FC Barcelona Announces New Transfer For Next Season
FC Barcelona used its official website to announce a transfer for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
'FC Barcelona and CF Estrela da Amadora have reached an agreement for the loan of player Alan Godoy until June 30, 2026,' a statement on the matter read.
The club recalled how Godoy arrived at Barca in the winter transfer window last season and signed a contract until June 30, 2027 when his move from Eldense was finalised.
Godoy started his tenure in Catalonia 'with important participations' for the reserve team known as Barca Atletic and made a scoring debut for it amid starting the first six games in row he was available for.
A muscle injury then kept him out of action for seven games, but Godoy managed to return and score two goals in the last few games of the season.
Overall he netted three in nine appearances, and will now head to Portugal to Estrela da Amadora and try to gain formative experience with a club that has recently been promoted to the top flight amid the likes of Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon.
Kicking on in Portugal will be to Godoy's benefit whether it is attracting interest from a bigger club or impressing Barca across the border on the Iberian Peninsula.
Unfortunately, though he has plenty of time on the clock with a contract until 2027, he was unable to make the leap from Barca Atletic to Hansi Flick's senior team in the short time he was around the Joan Gamper CT.
A forward who can play as a left winger, there was on overbooking so to speak for the latter position on Flick's watch in 2024/2025.
With Lamine Yamal taking the opposite channel for himself, Raphinha was pushed on to the left flank and enjoyed his best season in La Liga and the Champions League with a litany of goals and assists.
Other options included Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, though the soon-to-be ex number 10 has now, like Godoy, been loaned out to AS Monaco.
FC Barcelona will continue its pursuit for a new left winger
After first choice Nico Williams turned his back on FC Barcelona and renewed with Athletic Club, the pursuit for a left winger continues. At the moment, it seems to be a two-horse race between Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, providing that Barca can raise the funds to pursue either man.

Sporting CP make Jota Silva enquiry to Nottingham Forest
Portuguese side Sporting CP have made an enquiry to Nottingham Forest over a potential move for winger Jota Silva. If a deal progresses, talks are expected to centre around a loan move for the 26-year-old, who joined Forest in a £5.9million transfer from Vitoria in August 2024. Jota made 31 Premier League appearances for Forest last season, although 26 of those were as a substitute. He scored three goals, including the final strike in the 7-0 win over Brighton in February. He continues to train with Nuno Espirito Santo's squad and he came off the bench in the 0-0 draw with Fiorentina at the City Ground on Tuesday. Jota had been keen to push for more of an opportunity in the Forest side in the coming campaign, but finds himself with serious competition for his place. Anthony Elanga departed for Newcastle in a £52million move last month, and fellow wide man Ramon Sosa, the Paraguay international, was allowed to join Palmeiras. But Forest acted swiftly to bolster their options with the addition of Dan Ndoye from Bologna in a £35million deal. Nuno is keen to be reunited with Adama Traore, the Fulham winger, whom he coached during his time as manager of Wolves, to add to a group of wingers at the City Ground that also includes former England man Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Athletic reported earlier on Wednesday that Forest have had a bid rejected for Ipswich Town's Omari Hutchinson. The proposal was worth £35million, with Ipswich demanding a higher price if a sale was to occur. Spot the pattern. Connect the terms Find the hidden link between sports terms Play today's puzzle

'A perfect spot for him' - Tony Meola endorses Tim Weah's reported move to Olympique Marseille, suggests USMNT player wanted out of Juventus
Meola says Weah pushed for a transfer Says positional inconsistency is motivation Marseille a competitive destination with familiar league WHAT HAPPENED With Tim Weah reportedly a transfer target for Olympique Marseille, former USMNT star Tony Meola endorsed the potential move away from Juventus, especially joining a team with Champions League aspirations. 'Marseille has spent some money over the last two years,' Meola said on the CBS Sports Golazo America podcast. 'This could be a fit... I'm interested to see where Roberto De Zerbi thinks he's going to play. Does he think he's going to play as a wing back because he plays in like a 3-4-3? Does he think he's going to play a little bit higher up the field when he does play with four. Is he a fullback? Is he a winger in that group? "So maybe and he plays on that right side like a right winger so you know... so it's a team that has spent some money and over the last couple years have said that they want to compete at the top of the table and be in Champions League." WHAT MEOLA SAID Meola noted that Weah appeared to be advocating for the move despite playing significant minutes at Juventus last season. 'It seems like he sort of now pushing for this move," Meola said. "There's a couple things that could happen. The messaging he got from Igor Tudor is not the messaging he wanted to hear. He didn't like the situation he was in last year, where he was every week we're just trying to figure out where the hell Timothy Weah was going to fit in and where he was going to play." Meola suggested that Weah was unhappy at Juventus, and wanted to make a move to what he considers a perfect destination. 'I feel like this is more Timothy Weah talking about he wants to move and all of this stuff - the rumors are that he is interested in moving and that he's basically spoken to the club about moving," he said. "I feel like it's coming more from him, which leads me to believe that he's just not happy with what's happening at Juve. It's just a massive club but I still go back to, it's a club where he had really good success last year and was on a great pathway until the initial injury albeit with a different manager at the time. "But it still looked like he was finally settling into a club - remember he won a Coppa Italia the year before... So he's got a nice little history at the club but it just seems like he wants out at Juve and this seems a perfect spot for him.' THE BIGGER PICTURE Weah signed for Juventus in the summer of 2023 from LOSC Lille, and has since made 78 appearances for the club, contributing to 14 goals across all competitions. WHAT'S NEXT? Weah is expected to sign with Olympique Marseille on loan with a €14 million obligation to buy.

Ipswich Town reject Nottingham Forest bid for Omari Hutchinson
Ipswich Town have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest to sign attacking midfielder Omari Hutchinson. The proposal was worth £35million and if a sale was to occur, Ipswich would demand a higher price for the former England youth international. Brentford also remain interested in the midfielder following an earlier approach in the window. Hutchinson came through Arsenal's youth academy before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2022. He made just two first-team appearances for Chelsea before joining Ipswich initially on loan in the summer of 2023, before the move was made permanent in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth up to £22.5million ($30.2m). Advertisement Hutchinson has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 82 games for Ipswich, scoring three times in the Premier League last season. Despite having previously made two appearances for Jamaica, he has made several appearances for England's national youth sides, playing in all six of the under-21's European Championship games in June. Hutchinson, being deployed on the left wing throughout the tournament, scored in the final as England beat Germany 3-2 after extra time. Spot the pattern.
