FC Porto will be based at Rutgers University's Piscataway campus, CR Flamengo will train out of Stockton University's campus just outside of Atlantic City and Al Ahly will be based at the Pingry School in Basking Ridge. All four teams will primarily play their group stage matches in the Northeast. 'The clubs, their players, coaches, management, staff and fans will build incredible connections with the local people that support them throughout the tournament,' FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said in a statement. The 32-team tournament will begin on Saturday, June 14, with a match between Al Ahly and MLS side Inter Miami. The first game of the Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium will be the following day between Brazilian side Palmeiras and FC Porto.

Five international debuts to look out for this month

Five international debuts to look out for this month There's plenty of international action on the horizon this week with the Nations League semi-finals and World Cup qualifiers. Several fresh faces have been called up to represent their countries for the first time and we've picked out five potential debutants to keep an eye on. Five international debuts to look out for this month Nick Woltemade (Germany) With Niclas Fullkrug having endured an injury-hit season and Kai Havertz not risked, Germany have opted to call up another big man for their first Nations League finals campaign. Advertisement However, Nick Woltemade is not your usual towering target-man. The 6ft 6in forward combines his tall frame with nimble footwork and ranked in the top four percent of forward across Europe for successful take-ons per 90 last season. The 23-year-old has earned his maiden call-up after a breakout season with Stuttgart, in which he scored 17 goals in all competitions. Woltemade was the leading scorer in the DFB-Pokal as Stuttgart won the German Cup for the first time in 28 years. He arrives in the senior set-up with an impressive goal record at u-21 level. He's netted seven times in 12 appearances for the u-21 side, including a hat-trick against Spain in March. Rodrigo Mora (Portugal) Rodrigo Mora's exciting emergence at Porto has been recognised with a first call-up to the Portuguese national team. Advertisement The 18-year-old built on an impressive 2023/324 that saw him finish as the top scorer in the UEFA Youth League and u-17 European Championship to break into the Porto side last season. Mora scored 10 goals from just 16 starts in the Primeira Liga, adding four assists. The attacking midfielder is regarded as one of Europe's most exciting talents and will hope to debut when Portugal face Germany in the Nations League semi-finals on Wednesday. Mora was not even born when teammate Cristiano Ronaldo made his Portugal bow. Rayan Cherki (France) Didier Deschamps has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal with France, with Rayan Cherki and Desire Doue adding to a selection headache. Advertisement The duo joins the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise, Marcus Thuram, Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani in the most talent-stacked forward line in international football. Cherki's maiden call-up comes after a coming-of-age campaign at Lyon. The 21-year-old debuted for Lyon way back in 2019 but this has been the season he's elevated himself to top-class status. Cherki scored 12 goals and created 19 more in all competitions, leading Ligue 1 and the Europa League for assists. Manchester City fans will be keeping a close eye on his performances, with a move to the Premier League side edging closer. Trevoh Chalobah (England) It's been a whirlwind 12 months for Trevoh Chalobah. Last summer he was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea and informed he would not be travelling on the club's pre-season tour. Advertisement A loan move to Crystal Palace followed, only for Chelsea to hastily recall the defender in January after a string of impressive performances. Chalobah ended the 2024/25 campaign clutching a European trophy after Conference League success and has earned a first inclusion with England. Thomas Tuchel knows the player well from his time at Chelsea and could run the rule over Chalobah when the Three Lions take on Andorra and Senegal this month. Franco Mastantuono (Argentina) Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are currently in a transfer tug-of-war for Franco Mastantuono, a player some are projecting will be one of his generation's best number tens. The 17-year-old has been called up by world champions Argentina this month after an eye-catching start to the season at River Plate. Advertisement He's scored seven times in 20 games, including a fabulous free-kick in the Superclasico against Boca Juniors. Mastantuono could become just the fifth player to debut for La Albiceleste before turning 18. How to watch Germany vs. Portugal in UEFA Nations League semifinal

