Ideal Property Refutes Allegations Linked To MBI Scam, Lodges MCMC And Police Reports
Ideal Property Group, in a statement today, stressed that the group operates with strict adherence to the law and ethical business principles, while the organisation is committed to maintaining the highest levels of professional integrity and operational transparency.
'Recently, Ideal Property Group has come across fake news and false postings on uncredited social media, falsely alleging the investigation and arrest of our group executive chairman in connection with the authorities' investigation into the MBI Group.
'Ideal Property Group strongly refutes the false and malicious allegations and categorically denies these baseless and defamatory statements,' according to the statement posted on Facebook.
To address this, Ideal Property Group has lodged a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the police and will take immediate legal action to protect its reputation.
The group also pledge to continue to exhibit solid operational performance and maintain its unwavering focus on executing current projects and fulfilling all obligations to its various stakeholders with excellence.
On April 22, police arrested five more individuals, including two bearing the titles Tan Sri and Datuk Seri, believed to be proxies and business associates involved in a Ponzi-type investment scam linked to MBI.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Team on Money Laundering (AMLA) under the Inspector-General of Police's Secretariat (USKPN), Datuk Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, said that besides arresting the five individuals, police have also seized three durian orchards spanning nearly 900 acres, valued at RM223,624,167, located in Raub, Pahang; Jawi, Penang; and Tasek, Kedah.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain was previously reported to have said that eight individuals were arrested and assets worth RM3.17 billion were seized in connection with the fraudulent scheme.

Policeman killed after motorcycle grazes lorry in Bagan Serai
IPOH: A policeman was killed after the motorcycle he was riding grazed against a lorry, causing him to fall onto the road at Kilometre 94 of Jalan Ipoh-Butterworth in Taman Selinsing Indah near Bagan Serai yesterday. Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said that they received a report regarding the incident from a member of the public at 6.25pm. He said the victim, Constable Muhammad Hakim Danial Ruhiman, 23, from the Bagan Serai police station, died while receiving treatment at Taiping Hospital. "Initial investigations at the scene revealed that the victim was riding his motorcycle from Bagan Serai towards Taiping. When he reached the location, his motorcycle grazed against a lorry travelling in the same direction, causing him to fall onto the road. "When the investigating officer arrived, the lorry was no longer at the scene, and members of the public in the area were also unable to provide detailed information about the vehicle," he said in a statement yesterday. Noor Hisam said the victim sustained serious injuries to the waist and legs. He said they are now reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) and dashcam footage from other vehicles to aid the investigation, in addition to efforts to locate the lorry and its driver. 2026 Budget: East-West Highway upgrades a priority for Works Ministry
KUALA KANGSAR: The East-West Highway (JRTB), particularly the Gerik-Jeli stretch, is among the key priorities for the Works Ministry under the upcoming 2026 Budget, said Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. He said the ministry has submitted a request for funding to upgrade several sections of the route, citing urgent safety needs. However, the exact allocation will depend on the government's final decision. "It's not a special allocation, we've included it under regular funding requests for the JRTB," he told reporters after the official opening of the Sultan Muzzaffar Shah Bridge at Dataran Manong today. Earlier, the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah officially inaugurated the bridge. Also present were Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, as well as Public Works director-general Datuk Roslan Ismail. As part of ongoing safety measures along the JRTB, Nanta said 385 solar-powered streetlights have been installed in high-risk areas and dangerous bends, commonly known as 'black spots'. "These are not for the entire highway, only for critical sections identified through our assessments," he said, adding that damaged guardrails, signboards and road markings are also being repaired or replaced. Nanta also announced the launch of the MYJalan mobile app, which aims to enable the public to report road damage and submit feedback directly to the ministry. "Perak has been chosen as the first state to launch the MYJalan initiative, reflecting our commitment to public feedback and road safety," he said. He said the JRTB's condition had been a concern since the start of his tenure and described the highway as not only a vital interstate link but also a key part of the country's road development history. Petronas Ownership Remains Under Federal Govt, Steps Taken To Enhance Participation Of States -- Azalina KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The ownership of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) remains with the federal government, although steps were taken to enhance the participation of states through strategic collaboration platforms, joint project implementation, and involvement in the value chain, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said. Azalina said the federal government's approach is aligned with an inclusive federal structure and ensures sustained benefits for all parties. The minister said that the federal government is currently the sole owner of Petronas, which is incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 as the national oil and gas company. 'The Petroleum Development Act 1974 (Act 144) entrusts Petronas with ownership of petroleum, along with the exclusive rights, powers, freedoms, and privileges to explore, manage, and develop the country's petroleum resources, whether onshore, offshore, or in Malaysian waters,' she said in a response posted on the Parliament's website today. Azalina was responding to Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (GRS-Keningau), who asked whether the government could consider distributing 50 per cent shares in Petronas to oil- and gas-producing territories and states, namely Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu, and Kelantan. According to Jeffrey, the distribution is a fundamental step to strengthen the Malaysian Federation moving forward, while easing politicisation and dissatisfaction over oil and gas rights. Azalina said that although the ownership of Petronas is under the federal government, the current approach allows producing states to receive direct benefits from the petroleum industry through cash payments and various forms of commercial cooperation.
