A Franklin woman is facing charges for conspiring to kill her ex-husband, a former Nashville television and radio personality named Aaron Solomon.
Franklin police announced late Friday evening it arrested Angelia Solomon following an investigation with assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into 'solicitation to commit first degree murder.' Angelia Solomon, who publicly goes by Angie Huffines on social media, is in jail on a $500,000 bond.
Franklin police provided no other details in a news release Friday and said the investigation is ongoing. Angie Solomon is a pharmacist with UnitedHealthcare, according to her LinkedIn.
Aaron Solomon, a former anchor at WSMV4, and Angie Solomon and daughter Gracie Solomon were at the center of some attention locally following the death of Aaron and Angie's son, Grant. Grant Solomon, who was a senior in high school at Grace Christian Academy in Franklin, died in a car accident in July 2020 shortly after his 18th birthday.

California woman sues Costco for $14M after display fell on her, causing ‘permanent injuries'

A California woman is suing Costco for more than $14 million after a cabinet allegedly fell on top of her in a store – claiming the incident caused her a traumatic brain injury. Sadie Novotny was walking down a Costco store aisle on March 22 when a heavy liquor cabinet fell and pinned her to the ground, a complaint filed in April alleged. The Bay Area woman claimed the large cabinet had 'thin legs' and was balanced precariously on a 'worn' and 'inadequate' wooden pallet in a Costco store in Santa Rosa, according to the lawsuit. Costco was sued for over $14 million after the woman's injury. AP The incident allegedly left Novotny with multiple permanent and severe injuries, including traumatic brain injury, the suit said. Novotny is seeking approximately $5 million for pain, suffering and inconvenience; $5 million for emotional distress; $100,000 for medical expenses and loss of earnings; and $4 million for future medical expenses and loss of earnings. The plaintiff, 46, works as a private practice psychotherapist, specializing in marriage and family counseling, according to her LinkedIn and several background check sites. The lawsuit alleges Costco is responsible for negligence in failing to adequately operate its store and manage merchandise, as well as failing to train, manage and supervise employees so the heavy liquor cabinet did not fall on the plaintiff. Lawyers for Novotny and Costco did not immediately respond to The Post's requests for comment. While the suit was originally filed in Alameda County Superior Court, it was moved to the Northern District Court at Costco's request. Both parties are due in court in September for a case management meeting.

Top NYPD chief and NYC deputy mayor meet with Trump on NJ golf course

NEW YORK — A top NYPD chief and a New York City deputy mayor met with President Trump at his New Jersey golf course over the weekend — as tensions continue to ratchet up between immigrant advocates and federal authorities carrying out a crackdown. Social media photos posted by Chief of Department John Chell, the NYPD's top uniformed cop, and Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry show the duo posing for photos with Trump on Sunday. Daughtry, Mayor Eric Adams' top public safety deputy at City Hall, on Facebook called it a 'fantastic afternoon' at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. And Chell on LinkedIn said there was 'good conversation with a few laughs and a great lunch.' 'Even the wife received a call from the big guy!' Chell added. The NYPD said Chell was there on his personal time. Both Chell and Daughtry declined to comment on the meetup. A source familiar with the meeting said there no talk about politics or the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, including in Los Angeles, where the National Guard has controversially been sent in by Trump. New York is a sanctuary city and only assists the feds in criminal matters, not cases involving only immigration violations. Christopher Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax, the Trump-friendly television network Chell regularly appears on, told the Daily News the outing was pulled together by Trump and his team. 'President Trump invited leaders of the NYPD out for golf because he has tremendous respect for the men and women cops who put their lives on the line every day,' said Ruddy, who also attended the lunch and golf outing. Adams has told reporters questions about immigration arrests by the Department of Homeland Security should be directed to the feds. He has been accused by critics of cozying up to the president since the Department of Justice secured a highly controversial dismissal of his federal corruption indictment in April. Adams' office did not respond to a request for comment Monday. _____
