Chris Brown arrested in Manchester for assaulting a music producer in a nightclub
Chris Brown
was taken into police custody on Thursday in Manchester, England, for allegedly hitting music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle at a London nightclub back in 2023.
The arrest comes weeks before the singer's Breezy Bowl XX Tour.
Shedding light on the matter, a Met spokesman revealed, "A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. Brown reportedly took off to Manchester on a private jet on Wednesday. As the Met detectives learned about this, they also flew to Manchester to arrest him.
Back in October 2023, Diaw filed a lawsuit against Brown. He claimed that
Brown
"inflicted severe and lasting injuries" on him as he attacked him over the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 in February 2023 at the Tape London nightclub.
Diaw was taken to the hospital, and he even needed crutches to walk by the time he was discharged. The alleged attack took place when Brown was on the Ireland leg of his worldwide tour. The tour started in Dublin's 3Arena on February 11, 2023, eight days prior to the alleged incident.
However, this is not the first time Brown has gotten into
legal
trouble. Back in 2009, the singer pleaded guilty to brutally beating his then-girlfriend,
Rihanna
.
Not just that, in 2017, Rihanna was even granted a five-year restraining order against Brown.
Going by the reports, Brown allegedly became aggressive towards Rihanna for not giving back the money and gifts he had given her during the course of their relationship.

Patrick Mahomes' sweetest win started in high school — thanks to his mom Randi and a Valentine's Day card
How Patrick Mahomes' mom Randi helped him spark his love story with Brittany (Image credits: IG/X) Before Patrick Mahomes became a two-time Super Bowl champion and one of the most recognizable faces in the NFL , he was just a Texas high schooler trying to win over a girl who saw him only as a friend. That changed one Valentine's Day when Mahomes, with a little nudge from his mother Randi, made a small gesture that would alter the course of his life. The high school Valentine's surprise that turned friendship into first love In 2012, Mahomes was a sophomore at Whitehouse High School, known for his athletic talent but not for bold romantic moves. Brittany Matthews, a year older, considered him a friend — until one February lunch in the school cafeteria. Mahomes appeared with a single rose and a folded card, a gesture that caught her completely off guard. 'He did this little, cute thing for Valentine's Day one day at lunch in high school,' Brittany later recalled. 'He brought me a rose and a card.' Randi Mahomes ' quiet hand in her son's first romantic 'play' That moment wasn't entirely Patrick's idea. 'My mom had given me a card to give to somebody,' he admitted. 'I was like, I'm gonna give it to Brittany, I'm gonna surprise her at lunch.' That decision, simple yet heartfelt, cracked the 'friend zone' open. From that day, their conversations grew longer, their bond stronger — the cafeteria gift marking the unofficial start of a relationship that would endure far more than teenage hallways. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 11 Harry Potter Actors Who Grew Up Stunningly. Mangolpuri tree felling: NGT holds Delhi Police accountable, orders compensatory plantation
New Delhi: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Delhi Police to carry out and maintain compensatory plantation for the illegal felling of a peepal tree and unauthorised pruning of two neem trees in the Mangolpuri area. Police have also been instructed to ensure the survival of the saplings for at least five years. The order follows a complaint filed by a local resident, alleging tree damage during renovation work at the Mangolpuri police station complex, carried out through a private contractor. A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava had earlier, in March 2024, directed Delhi Forest Department to inspect the site. In its affidavit filed in March 2025, the department confirmed violations under the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act (DPTA), 1994. In its reply, Delhi Police asserted that the old police station complex in Mangolpuri was undergoing certain changes and thus remained vacant under the care of the caretaker. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These 11 Everyday Foods Might Be the Key to Knee Pain Relief Undo . The reply further stated that the work order for changes and repair of the broken tin shed on the premises was given to a contractor, and the labourers of the contractor pruned the trees obstructing the repair work of the tin shed without obtaining any permission. The reply also reveals that the police issued an explanation notice to the caretaker, who failed to prevent unauthorised pruning of branches of the trees. The tribunal noted that 25 saplings of peepal and pilkhan trees have since been planted as part of compensatory afforestation. In its order dated Aug 14, the NGT stated: "We are of the opinion that the requisite action under the DPTA has been taken, and the compensatory plantation has been carried out. Police officials are directed to ensure the survival of the planted saplings for a period of five years." Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Guj man staying illegally in UK on fake Portuguese passport deported to Mumbai
Mumbai: A man from Rajkot, Priyankrai Savalia (42), was deported to Mumbai International Airport from London on Aug 13, and handed over to the Sahar police for residing illegally in London since 2019. UK authorities discovered he had been using a Portuguese passport obtained with fake documents and a false name. Police revealed that despite being blacklisted in the UK in 2018, Savalia had returned to the country the same year after travelling to Spain. Savalia initially travelled to London in 2015 on a student visa but remained in the UK beyond the two-year visa validity. "Savalia was caught during the search operation and scanning of citizens by the London police. They deported him back in 2018 to Mumbai for overstay. Later, he came back using emergency certificate but was permanently blacklisted from the country.
