Baldwin's 2-run single in 8th caps 6-run comeback as Braves rally past White Sox 11-10
Michael Harris II and Jurickson Profar each hit a two-run homer. Ozzie Albies went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and Matt Olson had four hits for the Braves, who trailed 10-4 in the seventh.
Raisel Iglesias pitched a perfect ninth for his 20th save. Harris made a sliding catch in center field for the final out.
Atlanta starter Bryce Elder gave up eight runs in 4 2/3 innings. Dylan Lee (2-3) worked a scoreless eighth for the win.
Baldwin's go-ahead hit dropped just in front of diving right fielder Mike Tauchman, who short-hopped the ball with his glove.
The Braves had the bases loaded and no outs in the eighth, but Harris bunted back to the pitcher, who retired Profar at home, and Marcell Ozuna fouled out. Baldwin then came through.
Chicago rookie Kyle Teel had a homer and four RBIs. Luis Robert Jr. drove in three runs and Miguel Vargas scored three times.
White Sox rookie Shane Smith went six innings, giving up four runs and seven hits — including two homers. Tyler Alexander (4-11) took the loss.
Robert's three-run double capped a five-run fifth for the White Sox. Teel added two more in the sixth with his fourth homer of the season to give Chicago a 10-4 lead.
The Braves responded with five runs to cut the margin to 10-9 in the seventh. Albies had a two-run single, and Ronald Acuña Jr., Baldwin and Nacho Alvarez Jr. also had RBIs.

Tiger Woods to lead group that could reshape the PGA Tour's competitive model
ATLANTA — Tiger Woods is a major player in golf again, this time without clubs. He was appointed Wednesday to chair a new committee charged with taking a fresh look at the competitive model for how the PGA Tour runs its tournaments. Article content Brian Rolapp, three weeks into his role as the tour's first CEO, announced the nine-member 'Future Competition Committee' and said it would have a clean sheet to consider changes that uphold traditions without being tied to them. Article content Article content 'This is about shaping the next era of the PGA Tour,' Woods said in a social media post. Article content Rolapp didn't have details on several issues he faces as he takes over for Commissioner Jay Monahan, including the future of a sport that has been splintered by Saudi money that created the rival LIV Golf League and lured away a number of top players. Article content The PGA Tour's negotiations with the Public Investment Fund have stalled, and Rolapp did not make that sound as if it were a top priority when asked about the fans' desire to see all the best players together more often. Article content 'I'm going to focus on what I can control,' Rolapp said. 'I would offer to you that the best collection of golfers in the world are on the PGA Tour. I think there's a bunch of metrics that demonstrate that, from rankings to viewership to whatever you want to pick. I'm going to lean into that and strengthen that. Article content 'I will also say that to the extent we can do anything that's going to further strengthen the PGA Tour, we'll do that,' he said. 'And I'm interested in exploring whatever strengthens the PGA Tour.' Rory McIlroy backs 'clean slate' season finale format change
MIAMI — Rory McIlroy is backing the format change that will see all 30 players tee off as equals as they battle for the FedEx Cup in the PGA Tour's Tour Championship starting on Thursday. Article content A $10-million winner's cheque will be on offer at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for the climax of the season-ending playoff series, with world number one Scottie Scheffler starting as the man to beat. Article content Article content Article content But unlike previous seasons, Scheffler will be starting on even par with the rest of the field following the decision to scrap the controversial 'starting strokes' format. Article content Last year, Scheffler started the Tour Championship with a two-shot advantage at 10 under to reflect his season-long dominance of the FedEx standings. Article content That system was eliminated for the 2025 tournament however following feedback from fans, with tour officials stating in May that a conventional 72-hole strokeplay tournament offered the 'most straightforward and engaging format'. Article content Masters champion McIlroy said Tuesday he backs the move to switch formats. Article content 'It has a different feel,' McIlroy said. 'Any one of the 30 has a chance to win the FedExCup this year, which is obviously a lot different than it's been in previous years.
