Moment men brawl outside Asda caught on camera in Scots 'road rage' street fight

Daily Record28-04-2025
Two men have been caught on camera brawling near a busy Scots supermarket. An onlooker captured a street fight between two men at a roundabout outside of the Asda store in Kirkcaldy, Fife, on Sunday. In the video posted by Fife Jammer Locations, a bald man wearing sunglasses can be seen putting the other man with short ginger hair in a headlock beside a black BMW car, while a woman attempts to restrain the pair. Another bystander wearing a baseball cap attempts to help the woman separate the pair, getting between the two men as the ginger-haired man, wearing a grey hoodie and tracksuit bottoms, escapes the headlock. The bystander and woman stand between the two as the ginger-haired man gestures at the bald man before another argument ensues. Police Scotland said they were not alerted to the altercation. The video, titled "road rage", gathered nearly 300,000 views and over 350 comments. One labelled the brawl : "Fife and the Furious." Another commented: "The guy in the hat who walks up and ended it is now our towns version of Batman ." A third said: "What a sad world when adults can't go to a supermarket without acting like cavemen. No wonder the young generation are bloody feral ." Yesterday, in an unrelated incident, a 13-year-old was charged over allegedly carrying a weapon as two sets of football fans clashed on a residential street in Fife. A mass brawl broke out between supporters of Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton who played in the Scottish Championship in Kirkcaldy on Saturday, April 26. Streets surrounding Raith's ground Stark's Park became overrun with masked yobs who charged and battled near parked cars and in gardens. Shocking footage shows large groups of young football fans running at each other with pyro going off just yards away from vehicles. In the clips shared on social media the driver of a silver car tries to evade the chaos. Just as they are trying to drive away a blue smoke bomb is let off beside the motor. Swathes of fans can be seen clashing around the car which becomes caught in the mayhem. Other horrified parents with children look on as the two mobs chase each other throughout the street. In the clip, two cops can be seen chasing down dozens of football thugs who are covering their faces with masks or hoods up - with many of them dressed in all black. In another clip, several ultras have a stand off with a resident who can be heard screaming at them to get out of their garden. Police have confirmed that they responded to the football related disorder. Officers swooped on the violence and charged a 16-year-old man over alleged possession of pyrotechnics. Meanwhile, a 13-year-old was charged for alleged possession of a weapon. The force says that enquiries into the bedlam are set to continue.

Shoreham Airshow disaster: Son's heartbreaking 5 words after dad died in fireball

Tanya Hewstone, 30, wants a new investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 2015 Shoreham Airshow disaster in which a vintage Hawker Hunter jet ploughed into the A27 and killed 11 men The ex-partner of a man killed in the Shoreham Airshow disaster is demanding a criminal probe into the tragedy which claimed 11 lives is re-opened. ‌ Tanya Hewstone, 30, is set to launch a new petition calling for a fresh investigation into the actions of pilot Andy Hill who was severely injured in the crash and cleared of manslaughter following a trial in 2019. Mr Hill was at the controls of a Hawker Hunter T7 jet which crashed on the A27 close to the boundary of Shoreham airport in West Sussex on August 22, 2015. ‌ Tanya's ex-partner, Daniele Polito, 23, who is the father of their son Georgio, 13, was among those killed as he was driving along the A27. Ten years on, she says her son has been excluded from multiple schools because of anger issues. ‌ Hill has also reapplied for his pilot's licence twice - which Tanya says shows a "lack of remorse" - with the latest application refused in May 2025 by the High Court. Tanya, a full-time mum from West Sussex, said: "Georgio has a lot of trauma. His words were, 'My dad died for nothing'. For a child to say that it was really hard. "I think it's hard for anyone to be a single parent to be a completely alone parent - because Georgio's a boy, I don't know how to answer the questions he has sometimes as he grows up. I feel like I've taken the full force of him losing his dad. The last 10 years have been really hard." Daniele was travelling in a BMW with his work colleague, Matt Jones, when their car was hit by the plane. Tanya and Daniele were formerly engaged but hadn't been together in the three months leading up to the crash. Tanya didn't tell Georgio for more than two weeks about his dad's death as she didn't know how to. She added: "I was feeding the ducks with him when it happened, but I didn't find out Daniele had died until the following morning. When I told him I said, 'Daddy had been involved in an accident and he had to go up to the sky'. I had his grandma with me at the time and Georgio said he was going to get his dad from the sky. A year after the accident he was on a plane on holiday, and he said he didn't see his dad." ‌ In December 2022, a coroner ruled that the victims were unlawfully killed and described Hill's flying as "exceptionally bad". The recent Air India crash which left 270 people dead - including a number of people on the ground - has "triggered" Tanya and she is determined to get the case reopened. She said: "There should be justice for all the families. He applied for his pilot's license twice since and that shows no remorse - they've both been rejected." Tomorrow, on the 10-year anniversary, Tanya and Georgio will be paying their respects to Daniele in their own way. She said: "It doesn't feel like it's been 10 years at all, but we're going to go down to the bridge where the memorial is and pay our respects there. It's weird to think it's been 10 years and no justice, no closure - I can't believe it happened. Any future has been taken away, where would we be now?"

