Shedeur Sanders sends clear message about disrespect over jersey number
Shedeur Sanders is writing his own narrative after some tried to write it for him.
Deion Sanders' son known as 'Grown' solidified his long-standing nickname during the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. In the days leading up to the NFL Draft, a great deal of conjecture surfaced regarding the Colorado signal-caller. Most of it unconfirmed and most of it negative. A player that had no draft projections outside the first two rounds by anyone of significance, fell to the fifth round.

Perhaps the biggest NFL Draft slide of all time. From the lead up to the draft, to three weeks post draft, the story of the Draft was the 'why' behind Shedeur's famous slide. The answer of why may never be completely confirmed with many fans throwing words around like 'collusion' and 'punished.' However, Sanders arrived in Cleveland ready to go. Everyone who has watched him with consistency has likely picked up on a similarity between person and persona.
Deion invented Primetime as a persona to allow him to elevate his value. Shedeur, who plays QB, does not need a persona to improve earning potential for the position. The blueprint though would explain why there is also Sanders and 2Legendary. 2Legendary talks about 'Brady Mode' and flashes the watch if the moment calls for it.
Sanders along with about 40 other noteworthy NFL rookies made their way to California for the Premiere. Gravitating to what is familiar is simply human nature. On their way to the event, Sanders and Travis Hunter find themselves seated near each other on the bus. While this was a nice visual for CU Buffs fans, there was a momentary concern that Shedeur might lean into that human nature and spend most of any disposable time with Hunter.
Once inside the event though, Shedeur could be seen mingling with other rookies, like Cam Ward, Tyler Shough, and Cam Skattebo. But for the most part, Shedeur spent the bulk of that disposable time with new teammate and projected RB1 Quinshon Judkins. Even to a casual fan, a rookie QB spending time getting to know and assisting his future RB1 is the best way to spend that time.

Shedeur in his own way looked out for Judkins. Showing Sanders' ability to be in the moment and maintain a strong mindfulness, he got dressed next to Judkins and noticed something that could've been missed. Judkins was almost ready to walk out in just the brown under socks.
Shedeur mentioned to him nonchalantly, 'They wanna see the stripes' while holding the over socks with white-orange-white-orange-white striping Shedeur was hinting at. It says something about that preparation anonymous sources claimed Shedeur didn't have. What rookie is worried about the uniform inspector in May? A rookie that understands what his future role will be.
As part of the jersey reveal event, rookies were asked to participate in certain vendor aspects. One of those included sitting at a table with four condiment cups with indescribable contents within them. Someone off camera informed Shedeur that they hope he will try each one and give a review on how they taste.

The moment Sanders could not identify what was in those cups he said very plainly, 'I don't know what that is. Naw, I'm sure they're nice. I'll take your word for it.' Then he politely but not abruptly exited that table. There have been many NFL players who had to release a statement about a failed drug test. In many of those cases, they will say 'I have to be more responsible with what I put in my body.' It might've just been that he didn't trust strange looking food. Either way, it was the smart thing to do.

Cleveland is now figuring out that Sanders has a built in fanbase. During the event, he took a moment to address his fans and anyone who has spoken aggressively about 'his number.' The fans will go to bat for Shedeur even if he's never asked them to. In this direct appeal, he does not mince words.
This was a cease-and-desist letter told verbally in under 10 seconds. Sanders made it clear, to let it go on the No. 2. He went so far as to say, don't even call me '2' anymore. 'Don't even call me 2 anymore. Call me 12. If you call me 2, you're disrespecting me,' Sanders said.
From the moment Shedeur didn't go as high as expected, football fans have seen Sanders; not 2Legendary compose himself like the lifelong trained professional he is. He's done and said everything the way teams, players, coaches, and front offices want a QB to be.

Despite pre-draft reports to the contrary. 2Legendary will likely return, but not until he has earned it. Not because it's the will of the people but because that's how he sees it. The first time he leads a game winning drive in Cleveland, it'll be 'wrists up' to the Dawg Pound and they will love him for it.
Until then, he seems content to keep his head down, work like he has something to prove, and prepare to be the Legendary version of himself. When the situation calls for it.

