Aboriginal public servant lashes out at Anthony Albanese in shocking foul-mouthed rant - but still manages to keep his job

An Aboriginal artist was able to keep his position on a taxpayer-funded board, despite labelling Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong 'genocidal c**ts' who should go and 'get f****d'.
Fred Leone, an award-winning musician, Indigenous Butchulla Songman and founder of Impossible Odds Records, was appointed to the board of the Music Australia Council in August 2023 by Minister of the Arts, Tony Burke.
Mr Leone, who was paid a salary of $24,540 for the role, has previously met Prince Harry when the former Royal was on a trip Down Under in 2022 with his wife Meghan.
But Mr Leone has landed himself in hot water when he last week filmed himself unleashing on the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Burke, also Immigration Minister, after Albanese said he was waiting for the right moment to recognise Palestine as a state.
'You weak ass p**s dog, f**k you Anthony Albanese, f**k you. F**k Penny Wong,' ,' Mr Leone said in a self-recorded video posted on Instagram.
'F**k that weak ass Minister for Immigration, Tony Burke. You can all go get f****d. That's pathetic: "I'm waiting for the right moment to recognise Palestine" after, what, almost half a million people are dead? You f***king piece of s**t.'
He further branded them as 'Zionist-siding dog(s)', before adding: 'When I see you at the f***ing airport don't even come near me c**t because I'll f***ing rip you in front of everybody.'
His comments, first reported by The Australian, were in response to the Prime Minister saying last week that recognition of Palestine as a state had to come in circumstances where it would 'advance the objective of the creation of two states'.
'My entire political life, I've said I support two states, the right of Israel to exist within secure borders and the right of Palestinians to have their legitimate aspirations for their own state realised,' Albanese said on Wednesday.
The Australian reported that Mr Leone has been allowed to keep his job on the taxpayer-funded board until his term expires at the end of August.
Burke, who is also Minister for Home Affairs, Cyber Security and the Arts, said that Mr Leone's language escalated after he was told his position on the board would not be renewed.
'His (Leone's) language escalated as soon as he was told that he wasn't going to be reappointed to Music Australia,' Burke said.

Australian politician refuses to stand down despite being jailed for rape

An Australian politician has refused to stand down despite being jailed for rape, sparking an urgent court battle to expel the sex offender from a state parliament. Gareth Ward, a New South Wales state politician, was found guilty last month of sexually abusing two young men, aged 18 and 24, between 2013 and 2015. The 44-year-old former Liberal Party member has refused to stand down from state parliament, despite sitting in prison while awaiting sentencing for his crimes. Chris Minns, the state premier, said Ward had 'no shame', pledging to move a motion that would expel him from parliament, saying it's the 'first and most obvious choice'. 'Unconscionable situation' Mr Minns said: 'It's an unconscionable situation to have someone who's currently sitting in jail in Silverwater, convicted of serious sexual offences, who is demanding to remain a member of parliament and continue to be paid.' But Ward has so far stymied these efforts, obtaining a temporary injunction late on Monday that prevented the Labour government from removing him. Mark Speakman, the opposition leader, joined calls for Ward to step aside. The leader of the NSW Liberals, which Ward was formerly a part of, said: 'Every day he clings to his seat from a jail cell, taxpayers are footing the bill and the people of Kiama are left voiceless. It's not just wrong, it's offensive.' Ron Hoenig, the leader of the House, said the government would seek an urgent hearing this week to have the injunction lifted. He told reporters: 'The issue is, as you would appreciate, of considerable significance. 'The House needs to be able to make its judgment to protect itself. And we will be seeking a review of the judge's decision.' Ward said he planned to appeal his convictions, and should remain in parliament until this appeal is heard. He is due to be sentenced next month, for three counts of indecent assault and one count of rape.

