housing is a new concept that is defined by a large-scale purpose-built shared accommodation. In cities, there has been a rise in single people and couples living in warehouses and large disused buildings for cheap rent. Savills have said that co-living schemes are a way to tackle the cripling housing crisis by "offering shared affordable, high quality accommodation, predominantly for 18 to 40-year-olds, with fully furnished private living units, communal areas and often flexible working space'. A planning statement said: 'The site sits in a primary location within the Chelmsford City Centre, opposite the River Chelmer and within walking distance to Chelmsford High Street, and to both Chelmsford train station and bus station. It was formerly in use as the servicing block to the adjacent Debenhams department store. "However, it is now redundant with limited scope for it to be brought back into use for retail servicing. "On this basis, it presents as a highly sustainable brownfield site with substantial scope to enhance and contribute towards the wider strategic goals of Chelmsford." This comes after another former Debenhams was given a new lease of life as an entertainment venue. After the business went into administration in 2020, hundreds of the huge department stores were left empty on UK high streets. Now, one of the abandoned stores has been completely transformed into the ultimate entertainment space. The Debenhams in Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes has been revamped by entertainment company Lane 7. The 40,000 square foot space has been kitted out with a bowling alley, roller skating rink, golf simulators, bumper cars, pool tables and a gaming experience. Lane 7's Luke Harvey said: "The culture of what people want from their nights out has changed a lot recently, the shift from being a drinking culture has stopped a little bit, especially for 18-24 year olds. "People want a little more from their nights out; they don't necessarily want to go to a nightclub anymore. "They want something fun and something they can do with a range of different friends and families." Since opening in March, the venue has seen about 2,300 visitors on its busiest days which are usually Friday nights and evenings. The entertainment company has taken over the ground floor, while Sports Direct occupies the upper floors. Although shoppers can still buy from Debenhams online, all of its 124 beloved high street stores closed down because of falling profits and rising debt. The financial problems were triggered by a combination of consumers moving online, as well as Covid lockdowns which stalled profits. Across the country, councils and developers have been repurposing former Debenhams stores. One in Northampton was demolished and replaced by student housing in October 2024, a fate that will follow for the two other stores left in the city. 2

'Fake tans make me look orange but this cool toned one promises sunkissed skin'
Mirror's shopping writer Grace always struggles with fake tan looking too orange, so she tested out utan's brand new instant tan designed for those with cool undertones As a fair-skinned girl, achieving a natural tan can be a bit of a challenge. It demands a lot of hours of sunbathing, and with the UK's famous lack of sunshine, coupled with the possibility for skin damage, it's just not worth the hassle anymore. So I'm constantly on the hunt for a bronzing product that can mimic that natural sun-kissed glow. However, the majority of fake tans always ends up looking too orange on my cool-toned skin. When I saw that utan had launched its Instant Tan Cool, labelled by the brand as "the world's first instant tan designed to suit your undertone and enhance your perfume", I knew I had to test out and see if it actually worked on my skintone. Utan is known for developing innovative and first of it's kind formulas, not to mention it's loved by major celebrity A-listers like Sofia Richie and Sienna Miller. We have had gradual fake tans in the past that have been specifically designed for certain undertones, such as Bondi Sands' Technoolour Range, but finding an instant tan (reasonably priced at £18) that can do so is pretty great. Pros Evens out the skin tone Easy to apply Natural-looking Buildable Smells amazing Cons Doesn't give a really deep tan utan Instant Tan Cool review The first thing I noticed after using this tan was how easy and honestly foolproof the application is. The forumla comes out in a airbursh spray that blends so seamlessly into the skin. There's not hard work or intense rubbing required. Simply spray the formular directly on to your skin or mitt and softly blend it in for the perfect finish. It's probably the easiest-to-apply fake tan I've ever tried. Initially I was unsure if the colour was dark enough for my liking. I don't like anything too deep but the first spray showed up with very minimal colour. However, the great thing about this product is that it dries down fairly quickly so you can build it up to get a deeper colour. I will say that it does act more like body make-up, as described by the brand, so it's ideal for smoothing out uneven tones and adding some natural colour into the skin. But if you're looking for a deep, intense tan this is probably not the one for you. Personally, I know this is a product I will reach for all the time. I love anything instant as I'm often too forgetful to actually prep out my bodycare routine in advance. And this handy spray can easily slot into my handbag for emergency top ups on a night out. Additionally, it does not have that traditional fake tan smell at all. In fact, the scent is organic vanilla and tonka so not only does it give the skin a littel bronzey glow, it makes you smell amazing at the same time. The brand has also launched the same product but created for those with warm-tones, and actually recommends mixing both together if you're neutral to get your perfect, bespoke shade. If you've not been convinced by an instant tan, my favourite gradual tans are: Tan Luxe The Gradual Illuminating Self Tan Lotion, currently £22 and Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water Medium, £18.95.

Next's £28 linen dress that's 'really comfortable' to wear in summer
Next, shoppers have been raving about an affordable summer dress that many women have declared "great for holidays." Some who bought the "stylish" dress described it as perfect for glamming up for a night out or keeping it casual for daytime excursions. The V-Neck Ruffle Sleeve Mini Dress with Linen comes in eight different styles, with prices starting from £28 for options like plain white or black and some patterns like Animal Leopard Print or Red/Pink Wiggle Stripes. Shoppers can get more elaborate designs like the Mono Floral print (£30) or the Brown and Black tile print (£35). The dress comes in sizes ranging from six to 26. It also offers a petite fit option to cater to various body types. Each style, made from a linen-blend material, boasts a V-neckline and short ruffled sleeves. Next's team points out on the website that "the versatile design makes this dress easy to elevate with a formal look". But, it can also be effortlessly styled down for "an everyday vibe" to suit more laid-back occasions, reports the Mirror. While similar items are available elsewhere, like Very's Embroidered Frill Front Playsuit (reduced to £32 from £40) and ASOS's Wednesday's Girl frill sleeve mini dress (£24), Next's £28 outfit has received glowing reviews. (Image: Next) One shopper said: "Lovely - looks and feels great for holidays!" Another added: "Versatile dress which is easy to wear daytime or evening - dress up with a denim jacket. Comfortable fit and true to size. Cool in a warm climate." Some shoppers, however, had their issues. One claimed: "I thought it was very flimsy and more like a nightie. Definitely not for my age. Probably better for a young person or over a bikini." Another cautioned other women: "Lovely design dress, but so see-through. Would only wear for over a bikini needs lining." (Image: Next) Yet, the item has gained plenty of other five-star ratings, with one customer who purchased the Red/Pink Wiggle Stripe style writing online: "Perfect holiday colours and loose fit for hot climates, a great dress." A fifth person said: "I found my normal size slightly big around the arms but not enough to send it back. Nice feel and generous with the sizing." Another added: "I'm very pleased with this dress. It's good quality and really comfortable to wear. It's a definite holiday favourite for me." Finally, a shopper posted: "This dress is ideal for both daytime and evening beachwear. Its fit is simple yet flattering. I bought it in black and white, and both colours look fantastic under the Caribbean sun."
