'I was on the one block away, and I heard shots being fired and then a bunch of police, they came to neutralize it," said 30-year-old Oleksandr Stupak, as reported by the New York Post. Stupak was standing across from the skyscraper when gunfire erupted.
"I went to the Citizen app, and it says active shooting. A lot of police started to come. I mean. [It's ] crazy,' he added.

Another witness was in the tower's lobby when Tamura opened fire. The witness said he was left gasping for breath on a neighboring office building's stoop, and decided to call a loved one to let them know what happened. 'I was at work, and this guy came in with an assault rifle and started shooting. I was in the lobby at work,' the man said into the phone.
NFL employees were asked to shelter in place
The shooting took place inside a Midtown skyscraper that houses Blackstone and NFL headquarters Monday, July 28. According to ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington, NFL employees were asked to shelter in place during the shooting.
Darlington wrote in an X post, 'I'm told NFL employees at 345 Park Ave have been told to shelter in place after reports of gunfire nearby.' He added that an NFL security alert sent to employees read, 'Do not exit the building. Secure your location and hide until law enforcement clears your floor. Please switch phones to silent.'

The rifle used by the gunman to carry out the deadly shooting is a Palmetto State Armory AR-15 assault rifle in .223-caliber. Sources told the New York Post that terrorism does not appear to be a factor in Tamura's rampage.

About Diddy's case Diddy was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution by a New York jury last month. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. To his relief, the music mogul was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges after a marathon trial in which he was accused of harrowing abuse. The sentencing for the trial has been set for October 3.

Three wounded in shooting at New York's Times Square
New York: Three people were injured in a shooting at Times Square, said the New York City Police Department (NYPD). All the injured were hospitalized and in stable condition, said an NYPD spokesperson. A 17-year-old boy was held in custody and a firearm was recovered, Xinhua news agency reported. Saturday's shooting occurred at around 1:20 a.m. East Time (0520 GMT) at the intersection of 44th Street and Seventh Avenue in the city's heavily touristed district. Videos on social media show people running away from the scene after the shooting, while the police were surrounding a vehicle and attending to the wounded lying on the ground. A suspect has been reportedly taken into custody and is being questioned. No charges have been pressed so far. More details are awaited. The incident came days after July's deadly shooting in a Manhattan office tower, which left four people dead. Earlier on July 28, 2025, a gunman killed four people and injured six others before shooting himself dead inside an office building in Manhattan, New York City. (Bloomberg) -- Hundreds of Haitian community members in Brooklyn joined business leaders, politicians and the family of security guard Aland Etienne in mourning his death in last month's shooting at a New York City office building. 'What happened in New York was senseless,' his brother Gathmand Etienne said, standing beside his casket at his funeral. 'It took away a man who still had so much to give.' Etienne, 46, was one of four people killed on July 28 in the lobby of 345 Park Avenue when Shane Tamura, 27, entered the building and opened fire. After being shot, Etienne tried to crawl to a panel that controls the elevators but collapsed before he could get there. The killings reverberated across New York, from glass-tower boardrooms to Etienne's Haitian enclave in Flatbush, and unsettled the corporate tenants of the 44-story office tower, home to Blackstone Inc., KPMG LLP and Rudin Management Co., a building landlord, underscoring vulnerabilities in even the most secure commercial addresses. The building also houses the offices of the NFL. Tamura was upset about football-related brain injuries. Tamura also shot and killed police officer Didarul Islam and senior Blackstone real estate executive Wesley LePatner before climbing the elevator to the 33rd floor and killing Rudin employee Julia Hyman.
