Fox Hollow Farm serial killer's 10th victim identified: coroner
A 10th victim has been recovered from Fox Hollow Farm, where suspected serial killer Herb Baumeister lived in Indiana.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office said in a news release that the body found at Fox Hallow Farm in Westfield, Indiana, belongs to Daniel Thomas Halloran. According to Fox 59, Halloran was born in 1972, but officials aren't sure when he died.
Halloran is the 10th identified victim from Fox Hollow Farm, but investigators have tied Baumeister to at least 25 victims overall. A spokesperson for the Hamilton County Coroner's Office told Fox News Digital it still has three DNA profiles that haven't yet been identified.
Halloran's daughter, 32-year-old Coral Halloran, told WTHR that she didn't know how to respond upon hearing that her father was an alleged victim of Baumeister. She said her father went missing in 1993, just one year after she was born.
"I feel kind of like I'm mourning," Coral said. "All my life, I kind of expected my dad to be around and one day hoping he'd come try to find me.
"It makes me sick and weary to my stomach, having to know my dad was brutally murdered. It's hard. And for all the other victims out there, their families, I'm with them. I'm praying hard for them."
Police believe Baumeister lured gay men to his home between the 1980s and 1990s, where he would allegedly kill them and bury their bodies across his 18-acre property. Around 10,000 bone fragments and charred bones were found on the property.
Detectives believe Baumeister often went to gay bars in the Indianapolis area. During periods when his family was out of town, Baumeister lured men into his home where it's believed he killed them. Baumeister owned the Sav-A-Lot shopping chain.

In 1996, Baumeister killed himself in a Canadian park shortly after bone fragments were discovered on his property, prompting an investigation to be opened.
"This identification is a significant development in our ongoing efforts to provide answers to the families of those who went missing," Jeff Jellison, Hamilton County coroner, said after Halloran's remains were identified. "We are grateful for the expertise of Othram and the advances in forensic science that made this possible."
According to a recent documentary from ABC News Studios titled "The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer," investigators believe Baumeister filmed his victims using a hidden camera placed in a basement air vent.
"Something to relive… the murders," said retired Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Det. Cary Milligan. "We're looking through the bottom of the entertainment area… and we noticed this vent. … I was suspicious that if Herb was videotaping any activity that might have been going on. … That may have been a way that Herb could've gained power over the individuals that he was killing."

"It's not uncommon for serial killers to keep mementos or trinkets from victims," Milligan added.
Jellison previously told Fox News Digital it's unlikely the video recordings will be recovered.
The coroner's office said forensic laboratory Othram Inc. played a critical role in identifying Halloran through DNA analysis. The Indiana State Police, University of Indianapolis, Human Identification Center and Marion County Coroner's Office also assisted in identifying the remains.

2 campers found dead on remote island in Lake Superior — 5 people were killed in less than a year on Great Lake
Two campers were found dead on a remote island in the middle of Lake Superior, according to officials — marking the fourth and fifth deaths on the Great Lake in less than a year. The two unidentified individuals were discovered by authorities Sunday in an isolated camping ground on Isle Royale National Park in Michigan, not far from the Canadian coastline, park rangers said in a statement. AP Two park rangers traveled to the camp overnight after receiving two separate reports of dead bodies at a campsite on the remote island, the release stated. The bodies were discovered Monday by the rangers, who were also supported from the air via helicopter, officials said. The causes of death for the two campers are not known at this time. Isle Royale National Park, tucked away on the cusp of American territory above Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and is comprised of 450 small islands, according to the NPS. Canada police bust trucks carrying $47M in cocaine; $1.6M in stolen electronics recovered in US
Canadian investigators recently arrested nine men for using trucks to smuggle cocaine from the U.S. into Canada; while police in Arizona recovered a truckload carrying $1.6 million worth of stolen cargo; and freight theft cases in Illinois and Kentucky surged in April. Canadian authorities said Tuesday they have arrested nine men following the seizure of $47.9 million worth of bricked cocaine, the largest drug bust in Peel Regional Police history. The arrests follow a year-long international investigation into a transnational organized crime network smuggling drugs using tractor-trailers from the U.S. into the Toronto area, according to a news release. 'Thanks to the leadership of Peel Regional Police, and the support of national and international law enforcement agencies … a transnational criminal network is no longer operating or flooding our communities with illicit drugs from the United States,' Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah said in a statement. 'Organized crime continues to exploit borders and pose serious threats to public safety.'Peel, located about 24 miles from Toronto, is considered the heart of the trucking industry in the area. It is in Ontario, a province in east-central Canada that borders the U.S. Peel investigators began looking into a cocaine smuggling operation in June 2024 that was using commercial vehicles to carry the drugs from the U.S. into Canada. Over the course of a six month investigation, Peel authorities linked multiple individuals, trucking companies, and storage sites to the transnational smuggling operation. The nine men arrested in connection to the case are from the Ontario area. They face 35 criminal charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offences. Two loaded semi-automatic handguns were also recovered, police said the accused men were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, Canada. Supply chain risk management firm Overhaul recently worked with law enforcement to recover a full truckload of stolen electronics after the tractor-trailer carrying the load was taken from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The theft occurred when the shipment was fraudulently uplifted from the airport, Overhaul said in a news release. Instead of being delivered to its intended destination in Childress, Texas, the cargo was transported through New Mexico and eventually into Arizona. The tractor-trailer was located in Flagstaff, Arizona, where state troopers successfully initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, authorities discovered three individuals in the tractor, two of whom were identified as drivers. All three subjects were arrested at the scene. Further investigation revealed that two of the subjects were in the country illegally, Overhaul said. The trailer and its cargo, valued at $1.6 million, were recovered intact and returned to its owner. New data from GearTrack's Cargo Security Index and Verisk's CargoNet shows California, Texas, and Illinois accounted for 68% of cargo theft incidents in April, according to a news theft cases in Illinois during April were up 81% month-over-month, while cases in Kentucky skyrocketed 200% month-over-month. Cargo theft cases in Florida declined by 44% in April compared to March. Electronics, vehicles, and apparel were the top targets of cargo thieves – including a stolen shipment of bitcoin mining computers valued at $2.7 million discovered at the Los Angeles International Airport. 'Recent tariffs on imported vehicles and auto components may also be contributing to a rise in vehicle related thefts,' according to the Cargo Security Index.
