D.L. Hughley Says Former Donald Trump Supporters Don't Deserve Forgiveness

Yahoo5 days ago
Die-hard MAGA fans who've jumped ship on President Donald Trump should reap what they sowed -- no forgiveness, says D.L. Hughley.
The comedian joined us Tuesday on "TMZ Live," saying the only reason some folks turn anti-Trump is because he caused something bad to happen to them or someone close -- not because bad things have been happening to others all along during his 2 times in office ... which, in his book, makes these former Trumpers selfish.
D.L. pops off in our video, brushing off Charles' question about forgiveness in politics and saying the whole Republican game now is built on loyalty -- and they ride or die with it.
Catch our full video -- D.L. lays out the three moments Trump supporters could've jumped ship but didn't, blasting them for sticking with their guy.
The topic didn't come out of nowhere -- this week, Jimmy Kimmel said Trump's second term is way worse than he expected, and while he had no beef with former supporters, he'd snagged his Italian citizenship just in case.

Top Armed Services Democrat calls Trump-Putin summit ‘very disappointing'

Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, said he was very disappointed by the historic summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. In an interview on NewsNation's 'The Hill Sunday,' Smith criticized the U.S. president for appearing to emerge from his meeting more aligned with Putin in pushing for an end to the war in Ukraine without first agreeing to a ceasefire. 'The summit in Alaska was very disappointing,' Smith said in the interview. 'We took the demand for a ceasefire off the table in exchange for nothing.' Smith also criticized Trump's 'deference' to the Russian leader, contrasting that approach with the antagonism on display during the explosive Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in February. 'The deference that President Trump showed to Putin—never once just stating the basic notion that Ukraine has a right to exist as a sovereign, democratic country and that the invasion was illegal, unlawful,' Smith said. 'And you contrast that with the way President Trump and Vice President Vance treated Zelensky when he was in the West Wing back in February — it sends the wrong signal if we're trying to force Putin to the table and get a negotiated end to this war,' he continued. Smith said it 'makes sense' for Trump to be trying to get Putin and Zelensky in a room together, saying, 'I applaud that effort, but you have to understand what Putin wants out of this.' 'Putin wants all of Ukraine, and he's just trying to play President Trump and buy time to get in a better position to do that,' he continued. 'That's the calculation of Putin that has to be changed.'

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Concept Art Shows Off Deleted Super-Apes Scene and More of Reed's Stretchy Powers — GeekTyrant

Some new concept art from Marvel artist Wesley Burt just dropped, and it gives us an even clearer look at the wild deleted Fantastic Four: First Steps scene featuring Red Ghost and his Super-Apes. The image shows Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards in the middle of a brawl with three of the Super-Apes. Igor, the shape-shifting baboon, is chomping down on Reed's rubbery face. Peotor, the orangutan with magnetic powers, is clinging to his arm, and Reed is tangled up with Miklho, the most well-known of the bunch. Fans got a quick glimpse of Peotor during the movie, but this concept art makes it painfully obvious how much more we missed out on. Originally, the full scene included John Malkovich as Red Ghost, but it ended up on the cutting room floor. According to director Matt Shakman, the decision to remove the sequence was 'heartbreaking,' but necessary. He explained, 'We had so many characters to introduce this whole world, this whole other universe, and it just became too much backstory.' In the final cut, Red Ghost and the Super-Apes only get a quick name drop as part of the Fantastic Four's past victories. With artwork this cool, fans are definitely hoping that Marvel drops the full deleted scene soon.
