Sebastian Stan & The White Lotus Star to Lead Crime Movie Burning Rainbow Farm
Academy Award nominee Sebastian Stan (A Different Man, The Apprentice) and Leo Woodall (The White Lotus, One Day) have officially been tapped for the leading roles in the upcoming crime drama titled, Burning Rainbow Farm. The movie is based on a real-life police standoff between a gay cannabis activist couple and the Michigan police force.
'The film is set to tell the story of Tom Crosslin and Rollie Rohm, two gay cannabis activists who met in the early 1990s and set up the peaceful, pot-friendly utopia Rainbow Farm in Michigan, a site that was once listed by High Times magazine as 'fourteenth on the list of twenty-five Top Stoner Travel Spots in the world,'' reads the official synopsis. 'But the pair ran afoul of local authorities and, when their young son was taken from them, a police standoff ensued that would lead to one of the largest and most dramatic sieges America has ever seen.'
Burning Rainbow Farm will be directed and produced by Justin Kurzel from a screenplay written by Tommy Murphy, based on Dean Kuipers' 2006 book of the same name. It is produced Nicole O'Donohue and Alexandra Taussig for Thirdborn, Adam Shulman of Anonymous Content, Alix Madigan of Mad Dog Films, and Justin Lothrop and Brent Stiefel of Votiv.
'Burning Rainbow is a love story about two outliers who raise their middle finger to hate and declare 'This is who we are, and we dare you to take it from us',' Kurzel said in a statement (via Variety). 'I'm excited to create this loveable and courageous couple with Sebastian and Leo, their union will be one to remember.'

Believe it or not, it's been two months since Season 3's shocking finale aired on HBO Max, complete with malicious murders and sleek resort style alike. Over the last few weeks, our Sunday evenings have been noticeably quieter—it's the post-Lotus rut. But on June 2, some fan-favorite patrons of The White Lotus returned to the Instagram timeline with resort-chic style in tow. Yesterday, TV's biggest stars convened at Cipriani Wall Street for the 10th annual Gotham Television Awards. Before shows like The Pitt and Mattlock were honored with trophies, the VIP guests walked the red carpet in designer attire. The highlight of the evening was indisputably the cast reunions, especially when The White Lotus stars met up inside. One of the first on-screen frenemies to arrive was Carrie Coon, a.k.a. Laurie. In lieu of vibrant vacation-wear, Coon channeled her character's sleek, New York aesthetic in a white high-neck gown. Her strappy sandals, however, felt Thailand-ready. After Coon's step-and-repeat, fans spotted another member of the Thailand trio on the red carpet. Leslie Bibb made the grandest of entrances in a teal knee-length dress from Stella McCartney Spring 2025. Decorated with delicate ruching and striking shoulder pads, the midi would've fit right in with Kate's vacation rotation. The summer color combination continued onto her crimson red pumps, which debuted on the same runway. To no surprise, her "cunty little bob" appeared just as blunt as it was on-screen. But wait—the reunions didn't end there. Later at the Gotham Awards, Parker Posey received the Legend Tribute from her co-stars, Bibb and her husband (and fellow TWL alum), Sam Rockwell. To accept her accolade, Posey embraced her character's penchant for flowy 'fits in Valentino Pre-Fall 2025. Designed by creative director Alessandro Michele, the floor-length gown featured a plunging neckline, long billowy sleeves, and a ruffled hem. She accessorized with complementary lace gloves, also from the Italian brand. Her brocade purse, another Valentino piece, leaned retro. Posey's round, rose-colored glasses seemed to pay homage to a pair she wore as Victoria Ratliff on The White Lotus. Season 3 of The White Lotus will likely dominate the award season circuit in the coming months. With more likely reunions on the horizon, here's hoping Michelle Moynahan, who plays Jaclyn Lemon, will join Coon, Bibb, and Posey at the next soirée.

"The White Lotus" star, 31, and his movie icon father, 77, sat down for a candid joint interview on Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, released on June 3, during which they discussed Patrick's bold breakout role as Saxon Ratliff. A party-loving pool cretin, Ratliff is the poster boy for misguided masculinity on the HBO series' third season. "Saxon leads with his penis; quite literally, that's how he walks," said Patrick of his character's carnal confidence in a February interview with USA TODAY. Patrick Schwarzenegger considered adopting an "alias" earlier in his career. The 31-year-old actor - who is the son of Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver - actually thought about adopting another name in order to distinguish himself from his family. Speaking to his dad, for Variety's Actors on Actors series, Patrick explained: "I feel [the weight of my name] in multiple different ways. "['White Lotus' creator] Mike White said that it comes with baggage, the idea that when you have successful parents like I do with you and mom, there's an added level of what other people think. Mike was worried about, if he cast me, what other people would think. Which they did — they did care about that; people said I got the role because of you and mom. "There were times earlier in my career where I was wondering, does it make sense to go under an alias? It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about living in your shadow versus wanting to do it the way I thought I should do it." Patrick's parents instilled a solid work ethic into the actor, and he's determined to "honour" their advice. He said: "I understand how hard you and mom have worked throughout your life to give me the opportunities that I've had. The biggest advice you gave us kids is to work hard. I've tried to honour that." Patrick recently admitted that he "grew as an actor" during his time on 'The White Lotus'. Patrick played Saxon Ratliff on the hit HBO series, and he took to social media to reflect on his experience. He wrote on X: "Today's quite bittersweet. I teared up last night in the finale… First — because It was this beautiful yet devastating and profound ending - but secondly, because It was also the end of this chapter for me in my life.. "White lotus has consumed my life the past 16 months. Prepping, filming , press etc etc. It was a Beautiful chapter of my life. One that I'll never forget. One that I made everlasting relationships. A chapter That I learned immensely from. That I grew as an actor and a Human. Just a moment in life that I'm forever grateful for. (sic)"
