Criminal Allegations Follow the Tate Brothers to Florida

Morocco World06-03-2025

Rabat – Florida has launched a criminal investigation into media personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate, mere days after their arrival to the country, as Florida attorney general, James Uthmeier, warned that he is prepared to use the full force of the law to examine the allegations previously put forward against the Tates.
Uthmeier condemned the brothers for publicly boasting about their actions that allegedly comprise soliciting, trafficking and preying on women around the world. 'Many of the victims are coming forward, some of them minors. People can spin or defend however they want, but in Florida, this type of behaviour is viewed as atrocious. We're not going to accept it,' the attorney general stated on Tuesday, March 4.
The brothers arrived on United States soil from Romania on Thursday, March 27, after the travel ban that has been placed against them was lifted, according to their spokesperson and Romanian prosecutors. Namely, Romania's anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, said that they have approved to lift travel restrictions on the Tates without divulging the identity of the person or entity that made the request.
Holders of British-American citizenships, were first arrested in December 2022 along with two other individuals in Romania on charges of rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group. The DIICOT updated the charges against the brothers later in 2023 from 'human trafficking' to 'human trafficking in continued form' upon identifying seven victims.
According to DIICOT, the brothers remain under judicial supervision despite being allowed to leave Romania, and could still be summoned by judicial authorities that they would have to respond in order to avoid legal punishment with 'higher custodial measure.'
Tates' spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, declared that a Bucharest court also ruled in favor of the brother's January 6 appeal to return some of the seized assets from their arrest, including six luxury cars, land, properties, company shares as well as all previously frozen bank accounts.
Rumors of Trump's involvement in the release of the controversial influencers have been swarming around since February 17, when The Financial Times reported that the US president's envoys have raised the case with Romania's foreign minister Emil Hurezeanu at a security conference in Munich, earlier in the same month.
The Tate brothers originally moved from the United Kingdom, where they're also facing criminal charges of the same nature, to Romania in 2017 due to their belief that they're less likely to face rape charges in a country where Andrew Tate claims 'corruption is accessible for everybody,' and the police ask women reporting rapes for more concrete evidence and even CCTV proof.
Andrew's questionable religious affiliation
The Tates initially came to fame through Andrew's boxing career and his participation in British reality TV Big Brother, but he rose in popularity among young men by spreading outrageous misogynist rhetoric online, sometimes under the guise of humour.
Andrew also found an unforeseen audience among young Muslim men, especially after he reportedly converted to Islam. This is an act that some see as an attempt to polish his tarnished reputation and find new prospects after the Western audiences have seemingly had enough of him.
In late July 2024 three young girls were killed in a knife attack at a dance studio in Southport, Merseyside. Local authorities later revealed that the suspect was a 17 year-old boy from Cardiff, but didn't reveal his identity. Far-right groups jumped on the opportunity to villainize Muslims – specifically immigrants – which ultimately led to widespread pogroms that targeted minorities across the country.
Andrew Tate, who is half black, quickly jumped in defense of conservative values in the UK, even incredulously comparing the alt-right rioters to Palestinians facing genocide in Gaza. 'The soul of the Western man is so broken that when the invaders slaughter your daughters, you do absolutely f****** nothing,' he said.

Freedom Flotilla Sets Sails for Gaza to Protest Israel's Systematic Genocide, Famine

A vessel operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) has set sail for Gaza in a new attempt to break Israel's deadly siege, which has deliberately starved the Palestinian population amid the unfolding genocide. The sailing boat, 'Madleen', departed on Sunday from the port of Catania, Sicily, carrying humanitarian aid for the devastated people of Gaza. On board are 12 international activists, including climate justice leader Greta Thunberg, Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham, European Parliament member Rima Hassan, and Palestinian-American human rights attorney Huwaida Arraf. 'We are doing this because, no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying,' said an emotional Thunberg. 'Because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity. And no matter how dangerous this mission is, it's not even close to the danger of the world's silence in the face of a livestreamed genocide.' This latest mission comes just one month after another FFC vessel, 'Conscience', was attacked by two drones in international waters near Malta. The FFC accused Israel of the assault, which damaged the vessel and forced the mission to be aborted. Founded in 2010, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has spent the past 15 years attempting to challenge the blockade on Gaza — long before the events of October 7. Israel has imposed a brutal naval blockade on the enclave since 2007, choking off movement, aid, and basic survival for over two million Palestinians. All attempts have been intercepted while others were prevented from even leaving port. Supporters and organizers of the coalition say that the voyage itself is both a forward and symbolic act of defiance that raises awareness for the Palestinian cause, and more practically is an attempt to bring vital aid to Gaza's shores. One of the most notorious examples occurred in May 2010, when Israeli commandos stormed the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara in international waters, killing ten Turkish activists. Israel framed these murders as 'self defense' claiming that they opened fire to protect themselves from the activists on board. In response to a peaceful mission that seeks to deliver aid to a population under siege and facing systematically engineered famine, US senior Senator Lindsey Graham, reacted with a social media post stating, 'Hope Greta and her friends can swim!'— showcasing the moral decay of Israel and its backers. The mission also comes amid the ongoing failure of the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's (GHF) to safely and effectively deliver aid to Gaza's starving population. Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have repeatedly opened fire on Palestinians at distribution points — described by many as death traps reminiscent of Nazi concentration camps. Major humanitarian organizations, including the UN and Save the Children, have refused to engage with GHF, citing its lack of neutrality, political entanglement, and unsafe aid distribution methods. Palestinian activists are even warning those on the ground to avoid them in fear that they are being used as bait and target points by the IOF. The Madleen is expected to reach Gaza in seven days, barring obstruction. Veteran flotilla activist Michael Coleman, who sailed in a 2011 mission, emphasized that success is not solely defined by reaching the shore as the mission also raises awareness of the situation in Gaza. 'We'll sail until Palestine is free,' Coleman declared. The voyage is both a defiant act of solidarity and a challenge to a world order that has, through inaction, permitted one of the most egregious crimes of the 21st century to unfold in real time.

Two Jamaican tourists killed in Agadir car crash, driver detained

Two Jamaican tourists died on Sunday from severe injuries sustained in a traffic accident at the intersection of Al-Muqawama and 2 Mars Streets in Agadir. They passed away after being transferred to the Hassan II Regional Hospital Center. According to consistent reports, the accident occurred when the driver of a foreign-registered light vehicle lost control of the car, which then crashed into a tree. The vehicle was carrying six passengers, including two Moroccan citizens. The driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Three other people—two tourists and one Moroccan—were also injured, with varying degrees of severity. They were taken to a private clinic, where two of them were placed in intensive care. The Agadir Security Directorate's traffic accident division responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Meanwhile, the public prosecutor ordered the driver—a British national of Pakistani origin—to be placed in judicial custody. Authorities have also coordinated with the Jamaican Embassy in Morocco to arrange the repatriation of the victims' bodies.

EasyJet flight to Marrakech diverted after British passengers cause chaos

An easyJet flight from London Gatwick to Marrakech was forced to divert to Faro, Portugal, last week after a group of British passengers caused a major disturbance onboard, British media reported. The six men, reportedly on a bachelor party, were removed by police after disruptive behaviour, including «vaping in their seats, drinking heavily, and abusing cabin crew». Eyewitnesses described the scene as tense, with crew warning the group several times before the captain decided to land. Eight Portuguese officers met the plane, escorting the unruly passengers off the aircraft. An easyJet spokesperson confirmed the diversion, stating that the crew acted swiftly to «ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers was not compromised at any time». The flight later continued its journey to Morocco.
