Destiny 2's New ‘Win To Unlock The Ability To Pay' Ornament Is Bad
It's always fun when Bungie does something like let a community member reveal a new item coming to Destiny 2, but poor Benny Shmurda was given the short end of the stick when it came to revealing a new Trials ornament for Conditional Finality.
Here's the gun and the idea:
A 'Bungie Reward' is when a player achieves something, like beating a raid early, for the ability to order a physical item like a raid-themed jacket in the Bungie Store. It stands to reason that Bungie isn't just going to mass send out free jackets to everyone, so it's a relatively uncontroversial practice.
This? No. No no.
Changing this idea to an in-game system where you are now being asked to achieve something (go flawless in Trials of Osiris) to unlock the ability to buy a digital ornament for real money (this will cost about $7-10 depending on your Silver stores). Even if it will be 'free' for in-game Bright Dust later, it's still a frown-worthy practice.
While most players and creators seem to be in my camp, I've seen a few pushing back, including a high-profile player like Saltagreppo:

Unlock A Trivia Ladder
No, it's different. Again, a Seal is a physical item that Bungie is not going to automatically ship to everyone, so paying for that is expected. It's also not the same as getting a dungeon or raid exotic and having the (admittedly annoying) pop-up asking you to buy an ornament after. That is a wholly new gun you just got, which is the prize. Here, the Trials ornament is the prize for a gun you've had a while. And you would expect it to drop as a reward from playing Trials itself, not simply unlocking the ability to pay for it. It's just not the same thing.
The idea that Bungie will offer it for bright dust later feels like a half measure, and if they're going to bother doing that part of it to make it 'free' later, then just offer it as a drop (perhaps not a guaranteed one) from Trials, which lord knows always needs fun new rewards to chase in the decaying state of Destiny PvP. But this went from an idea that was an automatic community win to an example of desperate nickel and diming. It's worse than simply buying a Trials ornament for a gun in the store (available to anyone), which they've done before, given the way it's being presented and unlocked.
Will the community cause a big enough fuss to change this? I don't know. Bungie has enough going on with the huge launch of Edge of Fate next week, so this may get put on a burner. But it would have to be resolved before people could start to pay for it, and Bungie may just throw up their hands and not bother trying to escape the controversy as the community moves on to something else. But if it becomes a regular thing? That's not going to be good at all.

Music Legend, 72, 'Always Felt Like a Loser,' 'Angry at the World' originally appeared on Parade. , the iconic '80s singer behind such hits as "True Colors," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Time After Time," opened up in a new interview with Women's World about her anxiety as a kid, feeling like a loser and being "angry at the world." "When I was younger, I was angry at the world. I was the oddball. Then I learned it was my job to make the world fairer. Sometimes, that's just smiling at someone. It's a tiny thing with a big impact. You must enjoy life as best as you can because hey, when you're not here anymore, you're not here!'" said the 72-year-old singer, adding, "Making people happy is important. When I was a kid, I didn't fit in. I always felt like a loser." But as an adult, she came into her own and definitely marches to the beat of her own drum. "I chose a job where I could wear whatever the hell I want. Find the kind of clothes that make you feel strong, inspired and confident. If you find a hat that makes you feel good, wear the hat! Find the shoes that make you feel comfortable, the clothes that make you feel alive. When you do things just for yourself, it will make you truly happy," said Lauper. She also said of her upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, "I'm really happy. I'm proud to stand on the shoulders of the women who came before me … I started singing when I was 2 after the lady upstairs taught me a song in Italian. Then I sang it, everybody applauded, and I was hooked. The songs tell my story — we should all share our stories in some way. That's what I focus on: bringing community together." Lauper is set to be inducted in the 2025 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Her fellow 2025 classmates include Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Outkast, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes in the performers category. Other honorees include SALT-N-PEPA and Warren Zevon in the musical influence category and Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye in the musical excellence category. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Music Legend, 72, 'Always Felt Like a Loser,' 'Angry at the World' first appeared on Parade on Jul 12, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 12, 2025, where it first appeared.

John Cena finally reveals when his last WWE match will take place
The post John Cena finally reveals when his last WWE match will take place appeared first on ClutchPoints. We're over halfway through John Cena's farewell tour, and the reigning WWE Champion revealed when his last match will take place. Advertisement He spoke to Page Six on the red carpet for his new movie Heads of State, which he stars in alongside Idris Elba, about his final match in WWE. While he would not reveal who it would be against, he promised something 'compelling.' 'Well, I don't want to downplay the action in WWE,' said Cena. 'There's always a bunch of action over there. And yes, I'm 48, my last match will be in mid-December. 'We're still trying to figure out a place to do it. I said [I would work] 36 dates in January — we're halfway through. Gosh, it's been a lot of compelling TV, and I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but I think we're just getting started,' he continued. When will John Cena wrestle his last WWE match? Cena said his last match will take place in December 2025. It is unclear at what event — perhaps the December 2025 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event — it will take place, but he will close out the year with his final match. Advertisement That means Cena has a little under half of his dates left to fulfill. At the Royal Rumble, he said he would work about 36 shows in 2025. However, that did not mean he would compete in 36 matches, so don't expect him to wrestle 15 more times before the end of the year. Cena announced his farewell tour at Money in the Bank in July 2024. He said that 2025 would be his final year of in-ring competition. So, fans around the world have gotten a chance to see him one last time. He started the year by competing in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches, winning the latter. Cena then won his record-setting 17th world championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. He won with the help of Travis Scott, who got involved. Since then, Cena has held onto the title. He has successfully defended it against two of his biggest rivals, Randy Orton and CM Punk. Cena also had a feud with R-Truth, now Ron Killings, in between the others.