Travis Barker slammed for liking bikini-clad 'thirst trap' pictures of his son's girlfriend

Travis Barker has been slammed for liking a risque Instagram post shared by his son Landon Barker's girlfriend. Skyla Sanders recently shared a photo dump featuring several casual images - including a few alongside 21-year-old Landon - with a simple caption of an anchor emoji. However, what drew attention was the first image in the carousel: a photo of 19-year-old Skyla posing playfully on a bed wearing a skimpy bikini. Skyla and Landon have reportedly been dating for several months and are frequently seen together at public events and on social media. Her account includes numerous photos of the couple, and Landon often comments on and likes her posts. While it is unclear how much personal interaction Travis Barker, 48, has with Skyla, the recent social media engagement was enough to trigger online controversy. After Travis liked the post, some social media users voiced discomfort, with a Reddit thread quickly gaining attention. 'I literally yelled ewww,' one user shared. 'That's not creepy at all…' another sarcastically added. 'This would make me uncomfortable,' someone else wrote, in part, as others branded it as 'gross.' Others, however, defended Barker, arguing that his intention may have been to support his son, who featured in two of the pictures included in the upload. One argued: 'His son is included in the photos on this post. He's comes off more as a parent who just likes whatever his kids/family posts. 'They all like each other's photos. Y'all reaching a bit with this one.' Another wrote: 'He will like every single post he ever sees.' And it's not just Travis himself who has gotten side-eyed by the public for his interactions with family on Instagram. Earlier this year, Travis's 18-year-old daughter, Alabama Barker, also received backlash after posting a provocative photo in a sheer black lace dress with the caption: 'Bro said he can't wait to see Alabama like Travis Barker.' Many fans were disturbed by the reference to her father, and the post fueled further scrutiny of how the Barker family engages with each other online. In recent years, Travis's personal life has been under a microscope, especially since marrying Kourtney Kardashian in 2022. While the couple frequently shows off their relationship on social media - including their blended family dynamics - critics have often called out their highly public affection and family-related posts. The couple is no stranger to controversy - especially when it comes to Barker's behavior and comments. In his 2015 memoir, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, Barker admitted he found Kim Kardashian 'f**king hot' and referred to her as 'eye candy,' saying he 'kept on secretly checking out Kim,' despite not pursuing anything romantically. Speculation grew that those past feelings might have contributed to the tension Kim and Kourtney had on their show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but Barker has publicly called the rumors 'ridiculous.' He said that his comments were simply reflections and that nothing inappropriate ever occurred. Kim herself denied any romantic involvement, stating they were longtime friends and that the rumors were false.

Denmark to tear down Copenhagen's ‘pornographic' mermaid statue

A statue of a mermaid with big breasts is to be removed from its location in Copenhagen after complaints that it is 'pornographic' and vulgar. The 13ft-tall Big Mermaid has been described as 'a man's hot dream of what a woman should look like', and its breasts have been the subject of controversy for years. It was unveiled in 2006 at a location a few hundred yards from the famous statue of The Little Mermaid, on Langelinie Pier. After complaints that the bigger mermaid was too sexualised, it was transferred in 2018 to Dragør Fort, part of Copenhagen's former sea fortifications, which lies several miles south of the city. Now, the Danish agency for palaces and culture is reportedly preparing to remove it altogether, saying that it does not fit with the cultural heritage of the fort, which dates back to 1910. Peter Bech, a Danish restaurateur who designed and commissioned Big Mermaid, said he could not understand what all the fuss was about, insisting that its breasts were a 'proportional size'. 'The mermaid has completely normal proportions in relation to her size. Of course the breasts are big on a big woman,' Mr Bech told Danish broadcaster, TV 2 Kosmopol. He argued that the statue attracts tourists, that criticism of it was 'pure nonsense' and added that he hoped a compromise could be reached so it could stay. Mathias Kryger, art critic for the newspaper Politiken, described Big Mermaid as 'pornographic'. Another journalist, Sorine Gotfredsen, wrote in the newspaper Berlingske: 'Erecting a statue of a man's hot dream of what a woman should look like is unlikely to promote many women's acceptance of their own bodies.' Other critics said the proportions of the mermaid amount to body-shaming for the majority of ordinary women.