After the Champions League finale and several domestic cup finals in May, June sets the table with four prestigious national teams — Germany, Spain, France and Portugal. Wednesday's semifinal is a good one. Germany plays on a home pitch in Munich, seeking its first Nations League trophy lift. Visiting Portugal won the maiden tourney in 2018-19. The Germans last won international hardware in 2017 at the now-defunct FIFA Confederations Cup. Advertisement Germany's highly-regarded Florian Wirtz is one of the world's top attackers, and he celebrated his 22nd birthday last month. Portuguese prodigy Rodrigo Mora, age 18, just got the senior team call-up for this semifinal. What a wealth of rising talent on display here. The Nations League marks the last time that these national teams play competitively before World Cup qualifiers. The Germans reached three consecutive World Cup semifinals in 2002, 2006 and 2010, then won it all in 2014. Since then, it's been back-to-back disappointing group stage knockouts. Similarly, they made the semis in three straight Euros from 2008-16, but have bounced out in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals in the last two iterations. Portugal won Euro 2016, but hasn't made it to the semifinals in the four major tournaments since. The Portuguese have just two World Cup semifinal berths all-time, but reached the quarters in 2022. Cristiano Ronaldo is still rostered for Portugal. He won the Golden Shoe and World Player of the Year when Mora was an infant. He's still scoring at 40 years old, and he has no shortage of high-pressure international experience. Julian Nagelsmann's side got here with a narrow 5-4 aggregate win against Italy. It stole one in Milan, 2-1, then survived a comprehensive 3-3 thriller in Dortmund. Portugal advanced past Denmark, but needed extra time in the second leg. Ronaldo scored twice in the second leg. Francisco Trincão also found the net twice in that match, as a substitute no less. Roberto Martínez and his aggressive bunch have the most attacks and corners taken in Nations League. They also have been offside the most. Germany leads the competition in goals scored with a balanced offense: Tim Kleindienst has a team-best four goals, while Wirtz, Deniz Undav and Jamal Musiala have three apiece. Advertisement Wednesday's winner faces the victor of Thursday's Spain-France semifinal. The third-place match will precede the championship tilt on Sunday. Barcelona director Deco hails Porto youngster

Barcelona sporting director Deco has this weekend opened up on his appreciation for the talents of up-and-coming Porto talent Rodrigo Mora. Mora, for those not familiar with his name, is an 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who is currently plying his trade in his home country, with the aforementioned Porto. Advertisement The starlet is fresh off something of a breakout campaign in 2024/25, which saw him afforded 37 appearances across all competitions. And along the way, Mora turned heads courtesy of a string of standout performances, chipping in with 11 goals and four assists, too. During an appearance in Portugal this weekend, the name of the teenage prodigy was in turn put to the aforementioned Deco. And the Barcelona director, in quotes relaid by Diario Sport, made use of the opportunity to lavish praise on Mora: 'Rodrigo Mora is a great player. I'm not going to talk about the transfer market, because it's a moment that isn't even an event. It's fantastic to see a boy as young as him take on this leadership at FC Porto. I'm happy, because it's my club and he's a player with exceptional talent. We have the idea of having the players we have at Barcelona.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Real Madrid identify 18-year-old FC Porto talent as the next big signing

According to a fresh update from Fichajes, Real Madrid have zeroed in on one of the brightest young stars in Portuguese football, namely, Rodrigo Mora. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has enjoyed a breakout season with FC Porto and is now firmly on the radar of Los Blancos, who continue to double down on their strategy of investing in elite young talent. Advertisement Mora's rise has been nothing short of sensational. In his debut professional season in the Primeira Liga, he registered 11 goals and 4 assists, a remarkable return for a teenager operating in midfield. His performances have not only made him indispensable to Porto's attacking structure but have also earned him his first senior call-up to the Portuguese national team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League final four. (Photo by) Mora's inclusion in the national team at such a young age is a testament to his raw ability and tactical intelligence, and Real Madrid appear to be ready to move before other European heavyweights join the race. Advertisement It must be noted that Mora recently renewed his contract with Porto until 2030, and it includes a €70 million release clause. However, that figure does not intimidate Real Madrid. The club has long been willing to pay top dollar for potential superstars if they feel the player is worth the effort and Mora could well be the next in line. With the club already securing Dean Huijsen and potentially Alvaro Carreras, the pursuit of Mora highlights Real Madrid's ambition to build a generational squad capable of dominating Europe over the next decade. Mora's technical skill, attacking vision, and goal threat from midfield fit perfectly with the club's footballing DNA, and there is a growing sense within the Spanish capital that he may soon wear the white of Madrid.
