'New Heights' Address Taylor Swift Podcast 'Glitch'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. New Heights has spoken out following a "glitch" the podcast encountered during Taylor Swift's episode. The show—which is co-hosted by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce—released its highly anticipated episode with the pop star on Wednesday but experienced technical difficulties on YouTube. Newsweek reached out to New Heights' YouTube channel for comment on Thursday via email outside regular working hours. Why It Matters Taylor Swift is the world's richest female musician, according to Forbes, with a net worth of $1.6 billion as of August 14. Her wildly popular Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024, was the highest-grossing concert tour in history. Last year, the Kelce brothers reportedly inked a $100 million podcast deal with Amazon-owned podcast streamer, Wondery. YouTube What To Know On Wednesday, Swift quite literally broke the internet when her New Heights interview was released. The podcast dropped at 7 p.m. ET, and at 8:48 p.m. ET, New Heights' official X account posted an update to viewers tuning in on YouTube: "We hit a glitch but will be back shortly!!!" In a follow-up message minutes later, they added: "Shoutout all the 92%ers and swifties for actually helping us break the internet." The nickname "92%ers" refers to an NFL play and New Heights' fan base. "Swifties," meanwhile, is the affectionate term given to fans of the Cruel Summer singer. Shoutout all the 92%ers and swifties for actually helping us break the internet — New Heights (@newheightshow) August 14, 2025 New Heights later said: "WE ARE BACK!!!!" and thanked YouTube for their support: "Shoutout to the amazing team at @YouTube for helping get this fixed!!!" they posted in a separate note. At the time of publication, over 8.2 million people watched the episode on YouTube. Prior to the podcast's full release, Swift's appearance generated a lot of buzz online. In a teaser clip posted to social media on Tuesday, the 14-time Grammy Award winner revealed her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The news came just months after she bought back the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums: Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation. "So I wanted to show you something," she said, before pulling the blurred album out of a mint green and orange briefcase. "This is my brand new album The Life of a Showgirl." As Jason Kelce screamed, Travis Kelce—who has been dating Swift since 2023—said, "TS 12!" meaning her 12th studio album. What People Are Saying In the comments underneath New Heights' posts on X, fans praised the quick fix. X user @morganameridius said: "Thank y'all for your hard work!!!" @blockxs wrote: "Thanks, YouTube heroes." @tayvisjunkie shared: "YES THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE." @30sec2tam added: "A BIG thank you!!!" @catedunlap chimed in: "thanks for the fix cause there was some great content in those last minutes that blacked out!" What Happens Next The Life of a Showgirl will be released on October 3. The Chiefs' preseason is currently underway. The team takes on the Seattle Seahawks on Friday at Lumen Field in Washington. Their first regular season game is scheduled for September 5.

Is Taylor Swift Teasing Her Next Era? All the Reasons Swifties Think Something Big Is Coming
Taylor Swift has caught the attention of the most elite investigative team the world has ever seen: The Swifties. The singer sent fans into overdrive on Monday after a mysterious countdown to Aug. 12 at 12:12 a.m. ET popped up on Swift's website. The ticker arrived after several social media posts appeared to point to Swift teasing her next era. Seemingly back to her masterminding and easter egg-dropping ways, both Taylor Nation and the New Heights podcast page shared similar cryptic posts that fans think hint at an upcoming announcement. Taylor Nation, an official branch of the pop superstar's marketing team, posted a series of photos from the Eras Tour where Swift is perhaps not-so-coincidentally wearing orange in every shot. And to be even more specific, the carousel included 12 photos — leading fans to believe it's a nod to the singer's next album, which would be her 12th release. But it was the caption that really sent Swifties spiraling: 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era… ,' Taylor Nation wrote. Of course, this is a callback to The Eras Tour book, where Swift signed off on her personal intro with that exact phrase, hinting at her next move. More from Rolling Stone Taylor Swift Curates Spotify Playlist Ahead of New LP 'The Life of a Showgirl' Taylor Swift Announces New Album 'The Life of a Showgirl' Taylor Swift Announced as Special Guest on Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' Podcast After Teasers At the same exact time Monday morning, in what would ostensibly be another corner of the internet, Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast teased their upcoming guest on their social media accounts. Swifties were quick to spot that the blacked out guest looked like a shadow of the singer. Additionally, eagle-eyed fans took note of the orange background, which matched the orange pictures Taylor Nation posted (and isn't the usual yellow background the New Heights podcast uses for thumbnails). In the teaser photo, the football stars both seem to be sporting Swift's merchandise — and just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line for Swiftie's TS12 theories. In May, Swift rocked the music industry with an announcement that was not about new music, but rather that she had finally gained back the master recordings to her first six albums. The singer shared the news in a letter on her website. 'I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but never owned until now,' she wrote. Swift didn't end off the celebratory news with any cryptic message, but some fans noted that one word had 12 additional letters and was a nod to her 12th recording. Of course, in typical Swift fashion, this could all amount to nothing — but that's not nearly as fun as believing that this week could bring some major news to the Swiftie world. Even if there is an announcement, it still might not even be an album. It could literally be anything…or nothing! Either way, with Swift's newfound freedom, the groundwork has been laid for her next move, and possibly, a new era.
