Severe storms rolled through the area Saturday evening, with a few warnings, including the Philadelphia area.
There were several reports of gusty winds and pea-to-marble-sized hail.
Flash flooding was a big problem in Germantown, with over 2" of rain, and reports of entire blocks under water. The flooding should subside by Sunday morning, but additional rain throughout the day could create more issues, so be very careful.
By Sunday, the severe threat will have ended, but there will still be a chance of rain.

The weather looks a little better than it did a few days ago. A sprinkle is possible in the morning, but a better chance of showers arrives later in the morning and afternoon.

It will be a mild run with temperatures in the low to mid-60s under cloudy skies with a south wind 10-15 mph and isolated gusts to 20 mph.
Since it is May 4...May the Fourth Be With You! (Nod to the Star Wars fans.)
Afternoon highs will be in the low 70s.
The week ahead will remain unsettled with a chance of showers and storms on Monday and Tuesday and again on Thursday.

Temperatures were expected to plummet to a chilly 4C in parts of the UK over the next few days. Recent sweltering highs of 33C will be a distant memory when a cold snap hits. The latest weather maps from WXCharts suggest temperatures will drop on Thursday, August 21. Heading into the evening, highs of 16C were expected across England and Wales, with the cool conditions set to linger for several days. The Met Office forecast for the end of August into the beginning of September stated: "Overall, unsettled conditions with showers or longer spells of rain are expected to be most prevalent. "Some heavy and thundery rain is possible at times with a risk of strong winds. Interspersed with this are likely to be some transient periods of drier and more settled weather." This weekend, the Met Office has predicted cloudy conditions for many. Saturday's forecast read: "Low cloud across central and eastern areas gradually breaking to sunny spells for the afternoon. "More prolonged sunshine elsewhere but with gusty winds developing across southwest England. Very warm in the sun, less so where cloud persists." Sunday was expected to be brighter with "plenty of sunshine for most". However due to "strong winds continuing in the southwest" it would be "very warm for many but fresher along eastern coasts".

Little Rock nonprofit moves forward with permanent shelter for homeless
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After years of searching, The Van — a nonprofit that supports people experiencing homelessness — is now under contract for a new building that will serve as a permanent emergency shelter. The announcement comes after two previous attempts fell through. The most recent search ended in July 2025, and the first in December 2024, when founder Aaron Reddin learned the property he was pursuing did not have legitimate owners. People donate over $50,000 overnight to The Van to help with homeless shelters in Central Arkansas Reddin said the need for shelter in Little Rock is urgent, with thousands of people living without a roof over their heads. 'Everything closes. Everything shuts down. There's nowhere to go,' Reddin said. 'This past year, we saw seven amputations from frostbite.' The shelter marks a major expansion from The Van's current mobile outreach model, which provides food, water, and hygiene products. The new facility will offer showers, bathrooms, cots and a place to eat. Reddin said the goal is to provide a safe space where people can come in 'no matter the weather' and take a break from the streets. 'It's going to be comfortable,' he said. 'It's not going to be this sterile, institutionalized place. I want people to come in and feel comfortable. Take a load off. Take a deep breath.' The chosen property met several requirements: it is located outside city limits for better access, has multiple entry points in case of traffic and includes a working sewer system. The shelter is expected to open in November. The Van has raised more than $350,000 toward its fundraising goal. A warm spell is embracing Tacoma, with high temperatures and sunshine expected into early next week before cooling off on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a minor heat risk on Saturday and a moderate heat risk Sunday through Tuesday in Tacoma, according to the weather service. As of early Saturday, it was unclear how quickly temperatures will cool Tuesday through the remainder of the week. There is an elevated fire risk Sunday and Monday, according to a Friday weather service report.
