Manchester United fans' group postpones protest against owners
The 1958 has overseen numerous demonstrations in recent years, principally aimed at unpopular majority shareholders the Glazers, but frustration has now spread to Ratcliffe.

The billionaire British businessman, who owns a 28.94 per cent stake in United, has instigated wide – often unpopular – changes since taking over day-to-day operational control from the Glazers in February 2024.
'Jim Ratcliffe chose to get into bed with the Glazers and, in our opinion, is helping keep them in charge,' said a group representative, who added Ratcliffe was 'no saviour' and 'like a (red) devil in disguise,' last week.
However, after conducting a survey, the group has acknowledged opinion is split and the time is not right for a protest.
A statement read: 'With a fanbase as diverse and passionate as ours, finding the right balance isn't always easy. We've had to consider momentum, timing, fan appetite, broader consequences of protest activity whilst assessing how current and future decisions may impact us as fans.
'Given the current sentiment within the fanbase and particularly in light of these recent survey results, it's clear there is no unified view on the direction of the club under Ratcliffe.
'That split is real, and we believe it would be irresponsible to risk creating a situation that could result in any 'red on red' conflict inside or outside the stadium.'
The group say almost 63 per cent of the near 26,000 respondents to their survey said Ratcliffe and his Ineos company should be held to account for their decisions so far by means of a protest. However, 68 per cent also believed they should be given more time.

The WBC wrote on its official website: "The Clean Boxing Program has announced that all doping tests for both fighters have come back negative. "The second fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois ended in a stunning fashion at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Ukrainian champion delivered a powerful knockout against the British fighter in front of his home crowd, allowing Usyk to retain the heavyweight belts and reclaim the title that Dubois had held. "VADA, the independent agency that conducts the anti-doping tests for the Clean Boxing Program, reported the conclusion of the process, solidifying the victory and legacy of the undisputed Ukrainian champion. The 'Clean Boxing Program' was implemented in 2016 to conduct doping tests in the WBC. The WBC has an agreement with VADA, the association responsible for sample collection, chain of custody, and laboratory analysis." The heavyweight king turned over as a professional with Krassyuk's K2 Promotions in 2013 after winning gold at the London Olympics. When asked why the decision was made to part ways with Usyk during the training camp, Krassyuk explained to World Boxing News: 'I felt the momentum. That was the right time to go. Police swarm luxury estate with JD Vance reportedly making trip to Scotland
The US Vice President is said to be coming to Scotland on holiday with his family, having spent time in the Cotswolds already these last few days. Police officers were seen swarming a luxury country mansion today - ahead of a reported holiday by US Vice President JD Vance and his family. Donald Trump's deputy is in the UK with loved ones for their summer break and are said to be heading north of the border to the Carnell Estates in Crossroads, East Ayrshire. The "historic and luxurious" estate - which costs over £3,000 per night and has a 9.8 out of 10 rating on - is known for its private hospitality. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and family stayed at the retreat in 2011, when they were in Scotland as the Fight Club star was filming World War Z in Glasgow. The Hollywood A-listers - who have since separated - stayed in the 16th century manor at Carnell, commuting to and from the estate and Glasgow by train. It's understood JD Vance and family will arrive at Prestwick Airport on Wednesday, August 13, having spent time in the Cotswolds during their trip to the UK. The Carnell Estates, which are owned by Michael Findlay and are run by him and his partner Adrienne Eastwood, have been in his family's hands since the 1300s. Described as "very much as a private house rather than an hotel", the 14th century tower and "historic and luxurious" mansion house is often used by corporate think tanks, golfers and shooting groups as well as being a wedding venue. Vance met Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Kent, and the pair engaged in carp fishing. A trip to Scotland would come just weeks after President Trump spent five days in Scotland. Police Scotland said previously officers were planning for a visit from the US Vice President during his holiday in the UK. The Daily Record has contacted the force over Tuesday's police presence at the estates.
