How to watch Germany vs. Portugal in UEFA Nations League semifinal
After the Champions League finale and several domestic cup finals in May, June sets the table with four prestigious national teams — Germany, Spain, France and Portugal. Wednesday's semifinal is a good one. Germany plays on a home pitch in Munich, seeking its first Nations League trophy lift. Visiting Portugal won the maiden tourney in 2018-19. The Germans last won international hardware in 2017 at the now-defunct FIFA Confederations Cup.

Germany's highly-regarded Florian Wirtz is one of the world's top attackers, and he celebrated his 22nd birthday last month. Portuguese prodigy Rodrigo Mora, age 18, just got the senior team call-up for this semifinal. What a wealth of rising talent on display here.
The Nations League marks the last time that these national teams play competitively before World Cup qualifiers.
The Germans reached three consecutive World Cup semifinals in 2002, 2006 and 2010, then won it all in 2014. Since then, it's been back-to-back disappointing group stage knockouts. Similarly, they made the semis in three straight Euros from 2008-16, but have bounced out in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals in the last two iterations.
Portugal won Euro 2016, but hasn't made it to the semifinals in the four major tournaments since. The Portuguese have just two World Cup semifinal berths all-time, but reached the quarters in 2022.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still rostered for Portugal. He won the Golden Shoe and World Player of the Year when Mora was an infant. He's still scoring at 40 years old, and he has no shortage of high-pressure international experience.
Julian Nagelsmann's side got here with a narrow 5-4 aggregate win against Italy. It stole one in Milan, 2-1, then survived a comprehensive 3-3 thriller in Dortmund.
Portugal advanced past Denmark, but needed extra time in the second leg. Ronaldo scored twice in the second leg. Francisco Trincão also found the net twice in that match, as a substitute no less.
Roberto Martínez and his aggressive bunch have the most attacks and corners taken in Nations League. They also have been offside the most. Germany leads the competition in goals scored with a balanced offense: Tim Kleindienst has a team-best four goals, while Wirtz, Deniz Undav and Jamal Musiala have three apiece.

Wednesday's winner faces the victor of Thursday's Spain-France semifinal. The third-place match will precede the championship tilt on Sunday.
