Auburn, Duke, Houston and Florida have been historically dominant all season long, so it isn't any surprise that they were all capable of making it this far. In fact, the four teams all rank in the top nine in KenPom's net efficiency metric going back to the 1996-97 season.
Still, by pure statistical probability alone, it is unlikely to see all No. 1 seeds make it this far. The result, along with the lack of other upsets or Cinderella runs in the tournament, has sparked conversation about the roles of NIL and the transfer portal in generating more chalky results during a postseason known for shocking and dramatic moments.
Coincidentally, the only other tournament, 2008, that saw this feat also had its Final Four take place in San Antonio, where this year's event is being held. Kansas beat Memphis for the title after Mario Chalmers' three sent the championship game to overtime.

Miami-Dade Schools agree to $13.5 million partnership with Adidas, which will provide equipment to 40 high schools
Athletes in Miami-Dade County Public Schools will have a fresh look for the next five years. The organization announced a $13.5 million partnership with Adidas on Monday, which will supply equipment to athletes from 40 different high schools in the area, according to multiple reports. The district announced the news at Traz Powell Stadium — located in Westview, FL — on Monday. Athletes showed off new uniforms and equipment at the event. As part of the deal, Adidas received naming rights to the field at Traz Powell Stadium. For the next five years, it will be known as "Adidas Field at Traz Powell Stadium." The partnership will include any apparel made my Adidas, from uniforms to shoes to other equipment. Pieces of equipment that Adidas doesn't normally make — like baseball bats — will need to be sourced from elsewhere, per the Miami Herald. Prior to the partnership, each school would need to dip into its funds to secure uniforms and equipment for its sports teams. That will no longer be the case under the Adidas deal. In exchange for providing equipment, Adidas will receive "most of the profit from a new website set up by the school district," per The website features Adidas-branded clothing specific to each school in the area. Adidas is plenty familiar with the area. The company also has partnerships with the FIU, Florida Atlantic and the University of Miami.

Despite having a very young roster, they won 52 regular-season games and claimed the second seed in the Western Conference. However, their inexperience, not to mention their lack of shot-making when the pace slows down, cost them in the playoffs. They ended up losing in the first round to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, and they scored no more than 93 points in three of their four losses during that series. The Rockets' over/under was listed at 55.5 wins, and Bailey projected them to have a 52-30 record once again. Thompson, who averaged 14.1 points per game last season, is thought to perhaps have some star potential, and if he busts out this fall and winter, it would greatly raise the Rockets' potential. Miami Dolphins sign LB Matthew Judon, add cornerback Cameron Dantzler Sr.
The Miami Dolphins made their signing of Pro Bowl outside linebacker Matthew Judon official Tuesday after working out the veteran the day prior and added cornerback depth by signing veteran Cameron Dantzler Sr. Judon adds another skilled player to an already deep edge rushing unit that includes Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb and Chop Robinson. Phillips and Chubb are returning this season from serious knee injuries, and Robinson is coming off a promising rookie year. Judon had 41 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown in 15 starts for the Atlanta Falcons last year. He played the first five seasons of his career with Baltimore and had a three-year stint with New England. Dantzler was a third-round pick by the Vikings in 2020 and had 149 tackles and three interceptions in three seasons with Minnesota, but he has not played football since the 2023 season with New Orleans. The Saints signed him to their practice squad and he appeared in two games that season. He hasn't played in the NFL since then — instead signing with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger Cats in 2024. He played for the United Football League's Memphis Showboats earlier this season. Dantzler will compete for a cornerback spot on a roster that lacks a standout star, though the Dolphins have added a couple other veterans this offseason in Mike Hilton Jr. and Jack Jones. Second-year cornerback Storm Duck and rookie Jason Marshall Jr. are also on the roster. Cam Smith, Isaiah Johnson, Ethan Bonner and Kendall Sheffield are among those who are competing for spots as well. Also Tuesday, Miami waived wide receiver Tarik Black and punter Ryan Stonehouse, who was beat out by Jake Bailey in the punting battle.
