Rishabh Pant and Ben Stokes engaged in banter after Pant smacked a boundary off Stokes.
India's Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant and England skipper Ben Stokes were seen exchanging a few words after the former smacked a boundary off Stokes' bowling minutes after coming into the crease, leaving the England captain in splits and making him engage in some banter.
On just his second delivery, Pant danced down the track and lofted Stokes straight over his head for a four, his first of the innings and a clear statement of intent.

In his next over, Stokes attempted to outfox Pant with a slower yorker at 100kph. The plan almost worked, with the latter just managing to bring his bat down in time to avoid being trapped LBW.
Though he started with characteristic flamboyance, Pant soon settled into a more restrained knock.
Pant had come under criticism for his approach during India's 1-3 Border-Gavaskar Trophy loss, where he managed just one half-century across ten innings.
Jaiswal and Gill were as different as chalk and cheese, but both of them found immense success with their respective methods during an unbroken 123-run partnership for the third wicket.
Jaiswal brought up his fifth century in Tests off 144 deliveries and Gill his eighth fifty off 56 balls in his first outing as India Test skipper, underlining the different route they travelled on the day.
England might see this innings as an ominous sign from Jaiswal that he might just replicate that 712-run series against them in India in 2024.
It was not a typical Jaiswal innings where he flayed the bowlers around, but he showed admirable self-restraint, outside the off-stump.

Leeds [UK] June 21 (ANI): India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal expressed his admiration for newly-appointed Test captain Shubman Gill following their crucial 129-run partnership on Day 1 of the first Test against England at Headingley. Jaiswal, who smashed a fluent 101 off 159 balls, lauded Gill's calmness and composure at the crease, describing their time together in the middle as 'amazing.' Speaking at the post-day press conference, the 23-year-old left-hander said, 'We have spoken a lot in the middle and we were just trying to make sure that we play session by session and try as many (runs) as we can get. Especially when there is a loose ball, we try to make sure that we put it in the right places.' Jaiswal and Gill laid a solid foundation for India after being put into bat, with their partnership steering the visitors past the 200-run mark. While Jaiswal fell shortly after Tea, Gill remained unbeaten on 127 at stumps, showcasing excellent temperament in his captaincy debut.
