Taylor Swift's Five-Word Remark After Being Loudly Booed At The Super Bowl Revealed After Chiefs' Defeat

Yahoo10-02-2025

Taylor Swift was surprisingly booed during the 2025 Super Bowl, and a lip reader has revealed how she responded.
The singer was said to have been surprised that she received the reaction and showed so with a facial gesture and some words.
The game, which Taylor Swift attended to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, ended in a loss for his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Over the weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in a historic attempt to secure a three-peat Super Bowl victory.
Many celebrities attended the event, including Taylor Swift, who was there to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
However, just before her boyfriend's team went on to suffer a crushing 22-40 defeat, a large portion of the crowd made it clear they weren't excited to see the pop star, hitting her with a barrage of boos when she appeared on the jumbotron for the first time.
The star seemed to take notice of the booing and did not only respond with a mocking side-eye glance but also mumbled some words.
Now, according to lip reader, NJ Hickling, Swift said, "Aww what, what's going on?" seemingly shocked that she was being booed by the crowd, per the Daily Mail.
According to a body expert, Swift also showed support for her boyfriend in her own way as the scoreline between his team and the Philadelphia Eagles expanded during the game.
"Taylor Swift began in signature sweetheart mode….she looked as excited and busy as usual in the VIP section, chatting and whispering with one hand over her mouth like a teenage fan," body language expert Judi James told the news outlet.
She added, "[But] with her boyfriend's team losing badly by halftime and Travis standing dejected below her…..she gazed out at her lover unsmiling with her hands splayed and gripping the rail in a gesture of grim support."
The body expert also touched on Swift's response to the intense jeers she received, saying she was a "good sport" through it all.
James added about the pop star's reaction: "She held her pose bravely, but her eyes rolled to one side and then the other in a gesture of disbelief."
Prior to the big game, it was revealed that Swift was worried that her presence could overshadow Kelce and his team due to her relationship with the tight end and her A-list status.
"Taylor doesn't want to be the center of attention," a source told The Sun. "She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game."
They added, "She wants Travis to enjoy his Super Bowl week experience and be at 110% for Sunday, as she is dreaming about him making Super Bowl history and reaching another dream of his, winning another Super Bowl and making a three-peat."
During the lead-up to the game, many fans speculated whether Kelce would seize the opportunity to propose to Swift.
Kelce had even teased about the possibility of popping the question to the 14-time Grammy Award winner during Super Bowl LIX Opening Night last Monday.
Adding to the speculation, the couple was spotted enjoying a Friday dinner date in New Orleans.
However, it became very unlikely that a proposal would take place, especially as Kelce appeared deeply devastated as the possibility of him and his team achieving a historic three-peat vanished into thin air during the game.
With Kelce's team ultimately losing, Swift, whom there was no immediate sign of after the game ended, probably spent the rest of the night consoling her boyfriend.
A proposal would have still been unlikely in an alternate world where Kelcle's team emerged victorious at the Super Bowl.
While many might think Kelce wouldn't want the proposal to overshadow the victory, it seems more tied to the couple's preference for a "private" proposal.
"Travis going to have to go above and beyond, but it won't be a public spectacle," a source told the Daily Mail.
"When the time comes, people will know about it. But they are going to keep some things private and will have elaborate plans in place to ensure secrecy."
The insider also claimed that the couple are well aware that "the whole world is so thirsty for them to be engaged" and have found all of the engagement rumors to be "extremely humorous."
Meanwhile, the lovebirds are reportedly not "worried about those close to them leaking" information when they make those plans because "people who know them respect this."

Boxer Claressa Shields Upset Over Losing BET Award To Angel Reese, Social Media Jabs At Her