Three Wisconsin Badgers appear on PFF's list of the NFL's top centers for 2025 season
Three Wisconsin Badgers appear on PFF's list of the NFL's top centers for 2025 season A trio of former Wisconsin Badgers landed on ProFootballFocus' list of the top 32 centers entering the 2025 NFL season. Captained by Super Bowl-winning center Creed Humphrey, PFF's hierarchy features former Badger standouts Joe Tippmann, Tyler Biadasz and Tanor Bortolini. Tippmann, who is entering his third campaign representing the New York Jets, landed at No. 11 on the ranking between Arizona Cardinal Hjalte Froholdt (No. 10) and Cleveland Brown Ethan Pocic (No. 12). The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native has started in 31 of 33 career games in New York, including all 17 games at center a season ago with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers at the helm. The Jets, with building star Breece Hall and Badger alumnus Braelon Allen in the backfield, rushed 363 times for 1,561 yards and eight scores behind Tippmann in 2024. Here's PFF's analysis on how the 2022 Honorable mention All-Big Ten center stacks up this coming season: "Tippmann took a big step forward in his second NFL season, earning a top-10 PFF overall grade (73.4) among centers. He improved his figure by more than 10 points on the grading scale over his rookie campaign, which bodes well for his ability to continue his career progression at just 24 years old." Amherst, Wisconsin, product Tyler Biadasz was the second Badger on PFF's recent list at No. 15. The five-year NFL veteran and 2022 Pro Bowler made 49 starts across four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before suiting up in 15 games with the Washington Commanders during the 2024 slate. With rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels at the helm and both Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler in the backfield, Washington rushed for 2,619 yards and 25 scores in 2024, with Biadasz leading the blocking effort. Only the Eagles and Ravens totaled more yardage on the ground. Here's PFF's take on the veteran: "Biadasz, in his first year with the Commanders, started off the 2024 season on a high note. Through the first nine games, his 79.3 PFF pass-blocking grade charted as the second-highest mark at the position. While that momentum faded as the season went on, and as Biadasz dealt with injury and illness, he still managed to finish with solid marks as a run blocker and a pass protector." Fresh off his first season with the Indianapolis Colts, Tanor Bortolini earned the No. 30 designation on the annual ranking. The Wisconsin product started in five of 12 total appearances for the Colts, largely contributing due to injuries at the position. Nonetheless, PFF's staff did not ignore the impression he made. "With the injuries to Ryan Kelly this past season, it was Bortolini and veteran Danny Pinter who stepped in to shoulder the load. Both are expected to compete for the starting job this summer. Bortolini showed a bit more of a well-rounded game in his first year as a pro, albeit on a limited sample. He produced a 64.0-plus PFF grade as both a run blocker and a pass protector, which may bode well for his chances of taking control of the starting job in 2025." As of June 6, all three players are poised to start for their respective franchises this coming season. The Colts, Jets and Commanders all kick-start their 2025 seasons on Sept. 7. Why Beyoncé and BET Keep Calling Jesse Collins
There's a memorable scene in Beyoncé's 'Homecoming' documentary about her headlining performance at Coachella in 2018, when she asks a production crew member for a 30-foot-wide camera track. He tells her it doesn't exist. She then proves him wrong. The Emmy-winning television producer Jesse Collins remembers that moment well, so when the pop superstar called on him to produce her Christmas Day N.F.L. halftime extravaganza 'Beyoncé Bowl' for Netflix, he was ready to meet her demands. 'Hell no, I will never tell her something doesn't exist unless it really doesn't exist,' he said recently with a laugh, 'because she'll Google it and she keeps up with technology. If it can't happen, I am 1,000 percent certain it can't happen.' Collins, 54, has worked closely with Beyoncé on awards show performances, including her raucous rendition of 'Freedom' at the 2016 BET Awards, when she danced and kicked in a shallow pool of water. 'The water was one of the most complicated things that I've ever done on any award show,' Collins recalled in a video interview from his office in Burbank, Calif., in a comfy black hoodie as the sun beamed behind him. 'Most people try to get away from water,' he said, but an executive had promised it. 'When you start the conversation with, 'This was promised to Beyoncé,' everybody's like, 'We're going to make this happen.'' Making things happen is Collins's specialty, and it's why heavyweights like Oprah Winfrey and Jay-Z have recruited him for their projects. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Travis Kelce's Behavior Toward Taylor Swift in Viral Wedding Video Catches Attention
Travis Kelce's Behavior Toward Taylor Swift in Viral Wedding Video Catches Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a three-and-a-half month break from the public eye, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift haven't stopped popping up on social media quite a bit lately. The couple were spotted out in public on two date nights in Palm Beach, Florida, over the last week, and Swift ended her social media hiatus to announce the major news that she bought back the master recordings of her first six albums — 'Taylor Swift,' 'Fearless,' 'Speak Now,' 'Red,' '1989' and 'Reputation' — in a $360 million acquisition. And while Kelce and Swift likely knew both of their date nights would end up in tabloids and on social media at some point, they likely didn't expect their appearance at a wedding in Nashville on Friday night to go viral. But that's exactly what happened when one guest took a video of the couple dancing together int heir seats and posted it to TikTok. The video was then reposted by several other accounts and made its way to X as well, and fans couldn't stop talking about the behavior they saw from Kelce, who not only had his hand on Swift's knee as they danced together, but he also matched her vibe pretty well. Several fans — many of whom have been clamoring for a future Kelce-Swift wedding — hit the comment sections across both social platforms applauding the Pro Bowl pass-catcher for both supporting Swift's lighthearted side and embracing her playful nature in a way many of her followers believe her previous love interests never did. 'They match each other's energies so well and yet some people still insist she's in a miserable closeted situation instead of being happy for her that she found someone who treats her how she wants to be treated,' one fan wrote. 'The way my mouth DROPPED at that video. THEY ARE TOO CUTE,' another fan added. 'Taylor and Travis attending a wedding together and dancing together in their chairs 😭🥹💜,' a third fan expressed. 'They're such a supportive couple. God continue to bless them,' one user noted. 'His hand on her knee…' another user replied. 'I love that she's finally having a normal relationship,' remarked one fan. 'Awww #TNT/#Tayvis looked so happy and cute vibing together! Power couple's chemistry/aura over 13 million! 💕💞' another fan exclaimed. Kelce was able to fit the wedding in due to the break in the Chiefs' offseason schedule. The team wrapped up Phase 2 of OTAs on Wednesday, and it'll resume Phase 3 on June 10. After Phase 3 wraps on June 13, Kansas City has a three-day break before hosting mandatory minicamp June 17-19.
