Police to investigate poster burning at student rally

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said the case will be probed under the Sedition Act and Penal Code and referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers once completed. He confirmed no arrests have been made but noted that many tourists witnessed the act, which caused public concern near the busy Gaya Street Sunday Market. The protest was held with police approval and aimed to demand government accountability, anti-corruption reforms, and solutions to campus infrastructure problems. Cops probe video showing alleged bullying of schoolgirl
A video lasting about two minutes went viral on social media, showing a student surrounded by a group of female students who hit and slapped her. (Envato Elements pic) PETALING JAYA : Police have launched an investigation into a bullying incident involving female students that allegedly took place in the restroom of a secondary school in Klang, after a video of the incident went viral on Facebook. Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said a report on the incident was made just before 1pm today. 'The cause of the incident is still under investigation,' he said in a statement. A video lasting about two minutes went viral on social media, showing a student surrounded by a group of female students who hit and slapped her. The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction. Vijaya urged those with information to contact investigating officer Izroy Kamarulzaman at 014-818 3519 to assist with the investigation.

US bombing of Iranian nuclear sites sparks worldwide condemnation

According to Anadolu Ajansi (AA), China strongly condemned the US for targeting Iranian nuclear sites safeguarded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry said the strikes 'seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter' and have intensified tensions in the Middle East. Beijing called for dialogue and restraint from all parties. Saudi Arabia voiced deep concern, describing the attack as a violation of Iran's sovereignty. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry urged all parties to pursue de-escalation and called on the international community to intensify efforts toward a political resolution. Oman said the strikes constituted a 'serious violation of international law and the UN Charter.' The Foreign Ministry stressed Iran's right to develop peaceful nuclear energy under international supervision and warned that continued escalation could widen the conflict. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said the attacks risk expanding tensions that threaten stability across the region. He called for restraint and serious negotiations, stressing Lebanon's unwillingness to bear the cost of further conflict. Government spokesman Basim al-Awadi warned that military solutions would only lead to destruction and instability. He stressed the need for de-escalation and highlighted the safety of Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on Iran to begin immediate talks with the US and Israel to avoid further bloodshed. He urged a diplomatic solution to prevent broader conflict.