The BET Awards primarily focus on the best in Black entertainment, particularly in music and acting, but one of the most significant controversies on Monday night arose from the winner of a sports category. The Sportswoman of the Year went to the Chicago Sky's Angel Reese for the third time in a row. While it's hard to argue Reese's impact on women's sports, the category was stacked with heavy hitters like Dawn Staley, A'ja Wilson, Sha'Carri Richardson, Simone Biles, Flau'jae Johnson, Coco Gauff, JuJu Watkins, and Claressa Shields. And it was the undefeated boxing champ Shields who took to social media to complain about Reese coming out on top. 'Still don't know how I didn't win the Sportswoman of the Year for the @BETAwards,' Shields wrote. 'But, Congrats to Angel Reese and all the other Nominees [shrug emoji] I just thought accolades mattered.' Reese fans immediately hopped into her comments to argue her point, including one who wrote, 'You got [a lot] ms shields but reese has accolades too.' 'Yes she does but who has more accolades…. More success in their field. Please use google before responding,' Shields responded. The pushback of Reese rightfully deserving the award continued after the whirlwind of popularity she's had, with Shields conceding a bit but still thinking it's undeserved. 'Ain't nobody saying Angel Reese don't have accolades or she not good,' she said. 'I'm saying I thought the person with 'THE MOST' accolades & accomplishments would win the Award. I'm team Angel Reese!' Shields still enjoyed her night out at the awards alongside her boyfriend, Papoose, and posted a carousel of photos to her Instagram, settling for just being a BET nominee. 'Fortunate For All My Blessings [trophy emoji] For My First BET Nomination, I came how a Champion Should. We Enjoyed the Full @Betawards @bet Experience!' she wrote. Nicknamed the GWOAT, Shields is pretty accomplished, having won several world championships in five different weight classes, and is the first American boxer to win consecutive Olympic medals. There wasn't any noise made on the men's side of that same award. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts won, but the nominees were Aaron Judge, Anthony Edwards, Deion Sanders, Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, Saquon Barkley, and Stephen Curry. Nicki Minaj Flames Shannon Sharpe And Jay-Z On New 'Banned From NO' Remix

Source: Dia Dipasupil / Getty Nicki Minaj hops on the remix of Lil Wayne's track ' Banned From NO, ' a fan favorite from his ' Tha Carter VI ' album. While the queen wasn't on the original version, she's now back with some hard-hitting bars, and a few surprising shots at some well-known names. One line that's getting a lot of attention is aimed at sports commentator Shannon Sharpe. Nicki raps, ''Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop, if I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe.' Many fans were confused at first, wondering why she would call him out. But Nicki later explained that years ago, Sharpe tweeted 'Nicki who?' in a shady way. She clearly didn't forget, and now she's firing back in a verse. She even joked that she almost threw a shot at Chad Ochocinco too, since he's often on shows with Sharpe, but decided not to. Nicki also took a subtle jab at Jay-Z and the NFL. This year's Super Bowl was held in New Orleans, Lil Wayne's hometown, and many fans were upset that he wasn't picked to perform at halftime. Instead, the NFL chose Kendrick Lamar. Nicki called it out in her lyrics, saying, *'NFL, fire some n*ggas and then call us,' hinting that the league only works with Black artists when it benefits them. She didn't mention Jay-Z by name, but since he helps run the NFL's entertainment deals, many believe the line was allegedly directed at him. Whether she's defending Lil Wayne or settling old scores, Nicki proves once again that she's not afraid to speak her mind, and still knows how to grab everyone's attention. Take a look at some of the funniest reactions from the Barbz to Nicki Minaj sounding off on Shannon Sharpe and Jay-Z below. See it: New York Giants pass rush flashes dominance in practice

See it: New York Giants pass rush flashes dominance in practice One thing New York Giants fans are looking forward to this season is watching their team's pass rush in action. The prospect of having Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence, and rookie Abdul Carter on the field at the same time has their imaginations running wild. This week, at organized team activities (OTAs), we got a sneak preview of what that could look like. Even though these drills are limited contact, the speed and possibilities were evident. Spoiler alert: You don't want to have to block this. "Ultimately we want to get our best 11 on the field, whatever way we got to maneuver to do that," Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen said last week. "We got to find ways to get the guys that can impact the game on the field... So there is some versatility there. With Abdul he did a little bit of that stuff off the ball in college early in his career, so there is some versatility there and some versatility with what we could potentially do with Burns as well." Throughout their history, the Giants have consistently relied on their pass rush to achieve great heights. All four of their Super Bowl championship teams had a penchant for getting after passers with players such as Lawrence Taylor, Leonard Marshall, Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, and Jason Pierre-Paul. Bowen has the weapons to replicate many of the strategies that made those defenses successful, of which the element of surprise is one. "It's going to challenge offenses to figure out what we're doing," said Burns. "And if you can put us in different spots doing the same thing, it'll be confusing at a certain point."
