This year marks the debut of Hyderabad-based designer Aisha Rao at India Couture Week. Known for her quirky and maximalist take on Indian bridalwear, Rao runs an eponymous seven-year-old label and operates three stores in New Delhi. As for Manish Malhotra, he is returning to ICW after a hiatus of 4 years. The late designer Rohit Bal's label, now helmed by Fraze Tasnim, is also part of the line-up.Aisha Rao to make her ICW debut'When I first applied, I was told I was too young, but I've been very persistent about wanting to be part of this platform. This year, when the opportunity came along, we felt the timing was just right,' designer Aisha Rao tells India Today.

For her debut showcase, Rao is bringing her signature colourful and playful aesthetic, this time with a broader appeal. 'The word most often associated with us is 'different' or 'unique,' and that's what we're bringing to Indian bridalwear this season,' she says.'The collection is for anyone and everyone who wants to carry a little colour with confidence. It's not just for 23- or 24-year-olds anymore. It's meant for the entire family - brides, grooms, mothers, mothers-in-law, guests - everyone,' Rao adds.Sunil Sethi on breaking the 'bridal show' imageFashion Design Council of India Chairman Sunil Sethi too adds that contrary to popular perception, ICW is not just a bridal wear showcase.'That's exactly the perception we want to change. Just look at designers like Falguni Shane Peacock or Manish Malhotra. They're bringing occasion wear that goes beyond bridal. If you saw Falguni Shane's finale show last year, you'll know it was nothing like a typical bridal show. Designers do include bridal lines in their showcases, yes. But ICW is not only about bridal. If it were, we would have called it 'Bridal Week',' says Sethi.'We're about bridal, yes, but also about occasion wear, red carpet fashion and statement couture. Some of the pieces shown here are museum-worthy! That's how elevated the level has become, and I'm very proud of that,' he adds.advertisementThe FDCI Chairman also opened up about introducing new talent to the platform each year.'Every year, we try to introduce at least one new designer. Over the years, we've introduced names like Rahul Mishra, Gaurav Gupta and Amit Aggarwal. Just look at where they are today. They were once new entrants at ICW. Last year, we introduced Jayanti Reddy. So yes, we ensure that fresh voices are included because they bring new perspectives. For example, Amit Aggarwal's presentation last year was incredibly well-received - he brought a whole new dimension to the couture space,' Sethi told India Today. The line-up announcement gave away the mood for the ICW as models walked the stage showcasing creations from each participating designer. A turquoise lehenga replete with floral accents by Rahul Mishra looked like a perfect choice for modern brides and bridesmaids. Suneet Verma, who is celebrating 3 decades in fashion this year, brought his maximum-bling vision with a gown featuring 3D details.

Extravagance appeared to be the central theme for designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock as well. Jayanti Reddy, known for her ethereal lehengas and sarees, too put forth a peplum top with a sharara in mint green with heavy golden work at the press conference. While the complete schedule is yet to be announced.Hyundai India Couture Week will kickstart on July 23 and conclude on July 30.- EndsTrending Reel

Amitabh Bachchan And Rekha's Unseen Pic From Silsila Shoot Resurfaces; Reddit Reacts

Last Updated: A rare throwback photo of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha from Silsila's Kashmir shoot has gone viral, reigniting discussions about the film's bold casting. A rare, unseen photo of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha from the sets of Silsila has surfaced online and taken fans on a nostalgic ride. The image, believed to be clicked during the Kashmir schedule of the 1981 romantic drama, shows Amitabh sitting behind the wheel of a vintage car, wearing oversized sunglasses, a woollen coat, and a crisp shirt. Rekha, seated next to him, looks equally elegant in a knit sweater, her gaze direct yet soft, matching the mystique that has always surrounded her public persona. The viral image, shared on Reddit, instantly caught the attention of cinema lovers, not just for its vintage charm but also because it features the two stars during a time that continues to remain one of Bollywood's most talked-about chapters. Directed by Yash Chopra, Silsila brought together Amitabh Bachchan, his real-life wife Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha in a love triangle that mirrored what gossip columns had long speculated. In the film, Amitabh plays a writer named Amit, who marries Shobha (Jaya) under tragic circumstances but cannot forget his former lover Chandni (Rekha), leading to an emotional and moral dilemma. What made Silsila especially bold was not just its subject but its casting. Yash Chopra had revealed in a later interview with Shah Rukh Khan that casting Amitabh, Jaya, and Rekha together was 'one of the most challenging decisions" of his career. He added, 'It was one of the most interesting, one of the biggest, one of the most challenging casts in a film ever done in the history of Indian cinema." Reports at the time suggested that Amitabh had allegedly vowed not to work with Rekha again, making Silsila an unexpected reunion. For fans, the film blurred the lines between real and reel, leaving audiences captivated. Decades later, this rare photo has only added fuel to the enduring curiosity around the trio's off-screen dynamics. While neither Amitabh nor Rekha ever publicly confirmed any romantic involvement, the legacy of Silsila and their chemistry on-screen continue to intrigue generations. This thriller film, made on budget of 16 crores, became blockbuster, earned 400 crores, climax will send chills down your spine, movie is…, lead actor is…

A film released with little noise took the box office by storm and became one of the most talked-about cinematic experiences of its year. What began as a rooted tale from the heart of India quickly turned into a global sensation. With intense drama, powerful visuals, and a climax that left audiences stunned, this film drew crowds from across the country — not just for its story, but for the emotion it stirred deep within. Which movie is this? The film we are talking about is Kantara: The Legend (2022), a Kannada-language action-thriller written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also plays the lead role. Set in a coastal village in Karnataka, the story revolves around the conflict between man and nature, tradition and modern greed. The narrative beautifully blends local folklore, rituals, and the age-old tradition of Bhoota Kola, spiritual performance worshipped in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts of Karnataka. Rishab Shetty's character, rebellious young man caught between personal turmoil and societal injustice, becomes the heart of the film, especially as the story intensifies toward a jaw-dropping climax that has been called one of the most legendary in recent Indian cinema. How was the box office reception? The film also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar in crucial roles. Each actor delivers grounded performances that add authenticity and emotional weight to the story. The cinematography and background score elevate the visual and spiritual intensity of the film, drawing audiences into a world that feels both mystical and real. Kantara was made on a modest budget of around Rs 16 crore, but it went on to earn over Rs 400 crore globally, becoming one of the biggest success stories in Indian cinema. What started as a regional release turned into a nationwide phenomenon, thanks to glowing word-of-mouth, critical acclaim, and a deeply resonant storyline that connected with people across languages and cultures. The film was later dubbed in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, making it accessible to an even wider audience. Viewers appreciated the rooted storytelling, strong emotional core, and especially the unforgettable climax sequence that left many in awe. On which platform Kantara: The legend is streaming? Kantara: The Legend is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, where it continues to gain new fans even after its theatrical success. If you're looking for a film that goes beyond entertainment and touches something spiritual, raw, and powerful, this one deserves a spot on your watchlist.
