In the world of showbiz, many factors can influence the cinematic success of a film. From the strong storyline, direction to the production cost, many variables are important to decide if the will make it or break it at the office. However, out of all the other elements, the most important decision is the casting. The cast of the film can hold a paramount role in drawing a massive audience. They are the face of the character; therefore, their style, personality, and performance can influence how the film will be perceived. Imagine your favourite film with a different cast. Wouldn't that change the entire perspective of the film in your mind?
One such example of this is a film that had a casting re-shuffle, and finally it fell into the lap of the one whose destiny was tied to it. This cult classic film is Darr. It featured the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, and was directed by the celebrated filmmaker Yash Chopra. The film was both commercially and critically acclaimed and redefined the career of Shah Rukh Khan. But before him, Aamir Khan was supposed to play his part; however, that couldn't materialise.
Recently, during the promotion of his upcoming project 'Sitare Zameen Par', Aamir Khan spoke about his exit from the film 'Darr'.
Clearing his part, Aamir said, I did not say no to Darr. I was fired.' He further shared that he wanted a joint narration since it was a two-hero film. 'My principle is, when there are two actors, the director has to give a joint narration. Yash ji did not want to give a joint narration. He fired me. Everyone has their own way of working. I think when two people are working together, they should listen to the narration together so we can work together as a team.'
He further spoke about his belief that when two actors are together in a film, they both should listen to the script together. 'That didn't happen in Darr, so I was fired. I was removed from Darr,' he shared.
Aamir Khan spoke about a similar incident that happened during Andaz Apna Apna with Salman Khan. He said, 'Salman cancelled the narration three times. His secretary was there, he said Salman will listen, you guys listen later. I said I will listen when Salman listens.' Unfortunately, this way of working didn't sit well with Yash Chopra ;therefore, he was pulled out.
Mr perfectionist of Bollywood is once again taking over headlines as she is all geared up for his new release of 'Sitare Zameen Par'. The film is directed by RS Prasanna. The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh. It will hit the theatres on June 20th, 2025

Did PK producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra offer Rs 8 crore to stop Akshay Kumar's OMG? Director Umesh Shukla breaks silence
Akshay Kumar 's film OMG – Oh My God! became quite a hit at the box office. Also starring Paresh Rawal in the lead role, the film was highly praised by fans and critics. At that time, there were reports that the film's subject is quite similar to Aamir Khan's PK, and that the producer offered Rs 8 crore to OMG director Umesh Shukla to stop the film. Now, the filmmaker has finally broken his silence on the rumors and dismissed them. In a recent interview with Friday Talkies, OMG director Umesh Shukla said that people spoke about Oh My God's similarities with PK. Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and writer Abhijat Joshi had watched his play on similar subjects. Talking about similar genres, he shared that even if someone is working on a similar subject, there will naturally be some resemblance. He compared it to the romantic genre where 'I love you' is present in all the projects. Umesh further talked about Rs 8 crore rumors and shared, 'Uss time afwah thi ki PK mein Vidhu Vinod Chopra sahab jo the unhone mujhe 8 crore offer kiye the film nahi banane ke liye. Par wo sab afwayein thi. Aesa kuch hua nahi tha.' (At that time, there were rumors that Vidhu Vinod Chopra sir, who was part of PK, had offered me Rs 8 crores to not make the film. But those were just rumors. Nothing like that actually happened). He also added, 'Wo apne aap mein itne talented log hai. Rajkummar Hirani sahab, Abhijat, Vidhu Vinod Chopra sahab, Aamir Khan sahab, sab log itne talented hai ki wo itni unchi harkat karte hi nahi the paisa dene ke liye. Yeh sab uchli thi uss samay par aisa kuch nahi tha.' (They are all incredibly talented individuals—Rajkumar Hirani sir, Abhijat, Vidhu Vinod Chopra sir, Aamir Khan sir—they are way above doing something like that, offering money to stop a film. These were just talks that floated around back then, but there was no truth to it). Earlier, Pinkvilla exclusively reported that OMG 2 director Amit Rai is gearing up for the film Oh My Dog, which will be an adorable story about kids and dogs. A fresh star cast to be featured and even Pankaj Tripathi might have a cameo in it.

A dwindling audience
Tmidst the glitz and spectacle of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), one topic weighed on the minds of most film industry stakeholders—the current crisis in the theatre business. 'I have always believed that India has too few theatres, given the size of the country and [number of] people,' actor Aamir Khan said at a session. 'Our biggest theatre hits have had footfalls of 30-35 million. That's 2 per cent of our population in what is a cinema-loving country.' Seated next to him was Ajay Bijli, founder of PVR Cinemas and managing director of country's biggest multiplex chain, PVR INOX Ltd. Bijli replied in jest, 'Main office jaata hoon [I better head to office to get work done].'

‘Jaldi Chadh Gayi Mujhe': Aamir Khan Reveals Why He Got Blackout Drunk On His 60th Birthday
New Delhi: Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan recently revealed that he experienced a complete blackout after getting drunk at his 60th birthday bash, which he celebrated on March 14. In the latest episode of The Bombay Journey for Mashable India, Aamir shared that the party was organized by his daughter Ira Khan and ex-wife Reena Dutta, who invited all his loved ones and well-wishers. Although Aamir has almost completely quit drinking, he gave in to his friends' insistence and had a few drinks that evening which hit him unexpectedly hard. He said,'Yaar, bohot interesting hua. Ira, Reena, everyone organised a birthday party for me on my 60th. They invited all my loved ones. It was a memorable day, like all the memories will stay with me. I don't drink much these days, I've cut down alcohol consumption to almost zero. But that day, because it was my 60th birthday, everybody insisted that I have a drink. Toh maine kaha theek hai. Aur kyunki mujhe aadat nahi hai, bohot jaldi chadh gayi mujhe. (So I said okay. And since I'm not used to it, it hit me really fast). We started at around 7 pm, and by 9 pm, I knew that I was flying.' Although it was a special day, Aamir confessed that he has no memory of most of it due to a "clean blackout." He mentioned that there are photos and videos from the evening where people said nice things about him, but he doesn't remember any of it. Aamir Khan on Why He Quit Drinking Earlier, Aamir had revealed that he gave up alcohol because he lacked control while drinking. However, he admitted that he still smokes a pipe. In a candid conversation with actor Nana Patekar, Aamir opened up about his biggest personal struggle — his lack of discipline. While he maintains strong discipline in his professional life, especially with films, he described himself as an "extremist" in other areas. 'I smoke a pipe. Now I have quit drinking, but at one point, I used to drink. And when I used to drink, I would drink all night,' he said. On the Work Front, Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by R.S. Prasanna. The film is a remake of the Spanish movie Campeones and is slated to hit theatres on June 20.