Peter Murrell still owed £60,000 by SNP despite former party chief executive claiming legal aid

Murrell, who faces a charge of embezzlement, loaned the SNP £107,620 in June 2021. The SNP still owes its former chief executive £60,000 and may never pay it back, the party's official accounts have revealed. ‌ Peter Murrell, the estranged husband of Nicola Sturgeon, loaned the Nationalists £107,620 in June 2021 when he was still serving as CEO. The party later repaid around £60,000 of that sum. ‌ But accounts published today state the remainder could be written-off in the future. "There is no formal loan agreement in place, no interest is charged on the outstanding balance, and no specific repayment terms have been agreed," the filing states. "The former executive chief executive has not formally requested repayment of the outstanding balance. ‌ "Due to the absence of agreed repayment terms and the lack of recent communication regarding settlement, there is uncertainty as to when, or if, this loan will be repaid to the former executive chief executive, and whether it may ultimately be waived or written off." The accounts also reveal the SNP is sitting £455,000 in the red after its expenditure in 2024 outstripped the party's earnings. "Redundancies and related restructuring contributed significantly to the deficit," the report noted. It comes as taxpayers are set to foot the bill for Murrell 's legal costs after he was charged with embezzlement. The Record previously revealed how solicitors acting for Sturgeon 's estranged husband had an application for legal aid approved earlier this year. Murrell, 60, was SNP CEO for over 20 years before he stood down from the post in 2023. He was arrested later that year as part of the Operation Branchform police probe into SNP finances, but released without charge. He was then charged in connection with embezzlement and appeared in court in March. Jackie Baillie, Scottish Labour deputy leader, said: "Eyebrows will be raised about the financial sustainability of the SNP when they have such a deep deficit. "The public will also ask why the party's former chief executive Peter Murrell is set to be given legal aid at the expense of the taxpayer when he has seemingly made no request to the SNP for the outstanding £60,000, he loaned them to be repaid – and that this could now be waived or written off. ‌ "Meanwhile, the infamous campervan is estimated to have significantly depreciated in value after sitting in a Police Scotland vehicle pound for over two years. "Just weeks after the publication of Nicola Sturgeon's memoir, many Scots will wonder whether the paperback version will have anything to say about the dire financial state the party now finds itself in."

US hitwoman who wore niqab in botched assassination jailed for 30 years

Aimee Betro, 45, was flown to the UK from Wisconsin in September 2019 by Mohammed Aslam, 59, and Mohammed Nabil Nazir, 31, who orchestrated the murder plot. The dad and son wanted to settle a 'vendetta' against Aslat Mahumad, who is part of a rival family in Birmingham, after they were beaten up at his clothing boutique a year earlier. Betro, described by police as 'fairly unexceptional' wore the niqab and waited outside Mr Mahumad's home on September 7 before approaching his son Sikander Ali. CCTV shows her raising her arm and pulling the trigger at point-blank range. But the gun jammed, and Mr Ali managed to flee. Betro then went to the family home and fired three shots inside the house, which was empty at the time. She flew back to the US days after the bungled assassination attempt and was later extradited to the UK. Betro was found guilty of conspiracy to murder, possessing a self-loading pistol with intent to cause fear of violence, and a charge of illegally importing ammunition. Betro denied any involvement in the failed hit, telling the court she flew to the UK to celebrate her birthday and go to a boat party. She also maintained that a woman described as having an American accent and being small and fat, who bought a BMW linked to the plot, was not her. Betro suggested it must have been 'another American woman' who sounded like her, used her phone, and had almost identical trainers on. The fact that she happened to be around the corner from the shooting minutes later was 'all just a terrible coincidence', she added. Betro, a childhood development and graphic design graduate, was described as 'fairly unexceptional' with no record of any criminal activity. Det Ch Insp Alastair Orencas said: 'On the face of it, a normal-looking individual [but] prepared to do an outrageous, audacious and persistent murder.' More Trending She met Nazir through a dating app and slept with him in King's Cross, London, on a visit to the UK between December 2018 and January 2019. It remains unclear how she became involved in the shooting plot but prosecutors have argued she played a 'leading role'. The court was told she was involved in another of Nazir's plots when she sent three parcels of gun parts and ammunition to the UK a month later. They were addressed to a man named Faris Quayum, whom Nazir was hoping to frame by tipping police off to the delivery.
