How You Know You Need To Get Your Business's Plumbing Checked
The Importance of Regular Plumbing Checks at a Business
Identify Issues Early
Regular plumbing checks are essential for catching issues like leaks, clogs and damaged pipes early. This way, a plumber can fix these issues before they lead to flooding and water damage.
Prevents Water Damage
The last thing you want is for a leak or flood to damage important documents and devices. Additionally, water damage can lead to an electrical fire or structural damage. Scheduling regular plumbing checks allows you to avoid the stress and potential danger.
Maintains Your Reputation
Imagine a client or partner walking into your business to find a flood. While plumbing issues happen to most people, you want to show everyone you take your business seriously. Additionally, your team members need to focus on daily operations rather than plumbing issues.
Prevents Company Shutdown
Once a flood or water damage happens, you may need to temporarily shut down your business. You may also have to reschedule important work meetings with your team, clients or partners. Catching plumbing issues early prevents delays and revenue loss.
How Do You Know You Need to Get Your Business's Plumbing Checked?
Visible Leaks
A leak must be repaired to prevent water damage and black mold growth. The black mold alone poses a health risk for everyone in your building. If you notice any drips, water stains and pooling water, contact your local plumber immediately.
Clogged Drains
Clogs lead to slow drains and back-up water, resulting in floods and frustration. Now, imagine this happening to a customer or client. A plumber can clear your drains and get your water flowing again.
Discolored Water
Your water should run clear, so cloudy or discolored water is a sign of trouble. Brown or rusty water indicates rust in your pipes. If left untreated, this may result in pipe damage and contaminated water.
What to Look for When Getting a Plumber to Check Your Business's Plumbing
License and Insurance
Hiring an unlicensed, uninsured plumber puts you at risk for unqualified repairs, potential hazards and fraud. When hiring a plumber, be sure to ask for their licensing and insurance information to ensure they have the proper training and certification.
Customer Reviews
Customers have no problem sharing good and bad experiences. Therefore, reading customer reviews on pages like Google and Facebook is important when hiring a plumber. If you want to speak directly to past customers, be sure to ask for references.
You should never take your business's plumbing lightly. Staying on top of regular inspections and necessary repairs creates a comfortable, healthy environment for everyone. Furthermore, you are taking the steps to maintain your reputation as a business owner.

Tech retailer returns to Dunedin after long absence
IT and computing retailer PBTech is set to open its new Dunedin store, at 127 Hillside Rd, next month. PHOTO: GREGOR RICHARDSON Technology and computing retailer PBTech says its new South Dunedin store is on track to be one of the company's "most anticipated openings yet". The new store, on the corner of Hillside Rd and Rankeilor St, is scheduled to open late next month. PBTech chief executive Gary Bigwood said opening a new store in Dunedin had been in consideration for a few years and would add to its two other South Island branches, both in Christchurch. Customers had been asking them to open a store in Dunedin for years and the company was "thrilled" it was finally happening, Mr Bigwood said. "From what we've seen on social media, this could be one of our most anticipated store openings yet. "We're expecting a strong response, even from people who haven't shopped with us before." The IT retailer has been teasing the announcement of a new store in the city since May this year. A post by the company's social media account on Facebook with the sole word "Dunedin" has racked up more than 500 likes to date. There was a lot of excitement in Dunedin, especially from existing customers, Mr Bigwood said. He confirmed the new store would be located at 127 Hillside Rd and was expected to open late next month. They were aiming to employ at least 12 staff members. Some locals had already accepted jobs and would head to Christchurch for training. It is not the first time the company has had a presence in the city. More than 20 years ago, a franchise under the PB Technologies name had operated in Dunedin but ceased trading and rebranded years ago, Mr Bigwood said. "We regularly review our store network and identified Dunedin as a great opportunity some time ago. "We already have a significant business with Dunedin customers via our online store, but the timing is right to bring the full PBTech experience to Otago."
