Abou El-Enein Foundation Distributes 250,000 Kilos of Eid Meat Nationwide

Quarter-million kilos of Qurbani meat to reach vulnerable families in nationwide charity campaign
The Abou El-Enein Foundation for Social and Cultural Development continues its large-scale humanitarian campaign to distribute Eid al-Adha meat across all Egyptian governorates, in partnership with the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.
The campaign, which began nearly a month ago, aims to distribute a total of 250,000 kilograms of high-quality meat to low-income and vulnerable families as part of the foundation's ongoing social support efforts.
Each day, as festive chants and spiritual celebrations of Eid fill the air, families gather at the foundation's main centres in Giza, Ard El-Lewa, and other governorates across the country to receive their share of 'Eid meat.'
All sacrificial animals are carefully selected from premium Egyptian cattle breeds of medium weight. Slaughtering, processing, and packaging are carried out under strict health and quality standards, operating around the clock to ensure meat safety and freshness upon delivery.
The campaign is powered by a large network of dedicated volunteers and foundation staff, who have worked tirelessly for months — without breaks or holidays — to prepare for the initiative. Their efforts are directly guided by Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Foundation, alongside Somaya Abou El-Enein, Vice-Chair of the Foundation.
Emphasis has been placed on welcoming recipients with dignity, streamlining the distribution process, and ensuring a joyful and respectful atmosphere throughout the campaign.
This initiative reflects the foundation's long-standing commitment to supporting underprivileged communities and promoting inclusive development through sustained charitable outreach.

World Bank to Support Syria with $146 Million
Taarek Refaat The Syrian government began formal discussions on Sunday regarding a $146 million grant agreement from the World Bank, allocated to repairing electricity transmission lines with Jordan and Turkey, the first step of its kind in nearly three decades. Syrian Finance Minister Mohammed Yusr Barnieh confirmed in a LinkedIn post that technical meetings have begun with the participation of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Energy, and the Central Bank of Syria, along with independent experts. A large delegation of World Bank experts, including financial, legal, and electricity sector specialists, is also participating in the discussions, in addition to remote participants from Paris and Washington. The minister explained that the government is seeking to finalize all arrangements related to the agreement today and tomorrow, in preparation for presenting the project to the World Bank Board of Directors on June 23 for approval. Barnieh expressed the Syrian government's commitment to implementing the project with high efficiency to ensure its success, which could open the door to a new, doubled grant in the next fiscal year, beginning in July 2025. This grant is the first direct support provided by the World Bank Group to Syria in nearly thirty years. According to observers, this reflects the beginning of cautious international shifts in dealing with the Syrian issue at the economic level, especially in light of the country's urgent need to rehabilitate its infrastructure damaged by the war. Suspect in Custody after 6 People Burned in Colorado
Taarek Refaat FBI Director Kash Patel announced Sunday that the bureau had received information about a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, and was conducting a comprehensive investigation. Dollar Drops against Egyptian Pound to 49.63
Taarek Refaat The dollar exchange rate against the Egyptian pound witnessed new changes in trading on Sunday, according to the Central Bank of Egypt. The exchange rate continued to fluctuate between rises and falls in recent days, particularly after the CBE's recent decision to cut interest rates for the second time in a row, bringing the rate down by 3.25% since April 17. The dollar exchange rate declined in several banks on the first day after the weekend of Friday and Saturday. At the central bank, the dollar recorded approximately EGP 49.63 to buy and 49.76 to sell.
