Nightmarish underground bunker where five Alabama men and two women 'committed evil acts against children and animals'

Daily Mail24-07-2025
Four Alabama men were arrested for raping children inside a nightmarish underground bunker, as a total of seven were arrested for heinous acts.
William Chase McElroy, 21; Dalton Terrell, 21; Timothy St. John, 23; and Ricky Terrell, 44, are facing rape charges, among others, for allegedly sexually abusing small children inside a dirty underground bunker.
Their victims, including some of their own children, were between the ages of three and 15, and the abuse began in 2022, according to ABC 33/40 News.
At least two of the victims were found performing sexual acts on each other, according to AL.com.
Three others - Andres Trejo-Velazquez, 29; Rebecca Brewer, 29; and Sarah Louis Terrell, 41 - were also arrested in connection to the crimes.
The team of seven used an underground bunker to hide their crimes and the inside of it was straight out of a nightmare.
A lone stained mattress with no sheets or blankets was seen stuffed in a corner of the barren and dirty room. A metal chair was placed beside the bed, alongside a standing fan.
The only other items in the room were another chair, a small set of drawers with an old-looking convection oven with a built-in coffee spot on top and uncovered lightbulbs.
The outside of the bunker, which was located near a family member of McElroy, didn't look any better in repair with a shabby roof, stained siding, and a desolate appearance.
The suspects would allegedly arrange and pay for the children and abuse them inside the storm bunker.
The group also allegedly used a shock collar on the children's genitals as a form of punishment and for sexual pleasure, court documents said.
'I've been in law enforcement for 33 years and this is absolutely the most horrible thing I've ever seen when it comes to the victimization of children,' Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade said at a press conference on Wednesday.
'I know God's forgiveness is boundless, but if there is a limit, we've reached it.'
Police began investigating the group in early February after a tip from the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) 'following concerns regarding the sexual abuse of children in an underground bunker located in Brent.'
After they were discovered, the children allegedly told investigators that McElroy had abused them, taught them sexual acts and what they did to each other, Assistant District Attorney Bryan Jones said.
The children were subjected vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, and oral sex.
'He would tie one child to the bed, one child to a chair and one to one of the support poles,' Jones said of Velazquez-Trejo, whose citizenship is now being investigated.
Velazquez-Trejo has also been accused of using a white powder in the children's drinks to drug them. He also allegedly sold nude images of the children.
'As bad as it sounds with [Velazquez-Trejo] drugging them, it may be a blessing in disguise because they don't remember a lot of things,' Jones said.
'I'm hopeful though that they won't have near the trauma they would have had if they had not been drugged.'
The group also sold the children for up to $1,000 a night to abusers. Dalton paid at least two adults to use the children, who are now three, six, eight, and 10.
And at least one of the seven has been connected to a Mexican gang that uses sex trafficking as its main source of income.
St. John has also been accused of having sex with a dog.
All the children are now in the custody of DHR.
'They're getting the medical help they need, the emotional, psychological help we can best provide them. For the younger kids, I'm hoping some of this is a blurry memory,' Wade said.
'You can't heal from this, but you can move on as best you can.'
McElroy was charged with rape, sodomy, and human trafficking.
Dalton was charged with rape, sodomy, human trafficking, and kidnapping.
St. John was charged rape, sodomy, human trafficking, kidnapping, bestiality, and cruelty to animals.
Trejo-Velazquez was charged with human trafficking.
Brewer was charged with human trafficking, kidnapping, and sexual torture.
Ricky was charged with rape.
Sarah was charged with sexual torture and sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.
They are expected back in court for their arraignment in August.

Brooklyn Nets star Michael Porter Jr. says future wife 'has to be able to cook or something'

In economic terms, Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. simply prioritizes non-market labor over earnings potential. Or, as the 27-year-old put it on the ' One Night with Steiny ' podcast, he'd rather have a domestic wife that brings 'something to the table.' 'I don't mind providing for you, I don't mind doing that,' said Porter, who has $115 million in career earnings. 'You can stay at the crib, you can do your thing. You gotta bring something to the table. 'Positivity, you gotta help me mentally, you gotta be able to cook or something,' he continued. 'You gotta bring something to the table… look, what value are you bringing to my life? That's the way I look at it now.' Pointing to his own mother, who homeschooled Porter and his seven siblings, the former NBA champion doubled down on his statement. 'In a wifey, I don't mind if she's a stay-at-home mom,' he said. 'My mom was a stay-at-home mom but she raised all eight of us kids, she homeschooled us, she cooked for us when my dad was out working, she raised us. 'You gotta be able to do something. These girls nowadays it's like they just want to live like queens and do absolutely nothing.' Porter's love life isn't exactly an open book. As a teenager he dated actress Madison Petit in 2016 and 2017 as well as influencer Kelsey Calemine sometime after that, according to multiple reports. The former Missouri star was traded along with a future first-round pick from the Denver Nuggets to the Nets last month, Porter had played six seasons with the Nuggets, winning an NBA title in 2022-23. Porter has two years and $79 million remaining on his current deal. His family has faced several recent controversies. In April of 2024, for instance, his younger brother Cuban was sentenced to six years in prison for killing a woman while driving drunk. Another brother, Jevon, was also arrested on suspicion of DWI that same month. Porter's younger brother Jontay also reached the NBA, only to be given a lifetime suspension by the league over gambling allegations. 'Obviously, my brother went through his situation,' Porter said on the podcast before referencing some other gambling scandals around the league. 'Malik Beasley's going through a situation right now. Terry Rozier was in some hot water.

Nebraska man missing after being dropped off at Colorado national park by rideshare

A 23-year-old man from Nebraska is missing in Colorado 's Rocky Mountain National Park and a search for him is underway. Blake Kieckhafer, 23, of Omaha, was reported missing to National Park Service rangers by his family on August 11, according to the department. "He was last seen in the Upper Beaver Meadows area of Rocky Mountain National Park on Thursday, August 7 around 5:20 p.m. when he was dropped off by a ride share service," the NPS said in a news release. Upper Beaver Meadows Road is approximately a mile west of the Beaver Meadows park entrance near Highway 36 in the eastern portion of the park, according to the NPS. Kieckhafer was last seen dressed in a dark-colored t-shirt and pants and wearing a dark-colored baseball cap without a logo. He was reportedly carrying a small, maroon daypack with him. He is believed to be approximately 180 pounds and 5'11 with buzzed blonde hair, a mustache, and blue-green eyes. 'If you have information that could help investigators or if you have seen Blake Kieckhafer, please contact us,' the NPS said. 'You don't have to tell us who you are, but please tell us what you know.' Anyone with information on Kieckhafer's whereabouts can contact the NPS Investigative Service Branch on Facebook, by visiting the NPS's website, or by calling 888-653-0009. Despite the expansive and rugged terrain, Rocky Mountain National Park has had very few instances of people disappearing within its borders, according to the Colorado Sun. In 2023, Chad Pallansch, 48, was doing a 28-mile run through the park when he disappeared. Though a search was conducted, it was called off after two weeks. In 2019, another man, James Pruitt, went missing in the park. The 70-year-old was visiting from Tennessee when a storm hit the area where he was hiking. A search was conducted but was called off after six days.
