The Khyber-Pakhtunkhaw Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru visited Sheikh Maltoon Town Mardan, where he inspected the ongoing development projects and reviewed the pace and quality of the work.
Chairman Neighborhood Council Sheikh Maltoon Town Arsalan Toru and officers of the relevant departments were also present on this occasion.
While inspecting various development schemes, the Minister directed the officers to ensure transparency in development works at all levels and any kind of corruption would not be tolerated in this regard.
He said that it is imperative to complete the ongoing projects within the stipulated time so that the people can benefit from the fruits of these development projects as soon as possible.
He further said that public welfare projects are a big trust and strict action will be taken against any kind of negligence in them.
The residents of Town welcomed the Minister and his interest in the development works and expressed hope that the projects would be completed soon and play an important role in the development.
Meanwhile, the grand final of the Inter-Madrasa and University Cricket League for Peace was held in Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar, in which Peshawar University clinched the title.
Advisor to Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif attended the event as a chief guest stating that such tournaments are instrumental in nurturing skilled athletes capable of representing the nation on national and international stages.
For the past two months, around 130 players from five prominent madrasas and five leading universities across the province participated in the cricket tournament. The event was organized through a dynamic collaboration between the Inter-Religious Council for Reconciliation and Advocacy (IRCRA) and the K-P government.

The security forces killed 14 more Indian-sponsored terrorists in Zhob district along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border, a day after they killed 33 terrorists in the same region, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Saturday. The number of terrorists killed in the district over the past two days has now reached 47. 'Following the successful engagements by the security forces in general area Sambaza, Zhob District on 7-8 August 2025, during which thirty three khwarij were sent to hell; on night 8/9 August 2025, a deliberate sanitisation operation was conducted in surrounding areas of Sambaza along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border. 'During the conduct of the operation, fourteen more Indian sponsored khwarij, were hunted down and successfully neutralized,' the ISPR said. The military's media wing said weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed khwarij. The number of khwarij killed in two days anti infiltration operation has risen to 47, it added. 'The security forces remain committed to secure the nation's frontiers and thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Pakistan,' the ISPR said. New Delhi has often been criticised for backing terrorism across the border.

ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed at least 33 Indian-sponsored militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan in the early hours of Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. According to the military's media wing, the movement of a large group of militants- described as belonging to the Indian proxy network 'Fitna al Khwaraj' - was detected in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan, during the night between August 7 and 8. Security forces kill 54 terrorists infiltrating through Pakistan-Afghanistan border Troops engaged the infiltrators in a 'precise, bold and skillful' operation, thwarting their attempt to cross the border. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site. A sanitisation operation is under way in the area to clear any remaining militants, the ISPR said, adding that Pakistan's security forces remain 'resolute and unwavering' in their mission to defend the country's borders and eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism. Security forces killed at least 33 terrorists who were attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Sambaza, Zhob District of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Friday. The movement of a large group of terrorists, identified as Khawarij and belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khawarij, was detected on the night of August 7-8 in Sambaza, Zhob District, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the statement said. Security forces quickly detected their movement, engaged the group, and 'thwarted the Indian-sponsored terrorists' attempt to infiltrate,' the ISPR added. The military also reported recovering a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site. ISPR reiterated that security forces remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation's frontiers and eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended his tribute to the security forces for their successful efforts in thwarting an infiltration attempt by terrorists linked to Fitna al-Khawarij, who tried to enter Pakistan from the Pak-Afghan border in Zhob District. In a statement, the prime minister praised the forces for eliminating 33 terrorists during the operation. "The brave personnel of the security forces risked their lives to thwart the terrorists' infiltration attempt and foiled their nefarious designs," he said. Shehbaz Sharif emphasised the nation's support for the security forces. "The entire nation stands with the security forces in their fight against terrorism," he added. The prime minister also reiterated his commitment to completely eliminating all forms of terrorism from the country, underscoring the government's determination to maintain peace and security.
