Six Durban beaches currently closed: Here's where and why
According to the municipality, as of 12 June, five more Durban beaches have been closed for swimming due to poor water quality. This is in addition to the previously closed Anstey's beach. The currently closed Durban beaches are: NORTH BEACH

'This status of beaches and pools will be updated as and when their status changes. You can still enjoy other recreational activities at closed beaches. You just can't swim.' the municipality said.
The following 17 beaches in Durban are currently open for swimming between the hours of 06:00 and 18:30: POINT BEACH

It is also worth noting that the municipality has closed 25 South Coast beaches for the annual sardine run.

KwaZulu-Natal to enjoy warm coastal weather
KwaZulu-Natal will see warm and sunny weather across most parts, particularly along the coast. Areas like Richards Bay are expected to reach highs of 24°C, offering a reprieve from the cold gripping central South Africa. Forecaster Mpho Rasimphi said, 'Warm conditions will persist into the coast over KwaZulu-Natal. Richards Bay will peak at around 24 degrees.' While the Western Cape braces for a cold front, KwaZulu-Natal remains unaffected. However, inland regions might experience slightly cooler conditions with increased cloud cover. 'KZN will remain clear,' Rasimphi confirmed. 'We're not expecting any rainfall or strong winds in the province. The coastal belt will be the warmest region nationally tomorrow.' The inland towns, particularly in the Midlands, may experience cool early mornings and evenings, but the overall weather will be stable. No warnings have been issued for KwaZulu-Natal. Cold front to sweep across the Western Cape for two days
A powerful cold front will move into the Western Cape from Wednesday, bringing a significant drop in temperatures, rain, and damaging winds. Cape Town and surrounding areas will bear the brunt of this winter system. Mpho Rasimphi, a forecaster, warned, 'We are expecting a 60% chance of showers and rain over Cape Town, extending into the adjacent interior. Winds could also damage parts of the Northern and Eastern Cape.' The South African Weather Service has issued a Level 2 warning for the interior of the Northern Cape due to a high likelihood of damaging winds. A Level 1 warning has also been issued for parts of the Eastern Cape. 'Please be careful tomorrow,' Rasimphi said. 'Winds can cause minor impacts such as fallen tree branches and reduced visibility, especially inland.' While Cape Town is forecast to reach 17°C, the cold front will bring a chill factor that makes it feel closer to 10°C. Thursday will see continued cold with rain expected across the province.
