2 drivers shoot at each other on highway in Macomb County, police say; 2 injured
Police in Macomb County are investigating a shooting that closed down over one mile of eastbound Interstate 94 Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the drivers of a black Chevrolet Malibu and a silver vehicle were shooting at each other at 12:55 p.m. on I-94 near 10 Mile Road.
The driver of the Chevrolet then rear-ended a GMC Acadia, and the motorist of the silver vehicle continued driving east on the freeway. The drivers of the Chevrolet and GMC pulled onto the right shoulder, and one of the Chevrolet passengers carried a pistol up the embankment and threw it before returning to the Chevrolet, police say.
The pistol was recovered, and St Clair Shores Emergency Medical Services transported two people who were in the Chevrolet to the hospital for medical treatment. Officials say there were no other reported injuries.
Over a mile of the highway was shut down for most of Saturday as Michigan State Police investigated.
Lieutenant Mike Shaw said detectives are currently working to find the motive of the shooting and the relationship between the two vehicles.

Rockford man endangers teens while leading officers on near 100 mph chase: Deputies
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 19-year-old Deisom Wren, who was on pretrial release after allegedly leading officers on a 100-mile-per-hour chase on weapons charges. On May 11, around 11 p.m., officers saw a Chevrolet Malibu speeding at 90 mph on North Main Street in Rockford. The deputies ended his pursuit when he reached a speed of almost 100 mph. Authorities reported the driver evaded them after going through a construction zone. Later in the night, South Beloit Police pulled Wren over on Bunn Street. Three teens were in the vehicle during the stop. Officials found cannabis when they searched the car. Wren told deputies he lent the vehicle to a friend and was not the person leading them on a chase. The occupants of the vehicle all told officers that Wren was the only person driving the car that they knew of. Wren was taken into custody that night and released on pretrial the next day. On June 5, Rockford Police pulled the same Malibu over for improper lane usage. Wren was the driver, and deputies found a firearm in the car. Wren is charged with aggravated fleeing police, unlawful possession of cannabis, reckless driving, speeding 35 plus miles over the limit in a construction zone, child endangerment, possession of a firearm without a FOID, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and resisting an officer. 2 Phoenix-area men followed agents after ICE arrest, face charges, FBI says
The boyfriend of an undocumented immigrant was facing federal charges after he followed and revved his pickup engine at agents who had detained the woman in Chandler, according to a federal court filing. The woman's brother was also facing charges after he chased an agent in another vehicle, leading the agent to think they would be run off the road, according to a complaint written by an FBI agent and authorized by a federal prosecutor. The two men, Abran Villa Jr. and Jose Sarinana, were each facing a charge of assault on a federal officer after the June 1 incident, the complaint said. FBI personnel were assisting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents when they stopped a Nissan Titan pickup and arrested the passenger because of her immigration status, the complaint said. The woman had been under surveillance and "was allowed to hug and say goodbye to" Villa, her boyfriend, who was driving, the complaint said. As one FBI special agent left the scene, he noticed a GMC Sierra truck was following him. The truck stayed close and pulled beside the agent at one point, when the agent "feared his vehicle was going to be run off the road," the complaint said. When the agent hit the brakes and made an immediate right turn, the GMC cut across traffic to follow, the document said. Another agent who responded to help followed the GMC into a Burger King parking lot near Arizona Avenue and Ray Road. As that agent was leaving the parking lot, the Nissan driven by Villa pulled up to face the agent's vehicle head-on and block the exit, revving its engine, the complaint said. The Nissan peeled out and took off, allowing the agent to continue pursuing the GMC, according to the FBI account. Ultimately, the GMC stopped and, with firearms drawn, agents had the driver and passenger exit. The driver of the GMC, identified by the FBI as Sarinana, was the brother of the woman detained by immigration agents. "Within minutes" of stopping the GMC, the Nissan returned and pulled up to a group of FBI agents at the scene, the complaint said. The truck faced the agents "head on and started to rev the engine again," the complaint said. The FBI agents feared the vehicle would ram them, and after giving commands, four people got out of the pickup, according to the FBI account. Two were 14-year-old boys, the complaint said. Villa said in an interview that he notified everyone at his home that immigration officials had detained the woman, and he and others went to look for her to find out where she was taken, the complaint said. "He claimed revving the engine was just his foot slipping — both times," the complaint said. It also said Sarinana told agents in an interview he believed his sister had been kidnapped, though the passenger in the GMC recorded a video that included references to "ICE" or "feds." Attorneys for Sarinana and Villa could not be reached or did not respond to requests for comment late on June 5. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona, which prosecutes federal crimes, declined to comment on the case. According to documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the former NFL defensive end's girlfriend told police he physically assaulted her during a heated argument over alleged infidelity, per TMZ. The incident reportedly unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in Texas. Hardy's girlfriend claimed the two were returning home from the park with their children when tension began building. When Hardy asked what was wrong, she allegedly told him they would talk later — not wanting to argue in front of the kids. Once they got home, she confronted him about suspicious messages she had seen on his phone. She accused him of cheating while out of town. At that point, she said Hardy snapped. According to her statement, Hardy told her to get out of his face, then shoved her in the chest with both hands, knocking her onto the bed. She alleged he climbed on top of her and used one hand to press her neck down. She did not lose consciousness but said she struggled beneath him. Hardy, 36, had already left the home when officers arrived. Police said he fled in a white 2018 GMC Acadia but was later located and taken into custody at 2:29 p.m. local time. Online records show he was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member. As of Thursday morning, no bond had been set. This is not the first time Greg Hardy has faced troubling accusations. The former Pro Bowler's past includes a 2014 domestic violence case that effectively ended his NFL career. These new claims threaten to once again put his name in the spotlight — for all the wrong reasons.
