Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are coming together for Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus trilogy called Ramayana. A source told Bollywood Hungama that this shall be the costliest Indian film ever made with a budget of Rs 835 crore. A source was quoted saying, 'The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which in itself speaks volumes about the investment required to create some of the most original visuals.'
And now, as per reports, this is the star-studded ensemble of the magnum opus:
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
Ranbir Kapoor – Lord Ram
Sai Pallavi – Sita
Yash – Ravana
Sunny Deol – Hanuman
Ravi Dubey – Lakshman
Lara Dutta – Kaikeyi
Rakul Preet Singh – Shurpanakha
Kajal Aggarwal – Mandodari
Amitabh Bachchan – Jatayu
Anil Kapoor – King Janak (rumoured)
Mohit Raina – Lord Shiva
Vikrant Massey – Meghnad
Kunal Kapoor – Lord Indra
Vivek Oberoi – Vidyutjihva
Arun Govil – King Dasharath
Adinath Kothare – Bharat
Ramya Krishnan – Kaushalya (rumoured)
Sheeba Chaddha – Sumitra (rumoured)
Bobby Deol – Kumbhakaran (rumoured)
The entire cast is yet to be confirmed by the makers but this looks ambitious indeed.
A source said, 'These are inflated figures being planted to generate curiosity. In truth, such astronomical budgetary numbers are impossible. From what I know the project's producers are currently looking at a budget of Rs 500-550 crores. Anything beyond that would be fatal for the project,' said the anonymous source.
It added, 'Anything beyond that would be fatal for the project. They want to make the most lavish version of Ramayana . But they also want to make sure they don't assign a budget that would be impossible to recover.'

Book your tickets today! 🎟️ #Housefull5… — Nadiadwala Grandson (@NGEMovies) June 9, 2025 Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 features a star-studded cast that also features Nana Patekar, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt appear in special cameos. The film was shot on a luxurious cruise that journeyed from London to France, Spain, and back to the UK. Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The Hindu's review of the film called it 'entertainment for imbeciles,' stating, 'Director Tarun Mansukhani falters in carrying forward the unapologetic tone set by Sajid Khan. Hailing from the Dharma school, Tarun cocks a snook at animal lovers, generates racist jokes, and lets the camera loose on the cleavage but his heavy-handed approach results in diminishing returns. It is like descending into the gutter with the confidence that the clothes will remain unspoiled. The strand of suspense thriller is more potent, but the comic element does not serve it effectively.'
